It had been a long enough while that Musketeer should have forgotten the corpse colored wolf, but the proof was there that he hadn't. He patrolled the packlands and hunted as was expected of him, he enjoyed his new pack, but he always hung around the edge of the land closest to that clearing. He was glad that Necrala hadn't been in enough trouble to need him, but his heart felt heavy at the loss of her company.
He knew deep down she might never call for him, he had spoiled things with her terribly. He sighed and paced slowly along the border of the packlands in his usual patrol route thinking of how to push those dark void-like eyes from his mind.
She wasn't even that pretty, so why couldn't he chalk it up to he challenging atttude and lookfor the rest of the fish in the sea?

--- God how she hated this. She hated it with every every fiber of her being, and even more! If that was possible. Yes, yes it must be, because that was how much she hated it. The gnawing pain not so much, but the helplessness was what she couldn't stand, that she could do nothing at all. She couldn't eat, or move to drink, or even sleep properly with this, this THING about her neck. She couldn't even move. Now, worn and ragged Necrala weighted her options, reduced to tugging softly at the contraption (a hunter's rope snare), inadvertently tangling herself worse. No, she wouldn't call him. She promised that she'd never call him, ever.
---'It's either that or die, and you know it....' Her mind gnawed at her like the aching pain in her stomach, from the lack of food or drink she'd received since she'd gotten herself caught. If she could just turn around she could get it off, gnaw through the rope and leave. But from her current upright position, there was no way possible to do so.
---'Call him!' Her head snapped, becoming as stubborn and persistent as she was in her right state. Swallowing, the dreary corpse-like femme felt the rough, man-made rope (it stank of human, disgusting) brush against her throat, then looking towards the sky between the trees. How far was she from her field? Not close enough. Would he hear her? Her mind assured her he would. 'Damn him, damn humans!'
--- Growling in defeat, with ears pinned back Necrala pulled her head to the sky and let out a resounding, raspy howl. He'd know who it was from.

Musketeer's ears perked as he raised his head, if he didn't know better he would say that was...Necrala? The faint howl sounded further then her clearing, but it was her! Had she really gotten herself in trouble or did she miss him as much as he'd missed her? He grinned and looked around patrol done!. He knew he would have to explain to Crunch later why he had ditched his post, but a femme in trouble was a worthy cause!
Especially this female! He raced faster than he had with her those weeks ago trying to pinpoint where the faint sound had come from. He finally let his keen nose catch her sweet clean smell and slowly followed it, but it was aged a bit and he progressed slowly.
Finally Musketeer found her, and boy was she in trouble! He dashed over and circled her. "Necrala?! What happened? Why didn't you call sooner? Who did this?!" He growled, his hackled rose as he sniffed around for the human scent. He ripped himself away determined to deal with it once he had freed the shee wolf before him.

--- It absolutely killed her to make that call, especially to maintain it long enough for the other to hear. Panting as she tugged once more at the rope noose around her neck, the femme leaned against the tree closest, short of breath from the strain on her throat as well as the howl. Ears swiveled around softly, deciding that if the silver wolf had heard it, then the same person who put the trap out here could've as well.
--- Not long after the male came racing through the bushes, and caused more movement and noise than she had in the entire while she was here. A soft, tired smirk fell across her maw at his nearly frantic, demanding tone, she really hadn't expect him to come. Short of breath the femme lifted her neck gently to show the rope rubbing against her fur, having managed to wear away some of the fur on her jugular from the amount of strain she had put upon it.
--- "I can't reach it to bite it off. I nee-I...I need you to do it." Even in such a state she was as proud as a horse and stubborn as an a**.

Musketeer frowned and looked around warrily before gently licking her neck and easing his teeth over the rope, he didn't want to take anymore fur off her neck. He tugged carefully to slip the rope against his sharp fangs and started to gnaw it a little before snapping his jaws down and severing the frayed rope.
He slowly moved and sat back looking her over to make sure she hadn't sustained any other injuries. "What happened Necrala? You're to clever to get caught in that..." He glared at what was left of the trap and sniffed again ready to go after the human who had set it.
He slowly moved over to her to nuzzle and check her neck worried that it had cut deep.

--- The femme was on pins and needles as the other wolf gnawed away at the rope, half gratified and half wary, feeling his canines run over her flesh once or his breath against her fur. Wincing she allowed herself to shiver, dark eyes squeezed shut so she wouldn't have to watch. Contact made her hesitant.
--- Necrala let out a breath of relief once she heard the old rope snap and felt it loosen around her neck. She opened her eyes and looked around, shaking her neck and taking a step back, nearly collapsing onto her hinds. Sore legs gave out and the femme obediently lay down, nose wrinkling lightly at the muzzle, wincing. No touchy.
--- "That's what I thought..." She muttered sourly, shuffling away from the remains of the ropes as though they were snakes and would bite.

Musketeer growled and stood looking out and around before inhaling against the ropes. He disliked humans from the time he was young, he was fairly certain the reason he had no parents was due to humans having killed them, for the scent upset him. Never had he sought out a human, always he avoided their traps, his brother had fallen into one once and Musketeer had helped him out. This time though he wanted revenge...Necrala could have choked to death if he hadn't heard her call.
"I'll find the one who set this..." he growled softly.
He turned and sat beside her looking her over. "How long were you there?" He frowned at her shakey legs and looked around wondeirng if he could get her to some water and food.

