We've all run across them once or twice, those NPCs that we've run into, read about, and in some cases fought or worked with.

Sascha/Myca Vykos: Age makes some Elders complacent, but it has made Vykos a true monster of the Sabbat. It is witty, urbane, and sophisticated despite it's androgynous appearance. However, to offend Vykos is to court death as it is a master of Vicissitude and Thaumaturgy. Vykos featured heavily in a Sabbat campaign I participated in. Needless to say, the thought of diablerizing Caine's Angel never even entered our minds.

Marcus Vitel: Former Roman soldier who masquerades as a Ventrue using a clasp that gives him a shadow (he's a Lasombra). The man is paranoid (not delusional) and rules D.C. with an iron fist. He eventually plans to start a nuclear war using his contacts in government and then remake the world in his image. This guy was ten different kinds of fun, especially when we had to talk him out of blowing up China.

Caiphas Smith: This guy has made more than one Vampire in my campaigns piss their pants. He has a Faith rating of 6, is an independent ghoul, possesses hedge magic and can literally think of nothing better to do with his time than kill Vampires.

Mr. Nicholas: He's a Marauder whose delusion is that he believes the world is a good place. The only hint to his true identity is that he knows how to drive a sleigh. Helloooo evil Santa!

Voormas, the Grand Harvester of Souls: I love this guy. He is either a genius, a madman, or a Jhor-tainted shadow of a Euthanatos. Ironically, he is one of the most powerful Euthanatos in history and yet he is terrified of his own death.

Lucita y Aragon: A stereotype from which stereotypes are born.

Alleyman222: An a*****e of the first degree. A half-Indian White supremacist who uses his Imbued powers not only to kill monsters, but to hunt the racially "impure" and those Hunters of different races. For some reason, he can survive death as he has gotten up off of a morgue slab and walked off. He's a Wayward.

Ingrid Bauer - The Original Iron Maiden, Inquisitor General, and all-around Mage-burning, Vampire-staking, monster-torturing head of the Society of Leopold. I've got a mixed chronicle where two inquistors make some "new friends," and subsequently find themselves on their boss' bad side. They're praying she doesn't catch them, because they know she'll be happy to use all 212 torture techniques that she unbanned when she took office.

Heylel Teomim - After selling out the rest of his cabal to the Order of Reason and claiming it as an attempt to further unite the Traditions, this Mage's true legacy is still unknown. Was he the filthy traitor history marked him as? Was he a martyr for the cause of unity? And just what the heck was with the whole hermaphrodite thing?

Lucifer - The First Angel has been stuck on Earth for a long time, pursuing his own mysterious (and some might say "unholy") agenda. Despite billions of people cursing his name, and several secret societies dedicated to locating him, he's remained hidden by learning how to operate in plain sight. You never know when he might pop up, or in what guise... For all anyone knows, he might be the real player behind the Jyhad, the Ascension War, and the Triat.

Who could?

On another note, The leader of The Skeletal Legion (Wraith), if just because he had the balls to take on Charon and start a civil war which almost destroyed the underworld (which they only resolved by wiping the entire thing from the memories of All Wraiths Ever)

Marcus Vitel sounds great character. And great fun too. biggrin I want him to be my sire. x)

Our most memorable characters has been Bishop Samuel Claxton, Noddist Ventrue AT. Quite classical concept of old school ruling with iron fist and steel and praising of Caine. What made this char special was the man who played him. Charisma and Intimidation ratings at the top, speaking in game terms. This is larping, by the way.
Always calm and composed, and he never hesitated to grab another Cainite by the collars and throw a man to wall if some delusional idiot had an idea to speak openly against him. Sir Samuel Claxton was and is living warlord that can make adult players s**t their pants.

I'm going to go ahead and put any WOD cred I might have on the line and write that Samuel Haight was not a bad concept as a character, or even as terrible as he is made out to be, but he should have been restrained solely to the Werewolf game line.

