The male yawned, his meeting with Xu more exhausting than it had seemed. He lay beneath a tree nearby the watering hole, eyes half droopy. Kazi huffed a bored sigh and looked around, seeing no sign of life for miles around him. "Ahh...nothing but nature to surround me," he commented, then snorted. "How....utterly.......boring." His voice was drawl, and very monotone, reflecting the exact of boredom he seemed to experience. The large ash lion frowned and lowered his head again, closing his eyes to begin his nap.

It wasn't really his fault that he was bored. There was virtually nothing to do around here, and for a second he wondered exactly what he saw in the pridelands. Then, when he thought about it some more, he remembered that it was just as boring everywhere else; the pridelands were different because not only was it peaceful and very tranquil, but it also provided protection for the family he wanted to have someday. That thought brought a smile to his maw, and he lifted his head. This time around, however, he saw a figure heading towards the watering hole. He quirked his brow and kept his eyes on the figure.

"Hm, at least it'll give me something more interesting to do than take a nap."

Sen didn't care what anyone thought. To her, the Pridelands would always be so boring and pathetic a place it was worthless in her eyes. She'd heard the ramblings of how it was 'nice' and 'peaceful', but was it really? It had never seemed any safer than anywhere else to her, and she'd been around.

This terrible place was no where for someone to live, including family; she was here to take her family away. First she... had to find them. Another thing to hate about the Pridelands was that it was so big. Make that huge. She'd been prowling around for days trying to track her mother or father down with hardly anything to go on. Ridiculous!

The day had been a hot one, leaving even a lightly-colored lioness like Sen feeling the effects of it. The fact she'd, again, been running from place to place all day probably didn't help either.

Carefully, she removed her beads and set them aside. It didn't seem like it was nesscary to discard them just to get a drink of water. It wouldn't have been if that was all she planned to do.

The adolescent took a single step back and plunged into the watering hole, surfacing seconds later and shaking her head rapidly to remove the water from her ears.

The male squinted his emerald green eyes, wondering who it was that so suddenly dived into the water. With a small grin he stood up and ran to where a small white head was surfaced just above the water. Kazi stopped abruptly, laughing as he recognized the extremely white pelt and lime green eyes.

"Sen?" he asked, his chuckles quieted down considerably. He took a seat at the side of the watering hole, eyes still on the bobbing head. It was an odd sight, at least for him, to see a feline almost completely submerged in a body of water. Or at the very least, it was new.

"I don't suppose you remember me," he stated, eyes still unwavering. The last time he remembered seeing the lioness had been before he re-joined the pridelands, and if he remembered correctly she said she was leaving. So why she was back was a subject of interest for him, mainly because while she was on her way out of the territory she seemed to....loathe it so.

Oh, she remembered him alright.

Sen's front paws shot out of the water and her claws extended into the dirt. In one swift, solid motion she pulled herself completely back onto the land and shook off her drenched coat. Droplets of water flew in every direction, potentially hitting those nearby. Sen didn't give it a thought. They shouldn't be standing so close to her, anyway.

"Kazi," she greeted. It wasn't nesscarily the warm welcome of two friends, but it wasn't laced with any sort of bitterness or hard feelings either. Why should she be at all angry? She was about to rub in his face what she'd told him before.

"I'm just here to pick up my parents to bring them back to my pride. Which, by the way, is very much my pride." She gave him a second to late her sweet victory sink into his thick skull. "And what about you? Still lazing around this good-for-nothing place?"

The male gently wiped at the areas where her droplets had fallen and let loose a loud yawn. Though she had managed to catch his attention, he was still...exhausted from being bored. If that made any sort of sense to anyone else but him, he'll never know, nor would he ever care.

Kazi let her statement brush past him with nothing more than a smirk. He was, after all, unaffected by whatever sort of pride she was creating. He shrugged at her inquiry, then began walking slowly toward the spot where he lay only moments earlier.

"Lazing, yes. Good-for-nothing, I'd beg to differ. But to each his own." The male turned and took a good look at the now older lioness, a ghost of a smile in his features. "Did your parents ask to be taken away to this...pride...of yours?" he proceeded to ask. Being who he was, he knew if his own kid were to drag him off elsewhere, he'd dig his claws straight into the ground and not move until he or she let him alone.

A bit stubborn, but he spent the good part of his early life wandering, and after settling down in the pridelands it'd take nothing less than a miracle to get him to leave and wandering aimlessly again.

