My how days had flown. Oathkeeper's mind was spinning from all the ongoing events. Paris, a mare that was part of his Teepee group & her 'sister' Nicole, had had offspring, adding three new females around the Teepee. With all the ensuing chaos of an ever growing group of girls to protect and watch over like some sort of dysfunctional non-related family, Oathkeeper decided finally that he needed some peace of mind from all of it. Even if it was momentary.
And so, the ever dutifull stallion set aside a day for himself and went to wander the lands. As he was enjoying the beautiful mid-day sunshine and cooling autumn breeze his mind wandered back to thoughts of a family all his own...and that special mare he'd spent a lovely night gazing at the skies with and talking to. Auriga... he wondered where she was and what she was doing now. Stopping in his tracks, Oathkeeper shook his head at himself. Who was he to have gone so long without seeing her?
Was he afraid that if he met her again, she'd have someone new? Or afraid maybe he wouldn't find her ever again? Like she'd disappeared with the stars in the sky come dawn and he was only dreaming? He was a bit ashamed, for he was not that kind of stallion. Courage once again found him and he boldly and happily began his search for the mare who'd caught his heart.

As unlike her as it was to be awake at this time, Auriga took a deep breath and smiled. Despite her love for the nights, she couldn't deny the sun's warmth was a wonderful feeling on her coat. She did feel a bit off in th day, she stuck out quite obviously because of her dark coat. Still, she had no reason to hide.
It had been a while since Auriga had seen another Soquili. With the winter coming near, the majority of Soquili were staying close to their teepees, tending to new foals and preparing for the cold. Auriga, however, wandered still. Admittedly, it had been getting a bit lonely as of late. Perhaps a companion was what she needed....?

((Yikes---sorry for the story here...felt creative! XD))
After awhile of searching, Oathkeeper stopped for a moment in the midst of a drying forest grove and took a deep breath. Aimlessly wandering about would get him nowhere. Guidance was what he needed. If mearly following his heart wouldn't work, he'd need someone who could gaze farther around the terrain than he could. Backtracting towards his teepee just a little, he came to an open spot where the trees didn't cloud the view of the sky above. Taking another deep breath in, he gave a loud, long whinny.
Silence fell over the area as the whinny echoed away. A few minutes after the quiet spell there came the return screech of a hawk. His traveling companion, Oblivion, was now circling overhead. "Oblivion!" Oathkeeper shouted, to direct the hawk down to him. Oblivion's sharp eyes had already seen the stallion though and he'd begun a sharp, swift decent seconds before the stallion had shouted.
He landed gracefully on Oath's hind quarters and tucked in his wings. "What is it?" Oblivion asked blankly. "I need you to scan the terrain around here, I'm looking for a mare of dark colors. She's as lovely as the night sky, no---more lovely..." Oathkeeper began, his voice trailing off like some lovesick creature. "If you cut the mush" chirped the hawk, cutting the stallion off, "I'll look for her."
He took to his wings again, soaring higher and higher and made quick circles about the lands surrounding where Oathkeeper stood. After another few moments he returned another screech and began a straight direction northeast of where they were. Oathkeeper's heart caught in his throat. Oblivion had spotted her.
He took off quickly, keeping pace to the echo of his hooves beating amoungst the firm ground. He followed Oblivion's direction, listening for sounds of another somewhere as he blocked out the sound of the dried leaves crunching benieth him.

Auriga drank deeply. She has stumbled upon a small freshwater stream, and a sudden pang of thirst made her glad of the find! She flicked her tail as the cool liquid quenched, her long forelock suddenly slipping down and landing in the stream. Grumbling slightly, she stood upright and attempted to flick it out of her face, resulting in a wet slap to her nares. With an exasperrated snort she turned her ead skyward to let her forelock slip back. As she did, she noticed a hawk, as dark as she was, but only for a moment. She thought nothing of it, but smiled slightly. She often wished she could fly. It would make finding others much easier!
Giving up on her now limp, damp hair, she decided a spot of grazing wouldn't be such a bad thing. So she dipped her head, and intended to eat her fill...

Racing out of the forest and into the clearance leading up towards the river area, Oathkeeper kept his glaze on the hawk above. Oblivion, now circling where the river broke off into must smaller streams and brooks, made a final screech as if to say "This is where she is & now I'm leaving." Oathkeeper nodded, wondering whether or not the companion hawk caught his approval.
As the strange dark colored hawk made his leave reguardless, Oathkeeper spotted a familiar figure in the quickly nearing distance. It was Auriga, who appeared to be grazing ever-gracefully. A great rush of warmth came over him as he pondered his approach...
Normally he would be well mannered, polite & by-nature, sauve...but he was too excited, to thrilled to see her that he almost forgot to stop running as he came too near. Skidding to a halt, his own braids whipping his face and then hanging there, he stopped infront of Auriga. "Auriga!" he breathed out, almost a breathless pant, but still filled with obvious mirth. He didn't know what to say after that. Why was it words failed him so suddenly?