Maxwell Carpenter: He has a hat that says "Mean SOB." Originally a roaring 20s gangster who was fed through a meat-grinder and turned into a Spectre, he spent about 70 years screwing with Wraiths and killing Mafioso connected to his untimely death. He also ended up in Hunter after stealing a body not his own and luring Hunters to their deaths by using Hunter-Net. Power-wise, not much short of a Rank 4-5 werewolf should entertain the idea of tangling with him alone.

Jan Pieterzoon: I have never used this guy in a game but I know people who have. He plays the role of a "noble, upstanding" Ventrue and the humble servant of the great Hardestadt who really has the best interests of all vampires at heart. However Pieterzoon's feeding restriction is so reprehensible that I haven't found a group of players who I would even be willing to try him on.

Douglas Netchurch: A Malkavian who nearly broke the 4th wall of the game (he studies Vampires and understands the game mechanics to a degree) and subconciously Dominates vampires and ghouls into consenting to his mad experiments.

Theo Bell: The Samuel L. Jackson of Vampire. "I have had it with these motherf*ckin' Shovelheads in this motherf*ckin' city!"

Jan Pieterzoon's feeding restriction was that he could only feed from rape victims. He maintained a chain of battered women's shelters to provide him with a steady supply of blood. In at least one instance, Pieterzoon has used his powers of Dominate to create a victim for him to feed on.

Theo had no love for the Anarchs or the Shovelheads. The Anarchs are too short-sighted for him and the Sabbat he's seen up close and personal so he has no romantic illusions about what they represent. The only thing that has kept Theo from going Autarkis is his loyalty to his Sire, Don Cerro.

Let's give the ultimate Werewolf boogeyman every bit of the credit he deserves. At the time of his death, the skinner was a grand total of: Child of Gaia kinfolk, Skindancer Theurge werewolf, and Orphan mage. He possessed knowledge of several Thaumaturgical rituals and paths (movement of mind 3, lure of flames 2, weather control 2, and spirit thaumaturgy 1). That's not taking into account his powers as a wraith (I've yet to use him after his death, but my crew had tons of fun with his tricks and traps while alive.)

If any story exists that would better get the lesson to respect kinfolk across to new pups, I don't know it.

As far as other memorable personas?

The Dandelion hill sept- Crazy werewolf cannibals, 'nuff said.

I started to read clan novel Ventrue again to find that missing fact. Darn its good. Part with dominate and getting needed blood was quite clever, with the touch of humanity and 'must do' things.

Lord Virgil- Came around cause I wanted to give the samedi an Antediluvian..of sorts, slaughtered most all the Tremere and Giovanni, and Diablerized their Antediluvians to avenge the deaths of his sire and his mentor. the only discipline he can't abuse is thaumaturgy, but that's cause he's magic resistant. whith an army of vohzds created from his own flesh 200,000 strong, he could start or stop gehenna on a whim. plus he's un-bondable.

In addition to all this he eats all but the strongest werewolves for breakfast, lunch, dinner, brunch, and the midnight snack, by draining their souls, blood and finally consuming their flesh, much the same way a dementor steals souls.

I once nearly destroyed a player for being inactive by introducing her to Michael, not the arch-angel, just the ancient Toreador who claimed to be the angel.

While she was going losing her mind wondering why her porcelian doll was talking to her the other players got to s**t their pants being caught in the middle of an all out search for this doll by Samuel Beckett, Sascha Vykos, Hesha Ruhadze. Anatole was there too, but he didn't do too much.

Hesha still shows up every so often as he gained a respect for one of the PC's, the one responsible for saving everybody.

Come on Douglas Netchurch is basically a vampiric Deadpool (in the breaking the 4th wall sense) mixed with Professor X. And Theo Bell, everygame needs somebody to feel the Sam L. void.

The two most powerful vampires you never want to have to deal with:

Lambach Ruthven: The single most powerful vampire in the Tzimisce clan, and is afraid of his own shadow. You'd be too though if you were in his shoes.

Kemintiri: Either the greatest Setite to have ever lived or a threat to the entire clan.