"I wouldn't be surprised if neither of them even noticed I've been gone," grumbled a bitter-sounding Sen. A little voice in the back of her head told her they would because she'd taken the brother they loved so much. Quickly, she silenced it, reminding herself that brother had ended up being better to her through their journey away from the Pridelands than either parent had been the whole time she was here.

"No, they didn't," she continued, edging her necklace back on to it's rightful place around her neck. "But that's why I'm here, to convince them to come with me. If not for me, than for something they care about that I have. Not that it's any of your business, old man."

He felt a nerve twitch at the term "old" however let nothing show on the outside. Kazi decided, this time around, he'd try the stoic route. If anything, it might bug the bejeebus out of her. With a smile he shrugged, once again, uncaringly. "You're right, it isn't my business." With a sigh he lowered his head to his paw, now staring up lazily at the lioness. Something seemed familiar about her, and not in just that sense that he'd seen her, Sen, before. Something of a family resemblance...maybe? He couldn't put his paw on it just yet...

"So, since your parents don't want to go, and you're lonely as all hell, you're sort of blackmailing them into it?" he asked, then offered a sort of mock-thoughtful look. "Yep, sounds about right to me." The male gave another smirk before lowering his head back to a laying position and closing his eyes. "That...." he mumbled, "Seems a little pathetic, even for you.."

"Yeah, well--" ...Wait, what? Had he just agreed with her? If it were possible, she'd have been beaming as brightly as the sun itself fueled completely by pride. Yeah, it wasn't his business, she repeated mentally. Stupid old Pridelander lions.

The light green eyes narrowed on him. It didn't take much to get her flustered and he was hitting all the right notes. "I'm not lonely. I have a brother, and a Goddess, and a best friend, and soon I'll have tons of lions following me." It was true. Sen wasn't lonely, she couldn't be. It wasn't loneliness that made her come here.

...It was definately not that she missed her parents.

Nope. No way.

"I came to get them for my brother, for your information, because he misses them. And, he's their favorite, always was, so they'll come with me since he's going to be in the pride too. You don't know what you're talking about, and you're the pathetic one. Lazing around this stupid place. I don't care what you say, the Pridelands are a useless squad of lackeys for the royal family."

Another smirk. He was getting to her, and he couldn't help himself to being amused. It didn't show too much though, since he had his head down. His tail swished to and fro, and his ears twitched a little, as she seemed to ramble on, what with defending herself against what he just said. It may have been a sick sort of pleasure, irking her, but he had to admit -- it was, in it's own way, fun. Kazi yawned once more, lifting his head and staring boredly back at her perturbed face.

"Well," he started, his voice a still drawled, uncaring, and somewhat monotone. "That's an awful lot to say about something you don't care about, isn't it?" The lion blinked a few times, and continued. "So, did you trick your brother into going with you? Or did he willingly volunteer like your parents are about to, what with your obvious persuasiveness and all?" He kept his eyes on her, and the longer he looked, the more a different face seemed to come to him.

Xu.

The male's eyed widened for a split second, but he willed himself back under control. This little tyrant is related to Xu!? his thought to himself. It was definitely something he didn't expect, and it would be the first thing he'd ask about the next time he met the kind lioness. For the time being, however, he pushed it to the back of his mind. He needed to keep his cool, after all, and having that sort of thought wouldn't help with that.

Part of Sen had known all along she was playing into this weird game of his. The problem was it was a very small part. The rest of her didn't care. He was annoying and that was what really mattered.

His minor annoyances were more now. He'd really struck a cord, and the female snarled at the accusations. "Shut up! Don't you talk about my brother! You don't know anything!" Or maybe he did. Because Sen had sort of tricked him into it. He hadn't realized it, likely never would, but Sen felt guilty for doing it now.

At the time, she hadn't cared about him like she did now. She just hadn't wanted to abandon the Pridelands completely alone. "I'm sick of you! You're just a useless old Pridelander in this useless pride!"

Huffing, she turned to take her leave.

That guy made her so mad!

The male laughed aloud, realizing that he had actually gotten to her enough to make her...blow up in front of him. It was also something unexpected, but more pleasant than perhaps the whole idea of her being related to the lioness he was to accompany for a little while beyond the borders. Just to be polite he lifted his head and watched her turn her back.

"Useless, maybe, but at least I'm slightly more likable than you," he said bluntly. It wasn't something he would say on any regular basis, but...well, she presented a slightly special case.

"Good luck finding your parents, Sen. Maybe after a heated argument or two, you can manage to 'convince' them to go with you." With that, the male lowered his head and left the lioness to do what she will, stay or leave. He would, of course, continue conversing with her should she choose to stay. But, in all honestly, he'd rather take that nap he suddenly craved for after she called him old.
