Feo had decided to take his mother's advice, and not actively seek out Jinamizi. He understood where his mother was coming from; Feo had no idea where she had went. The bitterness of her leaving him, though, still haunted him, and instead of the bubbly personality that the male had, he just loomed around, not knowing what the next day may bring. Would she return? Or would she....not?

Feo was growing tired of looking up at the horizion every time he thought he heard something, so instead he did his best to try and mingle more with the huntresses of the pride, hoping to find out more information about things that were in the hunting ground. Perhaps someone would mention something of the dark lioness, and he'd have grounds to go search for her. No news like that had reached his ears yet, but that didn't mean he was going to quit.

He found himself behind pride rock, where he had met Jina, his ears swiveling around as he tried to pick through the voices of those around him. Maybe today...something would get his interest.

Another watchful lion was wandering near Priderock, however quite opposite Feo, Memetuka was hoping not to see the one she kept her eyes open for. She feared the moment that would inevitably come, when Shiri would realize that the lioness she had met by the waterhole was more than just a stranger of familiar colors. Especially if she'd joined the pride, as Meme herself had encouraged. Her worry and usual anti-social tendencies kept her close to her own den, usually, but now that the hares living with her had a family she felt they might like some time without her, and she without them.

Her walk took her to where she felt most at home, where she suspected Shiri might not stick around if she had joined.. and that was why she'd come to Priderock. She was tempted to go and ask her niece if Shiri had shown up, if she had joined, and in her hesitation she chose only to pace the large perimeter of Priderock.

Meme was not paying close enough attention, and was close enough to Feo when she noticed him that she was not likely to get away unnoticed. More than that, Meme might just have continued on without paying him any attention but he looked so attentive. It was a rather odd place to simply stand and listen..

Feo's attention wavered for a moment, as he felt like something different was around. Not that he knew what it was, but sometimes there was just that feeling that someone was paying a little more attention to you, more then just a glance. He shyly peeked around, trying to see if he could drop the feeling once he determined that no one was actually looking at him, but that wasn't to be.

His red eyes soon noticed that a lioness was paying attention to him, and quite closely. He jumped back, startled that he didn't notice how close she was before. Certainly he had walked very close to other lionesses before, but he just couldn't remember her standing there when he had moved this way to this 'post'.

"Umm...um hello," he nodded, giving her a little respect for his embarassed, obvious startled moment. "C-can I help you, ma'am?" The proper one he was, when he wasn't in a very comfortable position.

Being poorly socialized, Meme was too late in realizing that she was staring rudely at the young stranger- but when she did she immediately turned her eyes away and only hesitantly glanced back up when he spoke to her. She knew some conversation might do her some good, but this was a rather awkward start.

"I didn't mean to stare," she murmured, walking a bit closer so she could be heard without raising her voice too much, "I just.. wondered what you were listening for back here."

Almost true, though still awkward.

"Oh, uhh." Feo started, the tip of his tail flopping to and fro in the air behind him. So this felt awkward for her, too, maybe? She seemed well enough to not be awkward, but hey, Feo was not one to talk. The only ones he was every comfortable with freely was his family. And even then, the only girl he had talked to much before Jina was his mom!

"I'm actually looking for...umm, well, information on a friend of mine." With that pause, it was easy enough to tell that this 'friend' might be not just a friend. "So I listen to the huntresses' when they get back to see if they mention anything of her..." Wow, he sounded like a stalker alright. Stupid, stupid, he thought. Feo needed to learn when to not say what was on his mind.

Meme bit back a frown at Feo's own awkwardness, blaming her own awkward entrance for it. She sighed inwardly and decided to try to be a bit more cheerful and a little less awkward, if only to make him a little more comfortable. She didn't want to be a nuisance, and now that they started talking being gloomy wouldn't do.

She offered a meek smile, and luckily for Feo she did not see the potential stalker side of what he said. Having few good friends, she simply would never have thought of this as anything other than friendship. And by the sounds of it, perhaps something more..

"You've lost a friend?" she asked, not daring to ask if she might be able to help, considering this was the farthest the old girl had gone in a little while. Unless it was Shiri, she had noticed no one that would really stand out.

Feo bowed his head for a moment, a bit deeper then something of a nod. He did indeed feel a bit more comfortable when the lioness before him seemed to shake off her nervous appearance. Maybe Feo was just overreacting when he thought that she might think of him as a weirdo. He really wasn't, he just didn't know too well what he wanted to try and get across when he spoke to others.

"Well, yes," he said meekly, giving a bit off an embarassed laugh. "More like I keep thinking she's lost me. I was to meet her to find her mother, but..." He drifte doff, his red eyes averting away, as if their attention was being pulled to something on the ground. Even if, in fact, there wasn't anything there for him to really be fascinated by.

Meme managed to keep a smile on her face, which became easier when Feo laughed- but when he mentioned finding his friend's mother, she couldn't help but imagine Shiri looking for her. She did her best to shake off the surprise at that comment, and instead decided to offer her help, however pointless she knew it might be. It was the only want to know if she was overreacting.

