This is Barton. It has been in absolute distress since the wars begun. That is mostly because it is where 90% of the battles take place. I'd blame it on the fact that it sits right on the border of both Faction's territories. The City is divided, but mostly controlled by Durem. This is a good place to Rp when you don't have a certain place you want to RP at in Barton Town.

A few hours after departure from Woodland Outskirts:
Blix and the horde of goblins that followed him had arrived in Barton. The drink in their bellies had since worn off, replaced instead by the unrelenting urge to pillage and destroy. The Chief was away and they had no intention to fight the Republic, that required an organization not found in the mind of a goblin.
Their courage was fueled by their numbers, and without warning they burst foreward and began to ransack the town. Windows were broken and bales of hay were set ablaze. An occasional peasant would try to defend their property, meeting instead with death by knifing at the hands of the greenskinned marauders. Women and childred cried out, while the men of the town tried in vain to come to their aid. Livestock ran frightened through the street, escaped from their broken pens. Eventually the fires began to spread, catching onto the roofs of houses. Wicked goblin laughter echoed amid terrified cries for help.

The horde had split into small groups that now ran amok in the town. Blix rode with six other goblins, sacking and looting everything in sight. They barged into home after home, using their horses to kick in the doors of those not yet burning down.
As the frenzied groups of goblins rampaged through the streets and alleys, a small pile of bodies was beginning to grow in the center of the residential area. One goblin had the bright idea to throw a torch onto the pile, lighting it on fire. The smell of burning flesh wafted over the town.

Uncontested by a show of real resistance, Blix and his goblins tore the town apart. By the end of their raid, they'd made off with a myriad of stolen goods and even some captives. Successful, Blix rallied the goblins back together and the large band rode back to their camp, loosing the villagers horses so as not to be followed.

[Sevral days after leaving Durem market]
Dreccas walked into the town, not sure what he'd find, the scent of blood everywhere, he could almost touch the carnage that had ensued recently "This..." he started, thoughts racing in his head, he had yet to find any real allies and if sombody could have power like this he should start with them. He followed the trail of blood fear and power to in a direction.

Solice was standing near by, wondering what action to take. Could he raise them, or is that impossible? As he was thinking a demon walked by paying no attention to him. "Demon! is this the corollary of your comportment?" he asked with a raging voice to Dreccas, "Tell me now, demon and I shall spare thy soul!"

The Vampiric Demon paid no heed. "Ruthless being," he thought to himself knowing inside that he wasn't the cause. Solice then walked back towards the square hoping to get someone to help.

A day and a half after leaving Port Gambino:
"What a mess!", exclaimed Garrett as the three troops arrived to the sight of the half destroyed town.
Althuogh the citizens had begun to reestablish themselves, the place had obviously been attacked fairly recently.
"Aye, no wonder they sent us to reenforce the guard.", Talos added.
"I guess we'd best get to our posts then", Breth led the group toward the local commander's building.

After two days Journey through swamp, half a day after Republic Soldier's arrival:
Hain walked into the city, a low mist following him aroud the streets as he walked. The sky had grown murky and brownish in color, the sun was dimmed behind a seeming blanket of smog. Groing frightened of any kind of impending attack, the villagers began to quickly head for their homes. Surprisingly, most rushed right passed Hains's rotted figure, not noticing him as he stood stll to observe the commotion. It was not until a youn boy bumped into his armored legs, that Hain was given recognition.
Hain grabbed the boy by his small, patched up tunic and lifted him fromthe ground toward the ancient skull of his face. The boy cried out in fear, wetting himself in the process.

Talos was the first to hear the call of distress. He rushed over in the direction from whence it came.
Turning a corner, Talos happened upon the visage of an undead warrior clad in ancient, rusted armor.
"Oi!", he yelled at the Wight. "Put that there boy down!" He then drew his sword and advanced on the creature.

Hain turned to the young man that had called out to him. As Talos advanced, the Wight tossed the child into the air between him and the charging Republic soldier. In one motion he lunged forward slicing the child in half while carrying the strike through to attack the oncoming man.
