After meeting Duncan, Toquah had a lot to think about. Duncan had told him he had someone else inside him, but he didn't understand that that meant. There was only one of him, Toquah, and that was that. Oh, whatever. All this thinking was giving him a headache, and he didn't like headaches. The last one he had had knocked him out (maybe that was a migraine?) and when he woke up he was in a different place from the last time he went. He didn't understand how that had happened, but he had picked himself up and continued wandering. He had resigned to the fact that whenever he lost conscience he would end up, inevitably, in an entirely different place from where he last was. He couldn't think of why or how it happened, except that it did, and that was that. Until he could figure out why, he would just let it go on as something he did inevitably so. Ah, well.

Kelva was quite proud of herself as she left from the scene where Dharmesh and her had finished the race. This had been the first time the grown filly had ever openly befriended someone out of her own free will. Nimble hooves carrying her, she tossed her head with a gleam in those soft hued eyes.
She was feeling rather well and compliment with herself.
The sun was no longer an issue as she basked in its caresses. So silly of her to have thought otherwise. Like she'd melt with her solid form anyway. This made her laugh after her shyness. Sometimes Star Catcher's and Nanaki's daughter could be so naive. Now she was confronting her worries and just letting things as they were supposed to be.
Upon this lovely day she encountered a stallion, a uniquely colored one at that. Course Kelva herself wasn't the most mundane creation either being part of what her parents were. But that is what made the earthbound mare special. She noticed he seemed a bit distressed almost out of it, but her curiosity was getting the better of her. So, stepping out a little closer she announced her presence with a soft swish iof her tail, "Hello there."
It was simple, sweet, and to the point and she was feeling more confident now that she talked with Dharmesh.

He was mostly meandering along as he wandered around (again) contemplating himself. Was he really that strange? He didn't feel any different than usual. He tried to search his memory for clues as Toquah considered the odd fact that the only thing he got was blotches of memories; half of them were erased in black. He shook his head, feeling the beginnings of an aching head as he finally decided not to worry about it anymore.
"Hello there." He lifted his head up with a start and stared at the outrageously beautiful mare in front of him. He had seen plenty of beautiful mares before, but this mare... just... wow. Wait, what was he supposed to do again? How did he talk again? Toquah worked with his mouth but all he did was stare and gape. He closed his eyes hoping he was only seeing things...
Kan snorted as Toquah went away, obviously far too "young" in mind to handle a gorgous mare (just like all the other times). "Hey, there," he said, all slick and laid back and casual-like. "The name's Kan. How do you do?" Kan had picked up some tips from his father, Hania, though he felt his father's ways to "swoon" a mare were a bit too old-fashioned so he used some of these tips as well as a combination of what he'd seen his sister's son Shizuka Tsuyoi do. "What's your name?" He refrained from adding "beautiful" or "gorgeous" because he was unable to judge her temper as of yet to use it. Unlike Shizuka, who used flowery words to flirt with many mares (though he had heard rumors where Shizuka finally settled down with one mare), Kan was smart enough to know when and where to compliment a mare.

What strangeness radiated toward her as if this distressed stallion had somehow shifted to another being. Nah, she was just seeing things and forgot her manners as her parents had taught her.
"Ah I'm Kelva," she nodded with a polite smile that brightened her blue eyes,"Its a pleasure to meet you Kan." She still felt awkward meeting other soquili but Kelva was a strong one and soon would get over that nonchalant nonsense. There was a time and place to act nervous and disarranged, this wasn't either.
"Lovely day isn't it? The sun is rather nice as it cradles your back and soothes your wories." Idle conversation. It was something new yet it was invigorating all in the same. "What brings you out today Kan?". He seemed quite different yes, perhaps she was just too mesmerizing to take in with how his mouth was gaping just a bit ago. Now Kelva that's not nice to think is it?
She cleared her thoughts a moment then waited for this charming stallion to answer her own query. A perfect opportunity to meet the other soquili that roamed in the world around them.

