 Takeo darted around his golden eyes wide. Where was Tyler? Why had his brother left him alone? He knew that bad things happened when Takeo was alone. Tak whimpered shuddering before darting behind the cloest large rock. Where the devil was Tyler?!

 It had been a long day in the tanks, what with Anwahs flirting shamelessly with every male available there, and Genaris had finally had enough. Setting out for a nice, quiet afternoon by himself, he swam easily through the currents, his tail trailing out in an emerald flutter behind him. At least, that was the idea. A flash of yellow caught his attention, and Gen turned just in time to see the other beta disappear behind a large outcropping of boulders. After taking a quick look around to make certain that the other one hadn't been chased, Genaris finally approached the outcropping slowly. "Are we playing Hide 'N' Seek?"

He would hear the sound of a frighten meep much like a small fry would make but the terrorfied golden eyes that peered out at him for a second defiantly didn't belong to any fry.
"I..i.." Takeo quickly ducked back before the rock, visably shaking " I'm s.s.s.sorry!I..I..I c.c.c..an g.g.go." He longed for the security of his brother sure that Tyler would never let anything hurt him. For all Takeo knew this strange male could work for his father. "P..p..please d.d.don't hurt me.."

Genaris had been about to assure the boy that he didn't have to leave when the second statement struck him. "Hurt you? My word, I have no reason to want to hurt you." He settled his fins and tail a little lower than usual, so as not to make such an imposing figure. Cool green eyes made contact with the gold ones, quiet and kind. "Whatever you're hiding from, friend, isn't here, and I've no plans to stand by idle should it show up." Hopefully *that* would settle the poor guy's nerves a tad.

Takeo took a deep breath before slowlyg coming out, his golden eyes were still frightened and his fins were still trembling a bit but he wasn't shaking as bad "I'm..I'm sorry sir. " He tugged his scarves a bit tightered around him dropping his eyes shy. "Is this your place? I can leave.." That dreadful stammer had smoothed out to a low rich tenor and rather plesant to listen to.

"No, this isn't my place, though I tend to come here often when I need a bit of quiet." While it was obvious that this other fish wasn't entirely at ease, at least he wasn't near to jumping out of his scales any longer. Genaris allowed his fins to settle even more, forming almost a emerald green cloak around him. "You're more than welcome to stay, and I wouldn't mind some friendly company."

Takeo smiled very faintly though it was hidden behind his scarf. "I must just miss you then, I often hide here. It is safe and I can most often see everyone before they can sneak up on me." He didn't move up to Genaris's side staying just out of reach and slightly behind him.

He didn't make any further move to get closer to the other beta. Instead, Genaris settled himself down against the rocks, inwardly pleased over the fact that the fear had finally softened in Takeo's eyes; even though he couldn't see the gold one's smile behind the scarf, it was still visible elsewhere. "It's funny how life runs sometimes. This place seems to serve as sanctuary for us both, and now we finally get a chance to meet."

"Aye. Life...well it is a very strange mistress....I'm Takeo." He smiled slowly starting to relax as the other male offered him no violence. He inched foreward just a bit flinching as the sun glinted off his beautiful scales, his black and blue tails fluttering.

"And I'm Genaris, but most just call me Gen." Smiling, he shifted a bit to make room on the rocks for Takeo, should the golden boy want to sit.

Takeo hesitated his eyes darting to the space beside Genaris then back to his hiding spot. Several moment's passed before Tak slowly eased himself down beside the other male, as far from him as he could get and still be on the rock but there. When nothing happened Takeo began to relax. First his tails stopped trembling, next he loosened his death grip on his scarves till finally he let out a sigh and smiled at Gen. All told it took nearly an hour for the young golden to get to this calmer point.

More than happy to wait patiently, Genaris took the time to enjoy their surroundings while Takeo got settled, trying not to look too much in the other's direction, lest it seem like he was staring. It was quite nice to be around someone who wasn't darting about constantly, or chattering endlessly, or attempting to mate with every beta in sight... The sigh beside him shook Gen from his thoughts, and he turned, then returned Tak's smile. "Comfortable now?" His voice was mellow, with just the slightest upturn of gentle amusement.

Tak started for a moment having gotten use to the silence. He settled much quicker this time smiling faintly " yes..thank you." It took him a moment to remember his manners. " I was just worrying about my brother. He...he doesn't like to leave me alone for long. " He flushed with shame knowing he kept his brother from living a full life.

Gen couldn't help but notice how Tak had jumped; whatever had the boy spooked, it had him spooked good. "You sound close to your brother. Where did you last see him?"

" he uh...he told me to stay here that he would be back soon." He fluttered his fin nervous. Where was Tyler? Oh please don't let him have found Tyler...Takeo shook his head frantic " He..he should be here soon!"
