Welcome, this is a complex RPG with a storyline that is similar to many anime and Mid-evil stories mixed together. There will be bloody battles and there will be quite walks through a field of daisies. I hope you have fun, and please remember to read all the instructional post in this topic thoroughly. If you have questions check the FAQ's topic. If your question isn't there then send me a personal message. Most of the battle system is rarely used, so don't worry if you don't get it at first.

The Battle System is experimental and is subject to drastic change.

Characters:

Before you begin you must complete a character sheet. Everyone that joins will start at zero everything (unless otherwise stated to you.) We'll have the form up in a sticky. Do not alter the form for any reason, just fill in the blanks. This will include your rank, weapon description, custom attacks, etc. You must keep them updated at all times during the game. If you fail to do so you will get a warning. Three warnings equals a banning.

Factions:

Factions are the groups that oppose each other. Currently there are about three, however, as there are more and more people that gain power, more and more factions may emerge. If you wish to start your own faction, and you are a high rank, then contact me.

Power Number:

Your power number is the sum of all your abilities. Your weapons, attacks, potions, etc. will all be assigned a number. When you add those together to preform an attack or defense, that number is your power number.

How to Battle:

Offense:

When you want to attack, you state who you are attacking. You then post a detailed description of your attack. It must include the power of the attack, weapon power, potions, etc. everything you need to complete an attack. If the number that represents your power is higher then what your opponent can muster up, then your attack is successful, and you reap the benefits.

Defense:

When someone does the above to you you simply post a detailed defense, stating your weapon, it's abilities, & any special potions or objects you have bought. You do NOT use attacks in defense. If you are successful in defense and your power number is higher, then nothing happens. You are still in one piece.

Battle Results:

If you think that you simply win a battle then you are wrong. Higher your power number is, the harsher the attack, and the more points you get. You do NOT get anything if you are on the defense, only offense. If you kill your opponent you will also receive everything on them: weapons, money, items, etc.

If your power number is:

1-50 higher= Weak Attack
51-100 higher= Medium Attack
101 or more higher= Strong Attack

(Example) Say your power number is 43 and they got a 39. Then you hit them with a weak attack. If they got a 25 instead of 39, then you hit them with a medium attack. Ect.

Attacks:

For each attack you win, you get experience points. The more you have the more powerful you will become and you can gain more attacks. You can only use one attack at a time, of course. You can completely customize the names of your attacks and how they look as you complete them. However, they will have only the amount of power as your character can put into it. Also when you are thinking up your attacks don't over do it. If you are new, you can't have an attack that will blow up an entire city. You just aren't that strong yet.
No matter what you can use any attack that is at your power ability or lower. So when you progress you don't lose your previous abilities. To gain new attacks you may have to go into training, and certain attacks will require a certain amount of experience points.

Ranged Attacks:
Ranged weapons can give you an advantage in battle because you may attack an opponent before they even approach you for close combat.
However, ranged attacks are more difficult to achieve and subsequently have a lower Damage rate. They are as follows:
Weak attack: no damage
Medium Attack: 1/2 heart
Strong attack: 1 heart

If your power number is lower then the person's that you are attacking, then you simply miss.
In addition, you cannot make a ranged attack at Close Range.

Weapons:

You obtain weapons by either buying them, or taking them from an enemy that you killed. Each of your weapons can only have one ability. YOU CANNOT SWITCH ABILITIES OF YOUR WEAPONS. If you want different abilities, you have to buy a new weapon.

You can switch weapons at anytime between attacks. Just because a weapon has only one ability doesn't mean that your attack has to be the same each time. You have Rping freedom here.

Mass Attacks & Mass Defense:

Any Soldier may call for a "Mass Attack". This is an attack of two or more allies against a single opponent. In a mass attack, all the players add there power numbers together to collectively hit the defender. In retaliation, the defender may call for a "Mass Defense". This is where allies that are not currently engaged in combat can come to your aid.

Mass Defenses cannot be called unless being assaulted by a Mass Attack. That way, if you have the guts to attack a commander yourself, you are sure to face just them.

Experience Points:

For every battle you win, you get points depending on the strength of your attack. The points make you more powerful and they are how you increase in strength. You will be required to have so many of these points to buy certain weapons, potions, and to learn new attacks.

Weak Attack: 5 point
Medium Attack: 15 points
Strong Attack: 25 points

Health heart :

Hearts represent your life force. You only have five hearts. When all your hearts are gone you must return to Aekea and get healed. If you don't get healed, then your character might die, and you must start a new one. You will lose more heart depending on the strength of the attack. You do not lose heart if you win the attack.

If you lose to a:
Strong Attack you lose two hearts
Medium Attack, one heart
Weak Attack, half a heart

Healing & Healers:

How do I heal? To instantly heal you must have someone with healing abilities to come and post in the thread that the attack happened.
You have to have a different healer for every heart you've lost (depending on there abilities). If you lost two hearts, you need two separate healers to heal you, or one healer that can heal two hearts, and so on. There will be special places to be healed in every town (only up to four hearts) If you lose all of your hearts you can only be healed back up to four hearts unless you return to Aekea. This has to happen RP real time of course. You can't just pop there and then back. Even Light Bringers and Soul Minders can only heal four hearts unless they are at Aekea.

If you lose those four hears before returning to Aekea your character will die. If this happens you can always make a new one. WE want a dramatic death too, biggrin . So that pretty much gives you 9 hearts before you die. You cannot do anything (including battle) at zero hearts, besides talking.

So let's recap. You have 5 hearts. If you lose them you canNOT do anything until you are healed. You can only be healed 4 hearts unless at Aekea. If you lose those for hearts before returning to Aekea, you are dead!