Kan smiled as he processed the mare's name. Kelva. That had a nice ring to it... "It's a good day for meeting beautiful mares," he answered casually, pretending to look at the sky as he tried to make small talk. "I mostly wandered around today; there wasn't any real purpose for me to... well, come out. I just felt I needed to." More like Toquah the buffoon needed to, he thought wryly to himself. Toquah was Kan's alter ego, per se, but Toquah didn't know about Kan. The stallion's full name was Toquah'kan, but considering how Toquah'kan split into Toquah and Kan, things got a bit complex. Kan returned his attention to Kelva. "Actually, I--"
Toquah had managed to convince himself that he wasn't dreaming, and so he opened his eyes to see that the same beautiful mare was still standing in front of him. He sputtered a bit as he searched for words to try and greet the mare properly this time, and managed to stutter, "Uh... uh... h-hello," he mumbled and looked down. The ground was very interesting suddenly. "I-I-I-I-I..." he sputtered again, terrified he was probably going to irritate this mare. He had noticed that a lot of mares didn't like being around him for too long except his family, because they loved him and told him it was okay. He wasn't sure if they knew about his condition but he would need to ask them that later. "I-I'm T-T-T-T-Toquah," he finally introduced himself. Well, so much for appearing strong, dashing, and etc... if he kept stuttering like this, how was he going to be able to get rid of his natural fear?

Kelva watched Kan with open curiosity nodding with his words. She still couldn't shake the fact he was some how different than before when she first appeared in view. A handsome sort he was, quite suave and brusque with his words. Quite a charming individual indeed. But just as she was about to speak in return he changed in front of her. Not changing like a physical manner but mentally with his tone change and his expressions.
Did he just? Wha? Okay now I'm seeing things. The single or multiple words that filled Kelva's head like the rush of the ocean at high tide were a bit intimidating. Well I suppose there's a first time for everything right?
Kelva listened with more curiosity understanding that this stallion was actually two. The first being charming and bold while this one was meek and unsure. Her mother had taught her well with many conversations and much knowledge of the thousands of things that lie outside the sanctuary of a basket. So she introduced herself once more, though it felt a bit odd to do all over again.
"Greetings Toquah I'm Kelva," she announced with a soft sweet voice leaning in a bit closer so he wouldn't think she was running away. A long swish of her tail mirrored her calm disposition. The last thing she needed wasto scare this other what was the word.. individual? Pondering a moment she placed the names together, Let's see Kan and Toquah... right? No wait lets try this, Toquah and Kan. Need to remember that.
She kept placing her mind in memory mode so she wouldn't forget who was who. Kelva had an excellent memory when she wanted to.

A voice echoed in Toquah's head as he smiled at Kelva, though he ignored this thought, not realizing it was yet another clue to tell him there was more than one "spirit" inside him. She's smarter than she looks... Beauty and brains, hm? I like that... Toquah nodded quietly as he murmured another greeting, and then blushed bright red when she leaned in. He didn't move away, but he didn't really move anywhere either. His kind brown eyes smiled happily, however; this was the first time a mare had the patience to talk it through with him. "T-T-Today is a l-l-lovely d-d-day, is it not?" he managed to asked, still stuttering of course. He was the only one in the family who didn't have a lot of confidence, despite Hania's best efforts to help his youngest son. Ah, well... Suddenly worried he was being boring, Toquah glanced back at Kelva. She was slight, smaller than he though not by much, and as he thought before, beautiful. She had kind eyes and a pretty smile, and he liked the sound of her voice. She seemed like a perfect being in his eyes. However, just as he was about to ask where she had come from, he blacked out once more. Why does this always happen to me...?
Kan observed Kelva from behind the scenes as his meek, scared alter ego finally decided to retreat to give him some room to maneuver. As he "woke up" again, he grinned brightly at Kelva. "I guess you figured out there's two of us, didn't you? Our full name is Toquah'kan," he explained. "Our father is Hania, mother is Mahiri. I guess you could say that Toquah, who you just met, would be the "dominant" mind, but only when we were little. He was a scared little one... but I have always been with him, watching and protecting him." Kan gave Kelva a crooked smile. We both thing you're one gorgeous mare, too, he added mentally, but he also refrained from mentioning that, just deciding it was better to wait. "Well, what I was trying to say last time before Toquah "woke up" again, I was going to say that I had been out searching for my sister's friend. He felt the need to explain to Kelva, seeing as he decided she would be a friend he would spend lots of time with. He thought back to Hania's advice about how to be sweet and nice with mares; they preferred that over outrageous flirting... like his nephew Shizuka did. "Uh, well, I think that's basically it... Toquah doesn't know about me... so don't tell him... he would get really confused and then be too scared to sleep, and I'd be "trapped" for a long time if he knew." Kan glanced away a moment, and then came back to his old self with full force. "Anyway! What's brought you out today, Kelva?"

