Shinigami Substitute
"Here you are, dammit!" shouted Mika to Nokomi, grabbing a mint herb from her bag, "And eat this, you drunken idiot!"
Mika shoved a mint herb in Nokomi's mouth.
Nokomi stood and spit the leaf in Mika's face, then she shoved her,
hard.
Too hard, Nokomi lost her footing and instead went tumbling into Mika. The two rolled off the thatch roof and onto the cobblestone street. People passing on the sidewalk yelped and scurried to get out of the way as the two bodies rolled to a stop, splayed out on the road.
Nokomi propped herself up with one arm, she'd lost her wineskin in the fall. "
Hahha-*hic*-ha!", she laughed woozily. She stood with great effort, then looked over at Mika.
"See...Strength.", she proclaimed to the fallen vampire as she flexed her arm.
Despite Nokomi's drunkeness, she thought quickly enough to pull the girl into the shade of an alley; safe from the midday sun. Luckily for Mika, she'd landed face down and her heavy coat had still shielded her from a very certain immense pain and burning that would have resulted from a short exposure to the sun's rays. She might have insuted Nokomi, but that did not make her a poor soldier. In fact, she might have just earned a teeny bit of the barbarian's respect for at least showing the gall to
try and assault her.
(keep in mind that Nokomi and Mika's interactions are set 2 days after the incident in Akea)
