OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD.
Okay, seriously.
OH MY GOD.
WHAAAAAA.
SUKI.
URSA.
ZUKO.
SUKI.
SOKKA.
HARU.
ZUKO.
SUKI.
*deeeeeeeep breath*
Okay. I'm good.
*devolves into string of gibberish*
SUKISUKISUKISUKI. Okay, I'm not a Sukka shipper (obviouslyyy) but OH MY GOD IS SHE ALIVE?! NO. SERIOUSLY. HOLY ********. Was Azula just toying with him? Is she seriously alive?! WHERE THE ******** IS SUKI?!
ZUKOZUKOZUKOZUKO. He grew a backbone! I'm so proud!! That speech to his father... EEEEEEE. Zuko, you have REDEEMED yourself. GOOD ******** JOB, NUMBNUT.
URSAURSAURSAURSA. SHE'S ALIIIIIVE MAYBE. My theory was RIGHT!!! BAAAAAHAHAHAHAAAA! She DID kill Azulon to save Zuko! HUZZAAAAAH!!!
SOKKASOKKASOKKASOKKA. HOLY CHARACTER GROWTH, BATMAN!!! I was SO... EEEEEEE!!! GO SOKKA!!! You are AWESOME!!
NOW I HAVE TO WAIT 'TIL DECEMBER FOR NEW EPISODES. DDDD: AAAAAAAUGH. *headbutts something*
Okay. So, calming down a little bit...
AWESOME fighting. HOLY hell. I was just gawping at it half the time going, "...Damn..."
No Smellerbee and Longshot... graaaargh... They aren't dead. They AREN'T. I'm telling you.
Haru moustache, teehee. He looks like Will from PotC. Seriously. I dissolved into a string of giggles once I saw him.
We finally get to hear The Duke's voice! This may be totally inconsequential, but I'm somewhat of a Freedom Fighters nut. It makes me happyyyyy.
Due, Tho, and Hue! xDD I love them. <3
What else what else what else...
I liked how even though it was a serious battle they managed to slip funny bits in. Like the bit with Sokka in the hole... ^^ And, also, "Oh, sounds like the fire's back on."
OH! Of course, how could I forget? The Kataang kiss! As soon as I saw it I went, "WOAAAAAH NO WAY!" I think Zutarians are beginning to get a bit homicidal.
HOLY TOKKA, BATMAN!!! Was I the only one who noticed quite a bit? Like, WOW! I know there was more than I can recall off the top of my head. I need to take notes next time I watch... this time I was very "OMGWTFAAAAAAAAAH". Not anything really explicit, just little bits of protectiveness or teamwork or whatever... LIKE TOPH FCKING TACKLING SOKKA AWAY FROM THE LIGHTNING BOLT. biggrin
Oh my god, there's too much to take in...
A nice little Maiko mention, where he apologizes to Mai for leaving... I'm a bit put-down that she didn't pop up and go with him. But, hm, we'll see how she reacts when she finds out he's left.
But YEAH, Zuko growing a backbone!! I am seriously proud. I thought he'd never get out of the damn rut. I'm very very proud. As soon as I saw the little bit in the preview with him after the war council, I was like, "...Oh my god, is he going to do something non-stupid for once?"
I wonder where Ursa is. I mean, okay... this is how it works out for me. 1. She's dead. 2. They've met her before but they didn't realize it was Ursa. 3. Ozai's lying. Those are the most likely options. I mean, what are they gonna do, search the whole dang globe for her? They don't really have time. I dunno. There's gonna be something that still needs to be revealed about it, something throwing back to old data... y'know, clues or something. It can't just be like, "WHOOP, here I am!"
Also, I'm looking forward to the confrontation when Zuko arrives at the Western Air Temple after the Gaang+others have arrived. Aang: WTF YOU FOLLOWED US Katara: YOU LIED TO ME AND BETRAYED ME I HATE YOU Sokka: KIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILL *chopchopchop* Toph: Aaand who are you? Lawl. But, yeah, it should be interesting. I wonder if they'll believe that he's on their side.
ANYWAYS OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD. *collapse*