--- The she-wold herself had never had any mis-encounters with humans personally, merely the instinctive fear and hatred towards the fire-wielding, two-legged race. From her field she was far enough away from the human settlements that she never heard nor saw them except for scarce times during the winter when they hunted. But hunting herself had drawn her out farther than her own borders.
--- "Don't be stupid. You won't accomplish anything by getting yourself killed.." She rasped, a growl in her tone as she chided him like a mislead pup. Just because she didn't care for him didn't mean she wanted him to go and get himself killed because of something trivial like this.
--- "I don't know, a couple days, two, three, four maybe?" The laying wolf gave a soft roll of the shoulders as a soft shrug, immediately regretting it as the wound of her neck caused her to wince in pain.

Musketeer huffed and glanced at the ropes laying so innocently in the grass. "They can't kill me...they can try...but they wouldn't manage..." he huffed softly before giving a slight sighed. One he could handle, but the humans traveled often in groups as the wolves did on a hunt and he could never handle more then one or perhaps two.
Still he felt the need to make things right for Necrala. He frowned as he heard her next statement. "Days?! You promised you would call if you were in trouble!" This time it was he who chided her. "They could have come back and...and..." he growled softly unwilling to imagine them killing her. "You promised..." he added his tone slightly hurt.
He slowly moved to lay down beside her and lick her neck. "I can bring you to the packlands...for food and water...we have an ally who is a healer from another pack, she can tend to your neck..."

--- She snorted in disbelief, despite her state. "Don't be stupid, you know you couldn't take them on. They travel in two-legger packs, you'd only get off worse than I did." Necrala retorted sharply, looking at her companion. 'Besides, I need to get him back to my meadow before he goes and attempts suicide like that...' The femme thought to herself off-handedly.
--- "I did call! I did promise! Do you know how hard it was for me to call someone like you? I don't need help from anyone!" The she-wolf snapped, ears flicking back in pure irritation, before she allowed her head to sink back to paws, gaze off into space. She truly believed she needed no one, but she found herself regretting the outburst as soon as the anger had past, bristled fur flattening out once more.
--- An ear twitched lightly as Musketeer lay closer, but the femme made no attempt nor move when he began to lick her neck, shuffling lightly to expose more of it to him. She couldn't admit it felt good against the stinging, despite all instinct. Necrala looked over at him warily, not liking the idea of being around any 'pack'. But food and water? That sounded appealing...

He sighed against her fur and gently licked at the wound before nuzzling it. He nodded at her words and glanced once more at the rope upset before letting the matter go. He did feel a bit hurt at her next statment though.
"Someone like me?" He frowned and tilted his head, that felt odd a strange painful tug in his chest. He had never felt anything quite like that before, he didn't like it one bit.

--- Despite the close contact the femme let the odd treatment go on, a lip curling lightly or nose wrinkling if his tongue ran over a deeper spot or he nudged her too hard. It felt kind of....nice? She would never admit it though, not on her life. She couldn't move and he was doing it on his own, there was nothing she was able to do about it in her incapacitated state. Ya, that was it.
--- The femme let her ears flick back at his tone. She inwardly scoffed at his disappointed voice. Changing the subject, she shuffled a bit on the ground. "A pack? What pack?"

He nosed her gently when her nose wrinkled or her lip curled and licked gently around her neck moving the fur to let the wound air out and heal without any dirt. Carefully he held back any further comment, but it still stung. Instead he chose to answer her question.
"The pack I am in, Akiiki Chibale, Crunch is my alpha...and we have an ally in a neighboring pack, she visits often and she can heal. She can make sure your wounds heal properly. There are plenty of streams as well and I can find you some food, my brother loves to fish...you could stay there for a few days until your up to going back to your clearing." He wasn't going to push his luck asking her to stay.

--- Crunch, Akiiki Chibale, such names she'd never heard before. Yet, this pack wasn't far from her meadow, how was that so? She supposed she merely wasn't that sociable of a wolf...oh well. Ears kept erect as Necrala listened to the silver wolf, head resting upon her paws with eyes closed. Really she was only half-listening, half-sleeping.
--- The promises of food and healing were tempting, and the wolf shuffled lightly in an attempt to hide the growling of her empty stomach. "How many wolves are in this pack?" She inquired, a bit more cautiously this time. If there weren't that many, there was a better chance Necrala could get out of there easily if needed be, or fight them in worse circumstances.

Musketeer nosed her gently not wanting her to fall asleep, not until he had her someplace safe. He really hoped she would see reason and come with him, after all the chattering Alas had done about healing he was sure the pink wolf could help. True Necrala was a lone wolf, but she was in need and Musketeer wouldn't leave her that way.
"Well...theres five, and myself, and Alas seems to visit a lot, but she isn't part of the pack." He nodded and stood moving to gently nudge her up. "Either way back to your clearing or into the packlands, but we can't stay here...the trap setter could return."
