It was then that the large male lay not far from where the little family slept, his paws crossed, watching out over the savannah. He had grown up in this little copse, he knew it was his motehrs favourite place and that the young cubs would be safe here. He was starting to get bored though, his paws constantly itchy these days, he longed for adventure.
Yawning he stretched out his paws and rested his chin upon them. Boredom required rest, it seemed. A sigh rolled over his lips, this place had been so much fun as a cub, as an adolecent, it just wasn't half as interesting.

Fortunately, or perhaps, unfortunately, the smallest of the newborn family would be disturbing that boredom. It was only a slight sound. But it was enough to be noticed by anyone still awake. Surprisingly, dispite her lack of sight, Kanye rarely made noise as she made her way around. Cautious paws moved lightly over the ground beneath her, only barely disturbing pebbles and long blades of grass.
One could only guess where she thought she was going. She herself didn't even seem to know as she stopped, head tilted, ears twitching at the sounds around her. Her entire body shook a moment with an uncontrolled shudder, tail twitching of it's own accord. But she did not try to turn back to the warmth of her family. She began moving again, seemingly in search of something.

The large golden males ears twitched as he heard the sounds behind him, raising a slim brow he got to his forepaws fairly quickly to search around. Of course, he mostly forgot to look down, searching out over the savannah for any approaching their little hideaway. No blots on the clear afternoon horizon though made him sigh and settle back in his laying position, that was of course until he realised the sound came from behind him.
Turning the yellow eyed male smiled. "Hello there Kayne" He whispers, his golden ears twitching forwards. "What are you doingup?" He smiles warmly at his sister a puurr rollingover his lips waiting for the little femme to join him.

The small cheetah jumped a bit at the voice, unseeing blue hues going wide a moment before she calmed, as much as normal for her atleast, moving to the voice of her largest brother. A slight smile came to her as her paws met with warm fur.
She slid up his side, nuzzling him as she settled down into the grass against the familiar warmth. "Afiya.. " Came the warm, wispy voice. " I can't sleep.. I didn't want to wake anyone else. " She said lightly, eyes shutting as she relaxed against him, enjoying the fresh air.

The big male smiled and shook his head lightly. His little siblings made him smile alot, they were so tiny. He couldn't remember being that little, though he supposed he must have been at some point.
With a tilt of his head he leant down and licked the top of his little sisters head. "it's okay to be wrestless Kayne" He puurrs, his voice becoming quiet and extremely gentle compared to his usual cocky rautiousness. "Just stay by me, mother would kill me if I let you wander off alone." He chuckled. "You know what she's like"

She squirmed at the lick, blind eyes opening as her head tilted upwards. " Will she always be like this towards me..? " She asked slowly, settling further into her elder half-brother's side as her own body gave a twitch and shudder. " I wont be like the rest of them.. I know that. "
A slight pout came to her as her eyes shut. " But.. Father manages well... Will I be able to? "

Afiya chuckled and looked at the little female with love in those great golden eyes. "Hey she's still like that with me kiddo. You just have to let her worry for you, she's someone to respect and love is our mother, she raised us three alone before she found Korou." he smiled whistfully and let his head drop slightly.
"You'll learn, you know Korou wasn't born blind, I knew him before he lost his sight, I hear tell that if you can't see from birth your other sences become better than anyone elses. I bet you'll be the best sniffer and hearer there ever was." He coos, a great careing smile upon his maw.

She tilts her head up at those words, ears perking. " ... Really? " She asked, before snuggling back into him meekly. " I could still do things that you can do? " It had worried her, thinking that she would never be able to try to hunt, even the the thought of going up against something too bad sent a twitch through her.
" I don't want to be... useless. " She muttered, more to herself, than the brother beside her, hiding her face in her paws.

The extra large male smiled gently and put a paw under the little females chin tilting her head upwards so he could look at those slated eyes. "You'll never be useless Kayne. There are jobs for everyone in this world. Look at father, he's adapted to a life he was not braught in to, he does very well with mother when hunting. Me I'm here to protect, it's my destiny to do so. You, you will find a place in the world and you'll perform that job perfectly." he smiles sweetly nudging his little sister playfully.
"Don't worry about such things any way, you are still a cub and as such should be worrying about playing games and ctaching bugs, leave the worrying to the adults okay?" he smiled and tipped his sister over gently then nuzzling at her soft belly fur. He hated to see her sad. She had no need to worry, he would look after ehr no matter what.

The sad expression would be gone in an instant as he flipped her over. and nuzzled. She just so happened to be terribly sensitive, and so she let out a squealing laugh as the touch tickled her, batting playfully at the much larger cheetah's nose. She couldn't help but smile as she squirmed against the ground on instinct to escape the tickling touch.
" Brother! A- Afiyaaaa! That tickles! " She managed to get out in a weak squeal between her giggles. She was very greatful to him for lifting her mood. Her mother and father gave understanding words, but they didn't understand.. And they never would, because even her father had once been able to see this world, and she never will. Afiya gave reassurance rather than trying to say that he understood, and that it would just be okay. He talked with her about the future she could have.
Smiling, she quickly, if a bit clumsily, captured his face in her small paws, leaning up to give him a lick on the cheek.

The large male cheetah smilesd as he played gently with his tiny sister. he found it so strange to see how tiny his half siblings were, though he knew only too well what a large cheetah he truely was. letting her wriggle from his tickling grasp he turned his cheek in to her lick and smiled.
"Why don't you catch some Z's hmm? You can keep me company while I stand guard." He smiled, he didn't want to ware his little sister out after all.

She smiled happily up to him as she gives a nod, shifting to squirm down him a bit, snuggling into the warm, soft fur of his side. She much preferred to sleep with her half brother than her other brother's and sisters. They always moved around, and there were far too many of them!
Curling into her brother's large side actually allowed her comfort and warmth enough to sleep, and it was a matter of moments before the blind young cheetah was sound asleep once more, thoughts of wandering away from her home, and of her own uselessness, long forgotten.

Afiya smiled lightly watching as his sister dozed off. Returning his gaze to his vigil, he let a slow sigh roll over his maw. His littest sisters future was uncertain but at least she was happy for now.
