I had an ultrasound yeaterday.
What they told me is that the baby is two weeks too small and there is not enough fluid for where I am in the pregnancy.
I was only bearly 5 pounds at birth and I was a full term baby. With no problems for my mom. My (now Husband since we got married yesterday) was almost 11 pounds.
I am most concerned about there not being enough fluid. They told me "Drink more water" I drink beween 9-10 glasses a day. If I drink more then that I won't be able to eat. Cuase I will be full of water. My stomach already hurts from the amount of water I drink daily, but I know water is good for the baby.
On the ultrasound the baby's bladder was full, we could see that. But it was moving a bunch and she could not get it to get inna good postition to get good measurements. This I think is what lead them to saying it was too small.
I have another Ultrasound on Monday to check the fluid level and see if the spine is ok. Then they tell me not to worry.
I am not sure what to do. I am trying to drink more water but then I am too full to eat. And I know I have to eat for the baby. The doctors don't seem to have a solution for me. Please help.
**Update
Okay had another Ultrasound this morning. The baby's fluid at my recheck was 11.4, it is down to 7.4 again. So they are sending me for a level 2 ultrasound. This doctor, said he is not worried about the size of the baby and drinking all that water only stressed me out, cause there is no direct link to my fluid intake and the baby's out put. I am not worrie.d I am feeling him (yes it is a boy) move now and I fell like he is okay. But thye are all acting like they want to put me in the hospital and take the baby early, which I refuse to let them do. My bloiod pressure is fine, his heartbeat is fine. why would they take him out if everything except this damn fluid thing looks good. Plus, the baby does not like having his picture taken, he curls up in a ball and kicks the ultrasounf thing so this is why I think everything is all different all the time.
My next ultrasound is with a MFS next Wednesday (one week).

Hmm, that is a toughie, they always want you to drink massive amounts of water!! And if you all ready did have to use the bathroom enough as it is pregnant!
Try to eat something before you drink the water, maybe? Water does fill you up but usually your stomach will dump it in a relatively short amount of time.
How many ounces of water do they want you to drink?

THey just said more. I already was drinking 8 glasses of water a day plus 2 glasses of milk and 2 more of juice. I tried explaining this to them. They just keep saying, well that's good but drink more. I am already floating.
My mom is concerned about the water alone, because yes the stomach dumps the water quickly, it also rinses out vitamins and stuff like that.
So far toady I have had 10 glasses of water. plus my normal two glasses of milk with breakfast.

I'd definately ask them for a set amount, their glass size could be totally different from yours! Too much water and it could happen like you said, flushing the good vitamins and electrolytes out as well.
I'm pretty clueless about this, so don't mind me!

Hey there, i had a problem with low fluid in my first preganacy... they thing they for get to say is almost any liquid counts toward your fluid in take, so to solve the food problem get some boost, it's not the best tasting stuff but it's full of vitimans and calcium and all that good stuff. Plus it counts as a liquid because it is a drink. That helped me alot and helped my daughter gain some extra weight too. I can't promise anything but it won't hurt to try it. They sell it everywhere and it's usally with the vitams it's a nutrition supllument shake for the elderly if you've never heard of it. There are also Enrich, and Ensure, which I think are basically the same thing just different brands. Rest also helps so take breaks as much as you can. And try not to worry this sort of thing usally turns out just fine. Good luck. and congrat on your marriage.

Cause I lost my job three days after I told them I was pregnant. I have WIC and food stamps. And that is basicly how I buy food.

Do I understand you correctly- you were fired because you told them you are pregnant?? Do we live in the Middle Ages? Did I miss something here?

I thought that was illegal to fire a woman if she becomes pregnant!
Ensure has a BUNCH of flavors out now! I don't know about the food stamps thing, but it is expensive.

Same thing hapened to me when I worked at Wal Mart. When my mid wife sent anote with me to work explaining that I was not allowed to lift heavy stuff as it could cause a miscarriage (duh), the manager b***h told me I had "to quit." I said I wasn't going to quit, that I was pregnant when they hired me and they knew it. Anyway, it turned into a big mess where I was threatening a law-suit, so they backed off. So yes, unfortunately there are still employers out there who get away with picking on pregnant women. I hate them all.

Well Wal-Mart has a GLORIOUS reputation for being understanding and generous when it comes to it's employees. xd

Give the Labor Board a call. You can find the number in the front of your phone book. Let them know what happened. They take care of things. May even get you your paycheck back, without having to go to work. Cause they have to pay you when it's illegal to fire you.

Many women still get fired for telling that they are pregnant.... it is up to the person to prove that they were fired for that reason... most places I've been have just laid me off due to lack of work... so that I can't have a claim against them for illegally letting me go...but the funny thing is that it only happens after they find out that you are pregnant. Most immigrants won't tell their employer when they are pregnant for that reason also. It is a sad state, but our laws don't back up the women that are wronged...

Most labor boards don't do anything but talk out of both sides of their mouth. I even got fired for reporting sexual harrassment.... and the labor board did nothing... the 3 witnesses to the sexual harrassment even wrote statements to the Labor board and they all ended up losing their jobs also... Life just isn't fair.
