The referee stood up to the battleground selector and did the ever-important job of spinning the wheel. The audience was silent as the arrow hovered above potential field choices, until it stopped at the chosen arena: Water field! Five large platforms float on the surface of the deep pool, four forming a diamond formation around the single platform in the center. While land pokemon can move around on this field, it was mainly built for water-types. Rules prevent the freezing of the water. Dice roll here

The officer strided up to the podium overlooking the pool below. This was a tough field for the Skitty's first battle, but it was Aura's first battle too, wasn't it? She was a Fire type, so this place will be even harder for her.
"Let's go Tomfoolery!" She cried out and flung the Pokeball to the center platform.
The orb rebounded and a small kitten appeared in a flash of red. He mewled as ferociously as he could, in hopes in intimidating the opponent.

Stepping onto the podium, Jen gave the familiar field a glance-over before reaching down and unhooking Auras' pokeball from it's holder.
"Alright Aura! Show this little kitty that you bite! GO!" Jen tossed the pokeball towards the platform nearest her podium. A re-bound and in a burst of red light, a pale colored Growlithe appeared on the field.
Aura looked around at the unfamiliar surroundings before her ears perked at the noises from across the pool. Staring at the Skitty, she tilted her head back and let out a howl straight towards the ceiling in response to the cat cry.

Tomfoolery gave Aura another vicious snarl, which caused Piney to shake her head in frustration. It might be just hot-blood, but she didn't need any more Pokemon running out of control in another battle. Especially in this same setting. "Ok! Cool it! Use a Double-edge and make it count!" Double-edge? Was he suppose to charge at the Growlithe with enough speed to fly across the water? Easy enough.
Taking a running start, Tomfoolery leaped at her as fast as his little legs would let him. He dove down headfirst with startling speed.((HP: 700/700)) ((Dice roll in here.))

"Aura! Bounce on the platforms and get behind that Skitty!"
Using a bit of speed, Aura jumped and, like a giant springboard, used the platform beneath her paws to jump out of the way just as the Skitty sailed past. After a few more assisted bounces, Aura spun around on the slick surface and faced her opponents' back side.
"Okay, Let's try that TM move I taught you yesterday! AERIAL ACE!"
Aerial Ace? Wha....OH yeah! She knew that attack! As her forepaw began to glow a silver/white, Aura darted forward with increased speed towards the tiny kitty. At the last moment, just before she made contact, Aura swiped her paw at the air behind Tomfoolery, sending a blade of white light at him.(( Dice Roll here!HP: 700/700))

Tomfoolery was charging too fast to notice that the Growlithe had leaped out of the way in the nick of time. He braced himself for an impact, but it never came.
He glanced around wildly, wondering where the heck his opponent had gone. Still in the air, he heard a whooshing noise behind him and realized she went.Piney watched as the Aerial Ace struck Tomfoolery across the back, and let out a sigh of relief when seeing that he didn't fall off the edge of the platform. A cat's dislike of water must hold true for this kitten. They still couldn't afford to miss though. Piney thought rapidly and issued another command: "Faint Attack!" Tomfoolery quickly regained his balanced and turned to Aura. Using the few shadows that this arena had, he swiftly jumped around, until he managed to get close enough for a solid tackle.((HP: 600/700)) ((Dice roll here.))

Aura started at the unusual attack; confused, she tried to pin-point from where he would strike....but it was too late. A noise to her right: as she turned to that direction, Tomfoolery came flying out of the shadows and hit her in the side. This sent she sliding across the slick surface of the platform....
Jen sighed in relief when she stopped at the edge of the platform, Aura would not have lasted long if she had hit the water. As Aura struggled to her feet, her trainer pondered a possible counter......Then the command rang out across the field towards perked ears:
"AURA! Try your Bite!"
Crouching down, Aura pinned her ears against her head and let out a vicious growl at the Skitty. Barking loudly at the cat pokemon, she pounced at the pokemon with her fangs bared to their full length. HP: 500/700 DIce roll here: [x]

Tomfoolery saw the Bite attack coming, and charged right at her instead of having the common sense to flee from the Growlithe's fangs.
He was hoping to counter her before she had a chance to chomp down on him, but he was too slow. Her jaw wrapped around his back, and he squeaked in surprise and terror.What... was he doing? That was no way to fight a battle! Piney shook his Pokeball in frustration and tried to focus on the situation below. "Doubleslap her! Just keep on slapping until she lets go!" Tomfoolery flailed his tail around, hearing Piney's command. But since she was biting down on his back, it was hard to hit her with enough force to knock her off.
Hissing, he lashed his tail around in an attempt to Doubleslap.((HP: 500/700)) ((Dice roll in here.))