Kelva adored those soft eyes of his, this part of him that was shy and meek in the presence of others. Like her mother she herself carried a caring attitude and deep curiosity of things. Not as bad a Nitika Saissis' daughter, but an ample array of moments when she'd ponder and be curious to things around her. "Its a beautiful day Toquah. Always feel honored when the sun is your guide rather than the clouds. I think its a wonderful feeling when your shadow follows along. Then you don't feel so alone in the world.
She continued to watch him wondering where Kan had retreated to. It must be tough trying to keep hold on the same persona in one's body she thought. Interesting how her thoughts had whispered his arrival.
"Yes I did," she nodded to Kan's statement amazed at how even Toquah's eyes faded into a bolder more bright look about him. She was musing over the littlest things it seemed. As he explained the situation to her it became more obvious and understanding to why they faded and emerged as fog does on some nights as the mist is rising in swirls. Now it was plain to understand why other mares thought him odd or annoying. You simply had to "know" the real person that lingered inside. Some could be two, while others could be 4-10 personalities. It all lied within the complexity of an individual's mind and stableness.
Once we was finished and sure he had explained everything she nodded cheerfully with a wink, "Your secret is safe with me Kan. I wouldn't want to traumitize poor Toquah more than he needs it. He's really sweet and doesn't deserve that sort of thing. That's a full heartfelt promise from yours truly." She watched him with a pitiful look, but it was more her own. For she couldn't bear to see anyone "trapped" as he put it, not able to get out and be free when they wanted to. Her mind simply wandering now with many thoughts and questions.
"Hmm?" she blinked with surprise as he asked his next question, "Oh well its a lovely day as Toquah said, so why not." She smiled feeling a bit sheepish her own pondering had kept her in a daze almost.

She really was a mare of wonders, Kan decided. To realize that we are one and yet separated... "Toquah is Toquah." He answered bluntly. "He's the side of me that I was hoping to be rid of one day... but I doubt our spirits would be able to be apart from each other much as we can't stand each other. Heh." He had been observing the way her eyes spoke to him, and it soon occurred to him that she seemed to be able to tell when he and Toquah switched. Strange... no mare had been able to do that before...
He gulped quickly, suddenly nervous and excited all at once. There was no way, but this could be the first mare to truly be a friend--or more--to him... them. "Thanks for keeping it secret, Kelva," he finally said, as he rose away from his own silent musings. In a way, this mare was the biggest mystery to him. When he thought he had her figured out, she turned around and did something that made him have to start over. "It doesn't have to be a promise," he added hastily, feeling like a jerk suddenly.
She's so cute when she does that, he mused, and then grinned. "That's it? Just a lovely day? Come now, Kelva, that couldn't be just the only thing! Don't tell me it was me, because I think it was Toquah who bumped into you," he joked, wondering what her laugh sounded like. He doubted he was much of a stallion who could make humor, but he tried anyway. He also wasn't very poetic, but he did know that Kelva reminded him of the setting sun in its beautiful red hour, and how it had always warmed him and brought a smile to his face... like this mare did now.