Special Beings (Healer, Magical Beings, etc.)

You now have the option to be someone other than just a fighting brute. You can be one of these 'special' beings and a warrior if you want, but you can only be two things altogether. So, you can be a healer and magical being, or a warrior and a healer, etc.
You are NOT allowed to do any kind of unhuman-ish abilities unless you are a special being! There is a loop whole. If you wish not to be a special being but to have certain special abilities, you can appeal to me via pm.

Shops, currencies, training, etc.

If you want a new weapon, potions, or special items, then you would go to the shops. Each city will have there own shops that sell different items. This could greatly increase your power. You will be required to have so much experience points to buy certain things.

Training grounds are the places that you must go to gain new attacks. You can also learn certain attacks based on what weapons you have. You will be required to pay for the lessons as well as have enough experience points to train.

Honor System:

We can not enforce all the rules 24/7. This means that it is completely up to you if you cheat or not. However if we catch you, we will ban you ASAP. We expect the people to turn anyone in that cheats. This will make it more fun.

Storyline Background

We finally bring you the main storyline. There will be many stories but all will fit this one.

The Gaian Society started many hundreds of years in the past (about 1200 A.D.), when ten ships full of many races, sailed across the Great Sea. They landed on the Ilse of Gambino, though it was called the Ilse of Gaia then. The races started a great nation free from oppression.

The people of Gaia slowly spreed across the port on to the main land. It grew into a mighty nation with several major cities. Barton Town, Aekea, Derum, and the capital, Gambino (Now on Kingdom Island which is part of Gambino.) The population grew to large numbers.

About two hundred years later, the nation began to split. A great dictator rose to power in Durem. He slowly drew people to his cause. Now, half of the nation is part of his empire, including Barton Town, while the other half is still free.

The two co-existed for fifty years until the death of the Emperor, Comista. His heir then took over. This new heir did not get along with the republic. Many issues, that could not be solved, arose. This lead to war on behalf of both sides. Which side is right and which side is wrong? That's your opinion.

Now, emerging out of the mountains, in the far east, is the Sawn. They are a religious group with very strange powers and dress. No one knows what race they are. They are simply, Sawn.

Sawn believe that no violence is too terrible as long as it results in peace for them and all living creatures. They will fight for all slides helping slay all other factions. There only loyalty is to there own kind. They plan to take over and abolish the government to form a Utopian society. It would be peaceful and free of government.

Durem and Gambino have minimal fighting in them. The are save spots for there teams. Barton Town is the main place to fight, it is on the border of the two Faction's territories. It, however, is controlled mostly by Derum. Aekea will NOT have fighting in it. It is an agreed neutral zone. It is were you go to get healed and many other things.

This leaves us in the year 1462 A.D.

Travel between cities and other such places will by in accordance with the following lengths of time:
Isle of Gambino<----> Port of Gambino: 1 hour at most
Port of Gambino<---->Barton Town: 3 Days (must go around Bass'ken Lake)
Port of Gambino<---->Durem: 6 days
Port of Gambino<---->Akea: 5 days
Barton Town<---->Akea: 4 days
Barton Town:<----> biggrin urem: 4 days

These routes are given to give an idea of travel time. Most travel is done through these routes. If traveling to an area not specifically here or is somewhere in between, the distance to one of the defined areas should be given in the opening statement.
Travelers on horseback can reduce time taken by 1 day between stops. If traveling in a group, you can only travel as fast as your slowest member.
If Traveling by air, i.e. your character has wings, then you can reduce your trip by half.

Currency & Shops

Currency of course is money. This 'money' will be strictly for RP. Everyone will be alloted a starting amount of currency. This currency can be used to buy things from shops, personal affairs, and many other thing. You will gain more currency through buying, trading, & winning battles.

There will be at least two different sets of currencies; one for the Republic and one for the Empire. When first starting, you will get #100.00 in the currency that your hometown uses. You cannot use republic currency in the empire and vise versa. If you are an individual there is no standard on what you can or cannot accept for personal gain. If you are a shop owner and you are doing business for the shop, then you must accept the correct currency. Some cities may accept both.

As a shop owner you are required to deal fairly with everyone. You are also required to keep a daily log of sales in the 'crew only' subforum. This will help us minimize cheating. Also you can only keep 75% of what you make as a storekeeper, and if you have multiple characters you canNOT transfer all of your shop funds to a character (that you play) that you like better.

DO NOT try to cheat because we are keeping track of everyones account balance and item inventory. If you try to sneak something past the system then you will be banned.

You can be robbed! Anyone can come up and try to rob you, though it may not be successful. If you lose a battle and die, your killer can take all that is on you, including your money.

Here are the currencies and their proper names:

Republican Currency: Leogh (lo), is worth about 5 U.S. Dollars. Is the highest form of republican money.
Half Leogh, Is worth about $2.50.
Sonal (soh-nail), it is worth about $1.25. Is one forth of a Leogh.
Hath, is one tenth of a leogh.
Neogh (Ne-oh), is half of a Hath.
Pent, Is one hundredths of a leogh (a penny).

Imperial Currency: Synth, (sinth) is worth the same as a Leogh.
Cor, is one half of a synth.
Kent, is one fourth of a synth.
Gote (goat), is one tenth of a synth.
Porg, is half a gote.
Senp, is one hundredths of a synth.

Currency will be written as, #00.00. The first set of zeros stand for the highest form of currency and the second set for the lowest. So, it would be like #34.76 = 34 leoghs and 76 pents or 34 synthes and 76 senps.

Perhaps a certain weapon type that upgrades per rank.

Lets say the sword idea.

Rank 1 would be a short sword or possibly knife. Rank two would make it more powerful and longer and eventually two may be achieved on a much higher rank.