I should have just come here to vent my squeeing while I was watching it! My poor fiancee has to put up with this once a week but since someone kindly pointed out the Avatar-watch site he had to sit through three episodes of fangirling out! ^^
I think Suki was the most surprising for me! I'm so excited to know she WAS alive at one point, it's the only way Azula could have known. I think the giving up bit was a lie, Suki's not that weak/shallow. But she had to have kept Suki a prisoner a while to get that much out of her. Hopefully Suki just escaped and Azula's being a 40 foot tall purple... pink horned... I forget her whole line but that just made me LOL. Plus I'm amazed at what an awesome liar she is, it's just so... Azula!
As for Tokka: did you see Toph take Sokka's hand? I saw that and was all "Oh, it's Tokka!"
Heh, the moment I saw the first kiss I'm all "it's an halucination" (the ep when Aang couldn't sleep) but I think that was what drove him to the real kiss. The one I saw and immediately said "The Zutaran's are going to go on a rampage"
I think it's pretty much obvious Ursa had something to do with Azulon's death. I just hope the reason she was only banished was because Ozai has a bit of a heart and actually loved his wife. I hope, I doubt. He IS Azula's father, afterall. Mmmm... I wonder if I go back and watch the first two seasons over again if we might see someone who looks suspiciously like Ursa. At least it would give us something to do until December. crying
The bit you said about awesome battle but good tidbits of humor is probably why I love this show so! It's true! And I like awesome, but I needs me the humor. I love Sokka for the humor. <3
I too wonder what will happen when Zuko meets them. He's betrayed them once (sorta) when he went with Azula. It'll take a good long while before they'd actually accept him. I bet Iroh will find them first though... he's awesome like that and they already trust him. Though I do think Zuko turning, though with good character development behind it, was a bit... predictable and cliche. *Sigh* Though him staying with his father would have been most hateful. Oh yes, my prediction on the lightning redirecting came to nothing. I knew as soon as Iroh taught him that that it would be important to the show! But... I thought it would have to do with Azula! Who knew Ozai was a lighting bender?! For some reason that took me by total surprise. But my prediction was that Zuko would forget to channel it through his stomach and take massive damage (possibly dying after having just realized his mistake and righting his wrongs in a most heroic death scene, taking out Azula or possibly Ozai with him... robbing Aang of his glorious victory.) Ah well... we can't have it all.
Anyways, hope you don't mind my squeeing all over your thread, I had to release it somehow. ^^;

Naw, naw, I don't mind, I love people squeeing with me.
I started screaming like every 5 seconds, and my mom was like, "Caaalm down..." I'm like, "BUT OMG SDLGSOGIH" I started pounding the desk at one point. I don't remember what it was. I think it was when Zuko was making his little speech. xD

Wow, i've finally decided to post in one of my Avatar guilds..xDD
AND I WILL JOIN YOUR SQUEELING!!!! Me and my sister say the epi's last night...And we cried xD
I was so excited when i heard of the "plan to make ozai firelord" and the "treacherous things" Ursa did to save Zuko...because I KNEW she had something to do with Azulon's death. KNEW IT. I think in the episode "Zuko Alone" it hinted on that, when not to long after Azulons funeral Zuko went to his father asking where she was...(Ozai looked sad then...Really sad...)
I AM SO PROUD OF ZUKO. HOLY CRAP. Yeah, its a bit cliche, but the way he didn't wasnt. HE SHOT HIS FATHERS OWN LIGHTNING BACK AT HIM, BLOWING HIM OFF HIS FEET. OMFG. *squeels* What happened in "The avatar and the firelord" probably was tha catalyst, and the war meeting in "nightmares and daydreams" (which I am assuming was about the invasion, since Zuko didn't seem suprised about it) was the "straw that broke the camels back" for him. Made him see.
I doubt Mai will come with him. :/ She cares about him, alot, but I don't think she'd have the backbone herself to betray Azulas friendship.
And how could Smellerbee and longshot be dead @.@ I think after the episode "Lake Laogai" (since i don't recal seeing them after that) they went to bury jet, and went maybe on thier own?
And the fact that Ozai was a lightning bender isnt terrably suprising. Azula is, Iroh is...Maybe the "Select few" Iroh mentined in an epi were the royal family..? Perhaps its a family trait..? I've no doubts that Azulon was one.
Someone on Avatarspirit.net said that Lily, the wife of the wandering minstrel guy in "The cave of two lovers" looked suspiciously like her, Mainly because she has "Firenation gold" eyes, and the same shaped lips.....I don't think thats her though...
As a loyal Katang shipper....I SCREAMED WHEN THEY KISSED. HOLY CRAP. BEST SHIPPING SCENE EVER. EVER!! (besides all of the sokka ones....There is jsut too many...and they got a bit old..xD)
Sorry zutarians :/
*sigh* THANK YOU by the way for making this thread. I cannot tell you how much i've wanted to get this all out. @.@

That's right, Zuko wasn't surprised! I hadn't thought of that. Heh, that probably was what the war meeting was about.
Yeah, Mai's so used to following orders and is probably too afraid of Azula to go after Zuko. We also don't know what he wrote in that letter, perhaps he told her he was coming back and she'll wait for him. I must admit, I didn't like them as a couple in The Beach, but in these last two episodes they were such a cute, sweet, and couply couple. I love how Mai said ordering around servants would make him feel better. XD
And yeah, even though Zuko WAS cliche I will admit it made me squee like a little piggy!