Kelva still held interest in the duo that combined to make one. Though Kan felt he didn't need his "other half" she felt they were equal making up for each others mistakes and crutches. The bold and the shy, not all soquili could be proud of such traits that formed a whole. She rather was entranced by the fact there were two friends instead of a single entity that had come into her life recently. First Dharmesh and now Toquah'Kan... I must really be having a good day.
"Secrets are meant to be kept" she responded toward his thanks in her agreement, "If something is blabbed then it wouldn't be a secret now would it. Besides, as I said before I like both of you, so getting rid of one wouldn't keep you both as a whole now would it? I mean you guys should feel honored to be two parts because you help each other to make up what the difference is." She laughed quietly to herself thinking so much how both her father and mother combined were a lot like herself. She may of looked more like Nanaki but yet her mother's intelligence was something that flowed within her as well. She had a passionate love and look upon things that made up her father's traits. Wondering about her sister she felt eventually she'd have to seek her out and find out how she fared these days.
Pondering a moment she laughed out loud letting her mother's softness sprinkled with her father's deepness shimmer through, "Well it is a lovely day after all. Or maybe it was because of you arriving to greet a damsel in distress perhaps. Heck maybe it was both, ever think of that?" Her crystal blue eyes shined back at him, a bit of playfulness hiding in there. She was rather enjoying being out rather than stuffed in the company of some trees.
"So" she began with her own inquiries you said your father is Hania correct? I think the mare where my mother visits knows your father. Name by Celendria. Heard of her by chance?"
Idle conversation versus talking to the swaying trees, which would you prefer standing out in a great big world learning new things everyday? The thoughts were mesmerizing to the young mare, and yet she was eager to learn and experience more as a tiny flame flickered deep within, growing a bit each time something new occurred.

He nodded resolutely at her responce, somewhat surprised she had yet to run away. With two vastly different minds residing in one body he was amazed this beautiful mare could even tell there were two. Often times he had to check with himself to make sure he wasn't just hallucinating like he did half the time because of Toquah. He dipped his head in a respected bow as Kelva explained something he never thought about before.
Kan wanted to explain that he himself had been heavily influenced by the oldest sibling, as Toquah was influenced by their parents. Hania knew of him but Mahiri didn't know about Kan. Kan didn't know his mother like he knew his father... or Aruna. He didn't even know his siblings, and that's where the difference was. He grinned slightly at her description of why she came out. "Damsel in distress, indeed," he agreed, though a slight hint of wryness laced itself within his words.
"Yes, my father is Hania, and my mother Mahiri," he agreed, and then flicked an ear at the familiar name Celendria. "Yes, I've heard of her; Father speaks of her now and then. He's concerned about her now and again. I sometimes think he loves her much the same as my mother, but after a bit I think he just cares deeply of the "Ice Princess" as a sister. I hear they were born 'round the same season," he mused aloud.
"My sister Aruna told me she's only met a few of the friends that Father hung about with when she was younger. My family's strewn out and apart, now, although I live with Father." He was somewhat unsettled to know that he had opened himself up as easily as a flower for the sunlight to this mare. Kelva was certainly a mare that could possibly meld both he and Toquah together and yet keep them as seperate as land and water. He found the thought to be entertaining and terrifying all at once.

The way he carried himself Kelva grew highly amused over. Perhaps he pondered her breaking into a sprint, leaving this disjointed soul in limbo to deal with their problems. On the contrary she was highly interested in Kan's company, though she contemplated if Toquah would ever take interest in her as much as his other half. She was highly affectionate in response to both if they allowed her to be. Perhaps this was Nanaki's influence over his great daughter born of both Earth and sky.
"Celendria is a very caring soul and she speaks highly of your father on most occasions." she nodded with a cherished smile, "I think she possibly was in love with him a long time ago." She mused with a flick of her soft ears and a lucrative swish of her tail. "If he is indeed as grand as I've heard, then I'm sure his sons and daughters are just as memorable because of how special they are." Kelva looked deeply into Kan's eyes and whisperd gently, "I'd love to get to know you both better really, though keep that singular barrier that keeps you apart. I honor other's wishes when they request it."
Kelva mused to herself and winked playfully at Kan, "As my mother would say.... Consider it done. Now, teach me how to talk to Toquah so I don't scare him. If anyone knows his gentleness it is you Kan. Would you do that much for me?"
She watched him thoughtfully wondering what he'd respond. First off what did he think of this spunky little adventurer that was willing to cross barriers to befriend a soul that hid most of his life? Perhaps Kelva could make them both see that the other wasn't so bad by being a medium between them both. Never before had she delve so deep to experience something new, taking that first step to try and learn something. Star Catcher would be proud of her daughter right now. This Kelva was hoping on in her lessons in life. And perhaps just maybe there was something a little more. She'd just wait and see, then she'd know for sure.

