I'm not doing good at college (I'm in Computer Programming.. I kind of regret it), and I can't stand it anymore. I'm getting a part-time job at a clothing store but that's about it for now.

Does anyone know any good freelancing sites that focus on digital painting/illustration and not much else? Any advice? Something sci-fi and fantasy friendly? I've been posting new and better stuff on my DeviantArt profile recently, after nearly a year of not posting anything. I think I'm finding joy in art again and I think I'm going to be active for very long.

...Thanks for reading. sad heart

My advice is to change your major and focus on a real career. In the mean time, get a stable part time job that you don't hate. I'm not in the know about freelancing stuff personally, aside from the fact that it isn't a stable income. I am completely serious when I say that you need to drop what you are doing in college and do something else though.

You are wasting money on a career that is not fulfilling, which means eventually you will have to fork over money to go BACK to school for something that is.

Thank you.

I might as well change the entire school if I ever plan on going back to college for something worthwhile.

I've dreamed of going someplace like Ringling or Savannah, something I should've considered first.

If you can do it, please do. You will likely regret it for the rest of your life if you don't. :[ I know a lot of people who wasted tons of money on school only to have to go back later because they either hated their career or the career field was over saturated.

My husband went to a Tech school and while he enjoys what he does, he somewhat regrets not going to a normal college and going into a better career.

I always give advice like this when someone mentions they are going to school for something they hate. It sucks to be 20k (or more) in debt all for nothing.

I work in IT and it is pretty crap, do something you love, those 8 hours a day really add up after a few years and you'll wish you were doing something worthwhile.