Auriga felt paranoid lately. Why did she feel like she wasn't alone?
Pushing it to the back of her mind, she continued to graze. Although that feeling of someone else close felt stronger. I must be going mad...
No sooner than she had contemplated her own craziness, someone called out her name. And a familiar voice. A voice that filled her with a rush of excitement and her head jerked up. Sure enough, that white stallion she had so much trouble keeping out of her mind lately came to a screech beside her. For a moment, Auriga could not move. She wanted to smile, to shout out, to dance. Her heart thudded against her chest and she burst into animation.
"Oathkeeper!" She all but squealed with delight, unable to stop herself from throwing her body weight at him in a very over-enthusiastic nuzzle-hug. She had been so calm and collected last time they met, but this time, she could barely contain her glee.
She surprised even herself with how much she has missed him.

Her burst of returned excitement to see him was all the assurance he needed. Breaking boundries himself he greeted her just as she greeted him, returning an equally as enthusiastic nuzzle to her cheek gleefully. He took special care the keep her lovely mane from falling infront of her face, as it adorably seemed to always do.
After the heartracing embrace Oathkeeper, in a rush of words, tried to explain himself. "I finally found you! I'm so sorry I didn't come to see you sooner! Herd duties, lots of new faces to guard and whatnot. But that's no proper excuse not to come see my favorite lady---" he burst out, giving her and extra appologetic nuzzle.

Auriga laughed at Oathkeeper's apologetic outburst.
"It's alright! I'm hard enough to find as it is! How did you find me anyway?" She grinned widely. It was such a wonderful feeling to see him again, a feeling she had longed to feel for longer than she herself realised.

Oathkeeper heaved an exagerant sigh, more than glad of Auriga's understanding nature. Regaining repose, he smiled, giving her a little more breathing space after the nuzzles, but staying quite close to her still.
"My familiar, Oblivion" he began, scanning the skies even though Oblivion had already flown far out of sight, "He's a...pessimistic lil' hawk." Looking Auriga again in her silver eyes he felt his heart flutter once more. "Having someone who can be your eyes from the sky certainly helps. That and, your lovely coat keeps you hidden in the veil of night rather than day, no?" he added, winking.

Auriga nodded slightly. "I think I saw Oblivion before, but I didn't think anything of it. I'll be sure to now!" She chuckled a little. "And I imagine I stuck out like a sore hoof to eyes as keen as his!"
She gave Oathkeeper a playful nudge. "So what are all these duties you mentioned that have kept me from annoying you for so long?" She grinned slightly.

Oathkeeper smiled weakly, "Nothing I should have called more important than having come to visit you much sooner." One could tell he was repremanding himself for that. "In simple sumption, two of the mare's the Kawani teepee sisters look after had kids, adding two new females too keep watch over til they grew from filly to self-sufficent mares. Being the only stallion in the group and the oldest at that, I feel its my duty to be their strength and guidance" he explained.
After a moments paused, his meak smile returned. "Could such a good lady forgive me for putting duties before love, just this once?" he asked, looking like a two year old human giving those adorable begging eyes to a parent for forgiveness. He was bend on full pardon, for he never ever wanted to hurt her feelings.

Auriga smiled broadly. "Look at you protecting all those females! A hefty task indeed!" She chuckled, knowing how headstrong and troublesome Soquili mares could be. Well, if she was anything to go by of course!
"I forgive you, of course, dear stallion..." She gave him a nuzzle of reasurance, her smile still present. "Besides, it is no bad thing to know you care so much for your friends and family!" She gave a gentle tug on one of his long braids. "How could I be angry at you for doing such things? I have missed you, though..." Her smile softened slightly.

A faithful smile returned to Oathkeeper's face as he was pardoned. "Thank you" he replied, meaning it quite purely from the depths of his heart. He returned her reasuring nuzzle, just to be extra loving, "I've missed you too."
Another moment of nuzzling silence and he backed away a second. "Well, now that I've found you again, no sense in letting go, right?" he winked. He wanted to let the mare mull that around in her mind a moment and see how she took the interesting comment. He wondered what she'd think he meant.

Auriga looked up at him, a wide smile still ever present. "Is that right? Are you sure you can handle me all the time?" Auriga chuckled slightly as she turned away from him, looking back over her shoulder at him.
"Think you can always keep up with me, stallion?" She gave him a grin and a wink before taking off into a full gallop.

"Yeah---I think I can. At least, I know I'd like to for sure!" Oathkeeper had began with a smile and a laugh. "And about keeping up---" he was about to comment on being able to do so when Auriga took off running. Sly, very sly...but in the good kind of way he chuckled to himself.
Being as quick on his hooves as he was he took off after her. Shouting over the wind, he gave a sort of sing-song comment, "So if I catch a shooting star, can I keep it by my side then?" She was a nimble and swift mare, but quickly he was gaining in full sprint.
