I was a devote fan of this reality show until my mother pointed out she's furthering the bad stereo type of crazy and ghetto black women
with this realization I stopped watching immediately
what do you guys think?

I think its a stupid show, annd she's not a good role model for young Black women. She's as bitchy as she wants to be and the guys just love her more. I think she's as bad as the Kardashians. For her mom to be such a devout Christian, she turned out ungodly. She's ben rejected 3 times on national television, she just wants attention but needs help. American televion is going down the shitter.

Well, kudos to "New York" for being herself. Though the show's writers and producers come up with all these "activities" for her and the rest of the cast to participate in, she doesn't always choose to play along exactly the way they would want her to. xd
I personally don't like all the fake s**t: the lashes, the weave, the boobs; but what I dislike even more is having to hear about those things in every episode. How low-class is it to always be complaining about how your weave might get wet or your lashes might blow off? And it's not very classy to be talking about your "new, paid-for" breasts. rolleyes I believe someone has brought up already the fact that she has been rejected on television plenty-o-times. xd
Also, the house is pure excess with walls and a roof. xp
I have watched parts of episodes, (they are never interesting enough to keep my attention for long), but the show is on as entertainment only. VH1 probably doesn't care that this show is perpetuating a stereotype -- and neither do many of the viewers. We've seen "real" celebrities' reality shows, now it's time for "real" second-rate, self-made celebs who are more entertaining, (like, freak-show entertaining), than they are fascinating. xd
And the suitors on these shows, (New York, Tila Tequila), are getting less and less appealing. Many of them are in it for their own personal fame and already have agents and acting backgrounds.
Who else is tired of hearing, "I have (blank) number of guys/girls here and only (blank) number of chains/keys/roses/photos in my hand/blah, blah, blah"? (Yes, I'm tired of shows like "The Shot" and "America's Next Top Most Smartest Model," too. xD In fact, how many of these shows can you guys name?? surprised )

FLCL owns my soul I was a devote fan of this reality show until my mother pointed out she's furthering the bad stereo type of crazy and ghetto black women with this realization I stopped watching immediately what do you guys think? Almost everything in the media is sterotyped. Sterotypes are enjoyable to watch. The thing is America smart enough to tell the difference between tv and reality. Movies depict this like Norbit, or the Scary Movies. It is all for comical effect just a laugh. And if anyone is actually going to let their kids watch that slut on tv who are not old enough to stop imitaiting tv then that is a no no.

i'm so done with that line ["i have ___ number of guys/girls..."]. i don't understand why they need to put it in each and every episode, people know how these shows go already.
i'm not totally convinced that New York is being 'herself'. some of the personality traits may be real, but it seems like she's being egged on (or paid well enough) to be more outrageous each season. btw, those fake boobs are HIDEOUS!!! and i doubt her mother is as 'devout' as they would like you to believe. although, i know a lot of people who claim to be christian and are the evilest people i know. and that house isn't hers, it's the same house VH1's been using for every 2nd rate reality show they have, they just re-decorate it.
tila tequila; don't get me started. stupidest show ever! ('rock of love' is a close second) looking like someone threw a brick at her face. if she put on a little more red make-up she'd look like one of the blockheads from Gumby...

I like the show. Its fake and just entertainment and to me, New York doesn't reflect the average black woman.

I knew the chick was bad news when she first made her debut. It was just all downhill from there. She is ridiculous. All that I can say about her could be seen as me hatin', but....she's so ick in the first place!! What's there to hate on? The fact that her so-called "Christian" mother sits back and tells people to destroy one another? Or the fact that girlfriend is so proud of her fake boobs that she wears ill-fitting outfits to flaunt them? I wouldn't be shocked if there's some XXX outtakes of those nasty things falling out. She is fake through and through. Loud and fake. There's nothing fabulous about her. Her show is garbage but what can I say? It's fun to watch it and see what kind of bullcrap she'll be up to next. It's fun to see people call her out and watch her react because she knows it's true. She is always talking s**t about other people and thinks that's cute as hell. Her mom does the same thing claiming she's got a "third eye". I watched Sister Patterson last night on Youtube on the church episode and just shook my head. Both momma and daughter are a hot ******** mess. They cover it all up with clothes, makeup, and really REALLY bad attitudes. She can be herself all she wants to. Just not on TV....PLEASE!!! O_O I don't think she's the rep for all Black women on TV, though. I'd never give her that title. She is off on her own. As for stereotypes, well....I suppose she would fit the role of an overly fake person. I pray to God no one is foolish enough to think she's reppin' the sistas in this world. o_o I don't want her representing me with her crazy self. I'm not loud. I don't wear makeup. My boobs are real! My mother (God rest her soul) was a sweet lady with a love for funky jewelry and head scarves. I was raised right, with class. Just...ugh....Miss NY makes me want to scrub her to the bone. She looks so filthy to me for some reason. I will never forget when this NY morning DJ put her on blast for her alleged degree at Syracuse. I laughed my butt off for a good minute. Turns out the DJ went to Syracuse and told Miss thing that there was no such major as "boutique buyer". Of course after all was said and done, NY called her a bitter fat b***h. (Jeez. and this woman was like a size 16!! I wish I could get into that!!)
Chick needs some hands laid on her. I live in Chicago and even the craziest females here don't act all like that. At least you can actually tell if they're women or trannies. With Miss NY and mommy....hmmm....

The show is really stupid, but I find it so entertaining! I don't know why. Like this girl is crazy, needs to stop screwin around and everything, but I love her (not like that). I think if we were to have met, we'd probably have problems. lmao.

Or was it just the first realy popular one? i don't think 'the osbournes' was the first celeb-reality [that's such a cute phrase 4laugh ] show out there. i don't remember what show spawned it, but the osbournes made it more popular with it's constant crazyness.

Her show is no worse than BET or MTV. I view it only as what it is. A TV show, and nothing more. Nothing to be taken too seriously.

The Osbornes were hardly the first. Their were similar shows in the 80s and 90s, but were never all that popular.