"Who is your friend?" she asked, "Whe- er- maybe I've seen her?"

"Weeell," he began, a little hesitant on starting. His eyes soon found themselves back on the lioness' face. With a swallow, he began. "I met her just recently, to be honest, as she was peeking around the Pridelands looking for information on her mother. I offered to go with her, but when I returned after trying to let my own mother know that I would be gone for a time, she was gone by the time I had returned."

He shifted his weight again, but his mind gave him a kick. He didn't even really answer the golden lioness' question! Stupid fool. "Oh, her name is Jinamizi. She's a bit more distinctive because she's black, and has a rosey stripe down her back." He paused for a moment to let the information sink in. "I've just been trying to listen to see if anyone has mentioned an unfamiliar black lioness but....no luck." His ears slumped onto his skull. "I don't know what else to do."

Meme tensed as Feo started his explanation, without a name or physical description she had no way of knowing. For all she knew, Feo was as blind as Shiri when it came to what was right in front of him. Memetuka had spoken directly to Shiri, encouraged her to join the Pridelands, used a different name.. but they were so much alike in appearance, and still Shiri had not noticed. She didn't realize just how tense she was, or that she was holding her breath, until he said that the lioness he was talking about was named Jinamizi- at which she poorly hid a sigh.

She started when she realized her reaction, and immediately shook her head to draw attention from it.

"I've never seen a lioness like that, I'm sorry," she said apologetically, "But it's a big pride here, someone would see her sooner or later if she's around here. Why aren't you looking?"

Feo's left ear flicked forward when he heard the lioness sigh, wondering if maybe she did indeed know something, but it wasn't good news. Anticipation mixed with dread filled him for just a moment until he saw the lioness shake her head. So she didn't know. Well, it wasn't like he was any worse off asking her. Just the chance that someone might know was really starting to get to him.

He nodded in agreement with her. "True, but it seems no one I ask yet has known anything. There are times I wonder if I was only dreaming." He laughed, feeling sheepish about a lioness of his dreams, or something so silly as that. "And I haven't left the lands yet, as my mother has suggested that I have no idea where she could of gone, so how am I to track her down? Perhaps she will return some day, and that is why I merely sit here and wait."

His form drooped a bit in sadness, shoulders peeking around from his head as his head shrunk between them. Yes, it did bother him, and it really irritated him that he had next to no options. Maybe, maybe someone would have a clue as to where she went.

Watching how sad Feo was made Memetuka herself rather sad, and prompted her to take a seat rather than continuing to stand awkwardly. He had a good point- there was only hope that she was still here, no one could be certain unless they saw her. Which would explain why he sat so sadly in this spot hoping for news. It was sweet how dedicated he was, and part of her couldn't help but think back to how she had abandoned Abedari and their daughter. Had he been this sad, this hopeful? The idea made her stomach turn.

"Ah, she could have gone," she agreed quietly, not wanting to make him feel worse but not sure what else to say, "How long will you wait?" Another simple but potentially harmful question. Ideally, this Jinamizi would be back but from her own experience Memetuka knew that was not always the case. This young lion did not deserve to be so sad, how long would it go on?

Feo sighed. "I believe so, since she had only wanted to find her mother and return, but." His idea quickly fizzled. "I'm not sure, really. I don't know how long I'll wait but...since this is home, I guess I'll wait forever?" He knew that what he said could mean two things. That he would wait for her to return, period, or that his heart might wait for her. He didn't know what would happen in the future, but he was holding his hopes out that she would return.

"It seems stupid, I'm sure," he said with a shrug. "Young stupidity, but what else can I do? I'll wait for her however long I can." Something that could be considered admirable, as well as foolish nonsense. He certainly wouldn't tell his mother he'd wait forever for her! She's probably give him a good pop on the head for that.

It was times like this that Memetuka wished that she was better at giving advice, or that she at least had an optimistic view on such things. From her own experience, Jinamizi might well not be back for this lion- but that didn't mean she definitely wouldn't be. The sadness Meme saw in Feo made her feel even more guilty about the similar offense she had committed so long ago, especially since she was still under the impression that her daughter had been raised by her father. She couldn't not comment, it would be as bad as commenting- what she had to do was think of a nice way to say what she thought about it.

"A-as long it isn't your whole life," she said finally, carefully, "I mean, you can't sit back here everyday.."

Feo's attention had shifted to the horizion, to where the borders of the Pridelands lay, to where Jina most likely was. He felt that if he just stared there long enough, she might just appear there, and she'd return. But he also knew that those were silly, childish dreams. He tore himself away to offer Memetuka a shy smile.

"Perhaps not," he commented, his eyes shifting from hers to an unknown area past her. "Who's ever heard of someone waiting for their whole life? I'll probably wait as long as I can, though." Which could be his whole life. Or if not...maybe, just maybe...if someone else came along. Feo thought this was doubtful, as he felt he had seen all to be seen around here, but that didn't mean that another rogue could just pop up again.
