I just read this thing, and thought I should post it. I've seen loads of the American version of dumb laws but never the British- so I felt the need to educate. Also, I was once told (but have never had confirmed) that in the centre of Chester it is legal to kill someone in the providing that they stole your sheep and that you do it with a bow and arrow. And as a person who has been to Chester and seen the age of the area and therefore the tremendous opportunities to hide- it still tickles me
Most ridiculous British law:
1. It is illegal to die in the Houses of Parliament (27 percent)
2. It is an act of treason to place a postage stamp bearing the British monarch upside-down (seven percent)
3. In Liverpool, it is illegal for a woman to be topless except as a clerk in a tropical fish store (six percent)
4. Mince pies cannot be eaten on Christmas Day (five percent)
5. In Scotland, if someone knocks on your door and requires the use of your toilet, you must let them enter (four percent)
6. A pregnant woman can legally relieve herself anywhere she wants, including in a policeman's helmet (four percent)
7. The head of any dead whale found on the British coast automatically becomes the property of the king, and the tail of the queen (3.5 percent)
8. It is illegal to avoid telling the tax man anything you do not want him to know, but legal not to tell him information you do not mind him knowing (three percent)
9. It is illegal to enter the Houses of Parliament in a suit of armour (three percent)
10. In the city of York it is legal to murder a Scotsman within the ancient city walls, but only if he is carrying a bow and arrow (two percent)

OMG ROFL number 3 is just so WTF?! hahaha. I mean topless fish store clerk? what? What kinda fish are they selling in Liverpool? razz
I read somewhere that in the state of Washington it's illegal to have sex with a virgin. o.0 There are alot like that for the state of Washington. I think it's to help prevent child abuse but some of them are just so wonky.
I love these dumb laws. Some of them are just so out there it's like the people who passed them must have been high or something.

In Texas:
It is illegal to milk another person's cow.
Up to a felony charge can be levied for promoting the use of, or owning more than six dildos. xd xd xd xd

I can only assume some sort of fine for your family. I live near this mini Sydney Harbor bridge and every few years some one will try and jump, last time the police talked this women down then she got given a penalty because you're not aloud to climb the bridge. Which I thought was a bit harsh; as if she wasn't already bummed Xx da qiao xX lol! What is the consequence for dying in the Houses of Parliament?! rofl