Aura gave a muffled yelp as the Skittys' tail slapped her across the muzzle multiple times, she wanted to drop him but.....her trainer had not-
"Aura! Drop the Skitty and back off a bit before he really hurts you!"
FINALLY! Dropping the annoying bundle of pink fur (spitting Tomfoolery out is the more proper term from the audience's point of view), she slid backwards a bit; she shifted and whimpered a bit as the cuts on her muzzle began to sting something fierce.
Let's see.....if close-combat wouldn't work, then maybe they could....Yes! They could! Smacking the railing of the Podium, Jen hollared her next command to her Growlithe:
"Back up and use Flamethrower!"
Bouncing to the platform behind her, flames flickered within her closed muzzle as Aura charged up the flame attack. Opening her strong jaws, she let loose a stream of angry orange/red flames at the kitty-cat.

Those flames were definetly something that Tomfoolery doesn't want to fling himself at! In panic mode, he ran as fast as he could away from the furious wisp, until he reached the edge of the platform. Suddenly, his fear of getting burned or soaked were put on trial. What would he rather do?
The flames decided that for him. A spurt from the fire scorched the spheres on Tomfoolery's tail, making him emit a horrible yowl. He was forced to scrunch his muscles and hurled himself across the water, whether he had enough momentum to carry him over or not.
Piney clenched her teeth as the Skitty threw himself to the platform, and his front paws scraped against the sharp edge before he scrambled up onto dry land.
"Good job!" She shouted, filled with relief. Though the flames from the Growlithe might not be dying out quicky, she had the right attack for this moment. "Use Assist!"
Oh? Assist? Tomfoolery hated using Assist, since his teammate uses moves that was difficult to pull off without being a Psychic type.
Focusing his thoughts on that purple feline, ghostly paw shapes appeared in the air, before forming itself into solid star shapes. The Swift flew right at the Growlithe, with the Skitty's surprised face of actually doing it right.

Crying out as the stars hit her head-on, the young growlithe was forced to jump out of the way. As she landed on another platform, Aura whimpered and shook herself; she was scared.....she knew she was loosing but Aura didn't want to disappoint her friend.....
"AURA! C'mon, I know you can do it!" Jen called words of faith to her pokemon. Even if Aura did loose, then they would just have to come back for a re-match! "Let's try Overheat!"
Growling at her opponent, flames rippled around her small body as the fire pokemon concentrated.....Suddenly, she lifted her muzzle to the ceiling and howled as the flames burst outward in a shockwave which sent the power in all directions.

Another fire attack?! Tomfoolery didn't have enough sense to dive into the water, and the massive heat pulse burned him all over, not just his tail this time.
He yowled in pain and rolled around on the platform to put out the flames that were covering his pelt. Though many of the flames were put out, burnt fur showed as black smudges on him and he smelled horribly...Piney was irritated that his fear of water was costing him, but that was something to deal with later. If he misses even once, he'll lose the battle! "Let's try another Faint attack!" She called out, knowing that the move rarely missed. Licking the flame wounds, he stood up again, glaring at Aura. He's going to give her a Faint Attack of her life!
He zipped around on the platforms, jumping to one shadow to the next, hiding from the Growlithe's view. When he was close enough, he let out a furious growl and charged at her, claws extended.((HP: 200/700)) ((Dice roll in here.))

Aura howled and cried out as the sharp claws pierced her side, drawing blood. She whimpered and thrashed about, trying to make the pokemon let go. Several times, the pokemon almost went over the edge and into the pool.
Jen couldn't take it anymore, Aura was hurt and couldn't go on! It was best to surrender...for the both of them. Waving to the official standing at the edge of the field, her statement rang out across the arena; several of the fans sitting in the bleachers muttered in surprise at what was said: "STOP THE MATCH! I surrender!!"
The offical nodded and lifted the flag in Piney's direction. "The match is offically over! Jennifer has surrendered and the match goes to Officer Piney and Tomfoolery!"

Eh? Jen was stopping the match? Piney nodded at her decision and recalled Tomfoolery.
"You did awesome." She told him and glanced at the opponent across the stadium. She figured that she didn't want Aura to get hurt anymore, and she could see why. The poor Growlithe was near fainting!
"That was an extremely close match... Is your Pokemon ok though?"
