This is for all the people who bought the Region 1 DVD that they sell in North America.
Are the DVDs the edited version that they aired on SciFi or is it the longer unedited versions that the Brits got to see? I was curious because if it's the edited version, I am going to spend money and buy me a Region Free DVD player along with the British Version of Season 3. (Yes I am that big of a dork.)

It should be unedited. The SciFi edits were merely to fit the time slot, which isn't a concern for a DVD release. However, there are apparently a few differences from the R2 DVD. This is quoted from ferallian on the Outpost Gallifrey forums:
as far as what i've read here are the differences so far:
cover: non reversible we're stuck with martha, the Master/Doctor pic is inside on the bit that slips out with the DVDs in it
Commentaries: we got the podcast on Last of the Timelords which is severely disappointing i was looking forward to listening to Barrowman, Tennant, and Agyeman, and the listing is therefore wrong in the booklet (as its the TARDIS crew that was listed for the commentary)
haven't gotten any further than that but i'll chime in when i find more differences
I don't know if the apparent loss of the cast commentary for 'Last of the Timelords' warrants importing the R2 or not. Also, are you sure there isn't already a built-in region hack for your current DVD player. I have an unmodified Yamaha DV-5750 that can be set to any region simply by opening the tray and pressing '9999' + whatever region code you want + . Of course your DVD player would also need to be able to read PAL discs and output an NTSC signal to your TV...

My parents bought it a long time ago when DVD players first came out. So it's pretty old.