He remained silent for a time, obviously pondering over whether or not to truly trust this unusual mare. He did not know many, only of his family, and perhaps one or two others. He had met his other brother, the oldest one, a while back, but since then he did not meet any other. He needed to visit with his mother sometime, too; Hania would be sad if his children did not go often to meet with their mother (it seemed the children took up that trait of their ever wandering father). His eyes softened as he returned to reality when Kelva spoke up.
"Perhaps they were in love with each other. My father most certainly is kind, if a flirtacious fool on occasion," he chuckled, and then blushed (what was this!?) as her next words invaded his mind. He was rendered into shock at this mare's bold attempt, no matter if she spoke softly, gently. It was still a surprise. He dipped his head, both in respect and awe, as well as a means to regain his intellect. Long had it been since the time he, Kan, had gotten stunned as he had just now. "You wish to know of my "twin," do you?" he sighed, "Well be it. I shall teach you... for you are correct, only one other knows how to properly speak with him, and that would be my sister."
What to tell her? She was a sly, persuasive little thing; persistent. But it also seemed she was very interested... cared. He closed his eyes momentarily, took a breath. Finally, after yet another long moment, he opened his eyes and began. "Toquah is skittish; this you know. But he is like a young foal, innocent and naive, but brave and strong once you truly understand him." He gave a tight smile. "He is also annoying in that he always stutters. But then, if you speak gently to him, quietly, he feels urged to trust you, to know that you will not hurt him."
He gained a far-eyed look, almost as if he was not in reality any longer. But then his gaze sharpened, and a sad smile replaced his stubborn lips of before. "I've taken too long, too many priveledges of my freedom. If only I could stay longer... I'd rather he not know of you, but because you want to know of "us"... I must comply for the sake of a beautiful lady." He grinned widely, winked, and "vanished."
When he opened his eyes, the stunning mare from before was still there. He began to say something, an apology for sleeping when he should have greeted her, but his voice was caught in his throat. Highly embarrassed, Toquah began to fidget nervously, wanting to leave but not wanting to be rude so he stayed, and just looked everywhere but at the mare. Certainly he was nervous, never before had a mare (other than his sisters) deemed him worthy to wait on, to stay with. It was exciting and frightful. Thus, he finlly brought his eyes to the red mare known as Kelva. "H-Hello..." he spoke softly.

For an instant Kelva had the odd suspicion that Kan was being put on the spot. For her to ask him to let Toquah out was perhaps like shoviong the bolder one back in the trappings to release the meek, more undermining personality out to greet her. While she was nervous to go through with this, her heart was the one speaking of melding friendships and bonds to fully know the other she so desired to welcome as a close friend.
She nodded listening intently to his words, his suggestions, and way to react around a frightened soul. She herself was understanding and full of vigor, but also Kelva was a dreamer like her mother that could speak softly and carry a wisp of happiness about her tongue and words.
"I'm sure things will come to pass Kan and you can return whenever you want. He's a part of you as you are him. I almost think it would be sad to loose either one of you." she blinked and shook her head. I've just met them well Kan for the first time... and here I'm talking like I've known them for ages.
She nodded to him as he faded out awaiting that soft spoken stallion to emerge as a foal opens his first eyes to the new world around him for the very first time. Intrigue, fear, surprise, happiness all play a role and shimmer like players in a story.
His voice was very timid, almost shy and childlike as Kan had said. But as others would grow annoyed and move onward to other hopes and desires, Kelva wanted to stay and realize what fate had set her off to do. To truly learn about someone you had to take a chance, try something new and different with consequence breathing sweetly in your ear. Pausing to delve into her mind she was gaining the strength as she smoothed out her own nervousness to hopefully not spook this sweet stallion in front of her.
She smiled with her mother's soft gaze speaking soft and light as a feather that drifts and twirls amongst the wind, "Hello Toquah. I'm very sorry to have startled you. My name is Kelva by the way." Watching him she waited with anticipation that maybe he'd stay and talk with her as Kan had. This would be much different than before but she was a paitient mare that burned to know things, feel them as they drifted toward and away from her.
"Please don't be frightened Toquah. I won't run away nor be mean hearted. How are you doing this lovely day?" she asked as her long tail mirrored of the blue water swayed back and forth like a smooth flowing river.
