Starting last year, I have adopted the tradition of making Holiday cards instead of buying a bunch and sending those off. Who else makes cards? If you do, post some pics if you have some! ---- I was bored, so I took a picture of my supplies for this year and prettied it up in PS (you know you're bored when...). xp --- Hmm... if this guild had a Holiday card exchange... who would be interested?

They are cute aren't they! 3nodding
I did all my shopping at Michael's (the craft store). The prices are a little on the expensive side, but I'd rather do all my shopping in one place.

You can buy similar supplies from most dollerstores these days. If you have a Dollarama in your area, I'd highly suggest checking out their craft section!
I am totally interested in a holiday card exchange! But we'd have to finish it before December - December is the worst month for mailing things because the post office is inundated with folks mailing off things during that time.

Dollar stores do have pretty good stuff considering it's fairly cheap. Most dollar stores these days have a plethora of scrapbooking supplies that could send Michael's running for their money. It's the same stuff! That's true about the mailing problems... Perhaps a digital card/gift exchange? (Since we're all so artsy of course)

How cute! Love the penguins xd
I do have a Christmas exchange going, we could integrate the card thing with it ^_^ It might not reach everyone by Christmas, but it's not that big a deal right?

Your penguin card is so adorable. Though I could be biased because I love penguins.
This is making me want to try my hand at card making.

Aw snap. Now I wanna try making some. O__O You guys are like... killing my artist block. I love you. xd
My major downfall as an artist is my inability to design. I wanna try to spark that up. C:
My sister works at Dollar Tree. I'll ask her for a trip there again~

On levels of difficulty, card making is quite easy! All you really need to do (this is what I'm doing razz ) is glue paper together. Sounds simple! Then you can add embellishments (like ribbon and cute stickers!).
Try cutting strips of paper that are patterned and solid to have a cool striped effect.
Also look at how 'designer' gifts are wrapped: solid/patterned paper with contrasting ribbons. You could make your card look like a gift box xd
Then for Holidays, you can use colours like green, red, blue, silver, gold etc. Colours that contrast look nice (eg: blue + silver).