On the Mai helping Zuko idea:
Hm. I'm kinda split on it myself. You guys all say that she's used to following orders, blahblahblah, which could hold very true.
BUT.
*crazytheorymodeACTIVE*
Remember in The Headband, when they're on the little picnic? And then Azula comes and interrupts them... you're well-versed in this episode, I imagine. THE LOOK. The look that Mai gave Azula. That is what gives me hope.
Besides, Mai isn't as obedient as she seems. If it were Ty Lee in the same situation, it'd be quite different, but it's MAI. She's disobeyed Azula before.
*crazytheorymodeATMAXIMUMCAPACITY*
Mai strikes me as a sort of person who, if it suits her needs, she'll go along with something, because it doesn't really matter to her that much. But, Zuko DOES matter to her. I don't think she'll stand by and do nothing. I'm not saying she's going to come over to the Gaang's side to help Zuko directly. I'm thinking more of subtle sabotage.

Mai would follow Zuko to the ends of the earth if he would have told her. Mai won't always follow orders like Ty Lee. She will simply do what is needed of her and if she feels like it isn't worth it then she will back out. Even though she is best friends with Azula, she will choose Zuko in the end. I mean seriously, she has a portrait of them in her bedroom!
I loved the kataang kiss. Katara's reaction was awesome.
Oh, could someone tell me where Toph took Sokka's hand? I think I missed it.
I bet Suki and Ursa are alive. We'll see them again.
Haru is manly! rofl
Zuko redirected lightning! Now if only he could bend it.

I think I'm the ati-normal-avatar-fangirl.
I am on my knees begging to the creators to not make Zutara happen. I'm all for Zuko dating Mai if that keeps him away from Katara because Zutara just irks me. I'm not a shipper of anything, even Kataang, but I just don't think after all of season 1 and 2 t have Katara love him in 9 episodes (shudders)
I still did kinda like Zuko... which is saying a whole lot since before this episode I hated Zuko and spent most of his scenes ever since season 1 screaming at him several interesting comments. Which is wy I love Avatar abridged because he just captured what I was seeing of Zuko since the first minute I saw him. Heck, I was doing the "daddy doesn't love me" bit before Abridged existed. XD
I loved how he just said almost everything I have said. He just missed "I was a stupid emo boy and I'll stop the annoying angst and I'll grow a new set of balls starting now" xd But the moment he admited he didn't give a crap about honor, all he wanted was his love; that Iroh was more than a father and that he was an ungrateful brat before that moment... I was like: OH lord he has seen the light! Has he been watching avatar abridged or something? Thanks whoever came up with giving him a brain.
Seriously I'll become an Zuko fangirl if the boy keeps it up.

I suppose she really does care for him and it's one of the first times she's really cared for something since her stifled childhood.
But I'm wondering how she would go after him? I mean, Zuko probably even told her not to follow him. She doesn't know where he went, and might not be able to find him. So I'm guess she probably wants to follow him but doesn't have the ability to. I could be wrong, I hope I'm wrong.

Shaolina but I just don't think after all of season 1 and 2 t have Katara love him in 9 episodes (shudders) Uhm, I, and many others, think Katara started liking him since season one, the episode called "The fortune teller", when Aunt Wu tells her she will marry a powerful bender, then when Sokka makes a comment about aang being a "powerful bender", Katara starts to think about it more. If you want more evidence, I've got tomes full xD Even though Mai does what Mai wants, she hasn't proved very...Capable...of following someone across the world. She cares deeply about Zuko, but she couldn't follow or find him, Azula would probably realize what she was up to, and stop her, even hurt her to stop her (since no one is really truely Azula's friend...xD) She might want to do it, and try, but her additude isnt so "go get em", even about Zuko... Allthough..She could become a bit of a "double agent", and stay at the firenation capital to learn all she can, to tell Zuko. That might be the best help she could be. Though, adding her to the Aang Gang WOULD bring up some HILLARIOUS situations, specifically interacting with Katara, since along with Toph, shes almost an exact opposite of Katara..xDD I still wanna see ursa alive....<3...She has become one of my favorites....For lots of reasons...

Phew. I'll read what you all wrote in a minute, but here is my two cents.
First of all, I think I screamed more during these two episodes than in all the others combined.
Pss! I told you guys Zuko'd join the Gaang.
I agree though, his entry into the Fab 5 will be interesting. (5? I'm going to count Appa untill Zuko joins them. Then it will be fabulous.)
Whoops. Forgot where I was going with this. That's what happens when I walk away from my computer for more than 30 seconds. ADD FTW!
Anyways, I'm hoping that the Kataang moment will doom it forever. Then, M&B will have found a way to make both fandoms happy, because there was Kataang, just not for long.

Yeah, much as everyone thinks this dooms the Kataang, the kiss actually solidifies it. Unlike the Zukai kiss in the season preview, it doesn't scream "red herring." There's enough character development and plot behind to keep this couple going, it's not something out of the blue that the producers seemed to put up just to get a reaction out of the fangirls. Like Innara said: Katara's been getting closer to Aang for a while now. She first really noticed him in the episode with Aunt Wu, and they've steadily been relying on eachother and SAVING eachothers' lives since episode one! Plus Katara really did the all out rescuing of Aang in the season two finale, then nursed him back to health. Ever heard of the nurse complex? Go watch Back to the Future again if you don't remember his Mom falling for him because he got hit by a car. Ew!
