Winter was coming. She could feel it. Denise let out a sigh, her breath seen clearly in the frosty atmosphere of the Snowdrop Mountains. Though winter was coming, you could hardly tell that it was when you were here. For the Snowdrop Mountains were always covered with snow. Denise continued to walk, making a path for herself quite easily.
It was cold but she did not mind it much. Her fur kept her well insulated and though she shivered from time to time, it was nothing she couldn't bear. Denise looked about, taking in the beautiful landscrape. It was breathtaking, even she could admit that, this area. All the white, it was entrancing. Her body moved to the side, she blinked and shook her head. She continued on her way.

Haruki loved the frost even thought it chilled his wings and made it harder to fly. He loved the way it felt, the way it looked, the way it made everything sparkle and glim. He fulled his lungs and breathed out in one big breath. "Wow thats a lot of mist!" He laughed at him self.
He shook his body and started to leap around. He would run and jump into the air, wings stretched out just enough to make him glide. He landed on the frost covered grass with a -crunch- the sound it made as it broke under his paws.

Denise stopped, she looked over both shoulders and looked all around her. Was there anyone looking? No? Good. She put a paw under the snow before lifting it in the air and dropping it. The snowflakes fell gently to the ground. Denise tilted her head and watched contently. She did it a few more times, she never smiled but she liked it a lot nonetheless.
Denise looked around again to see if anybody had caught her doing such an act. She might even be embarassed and that was so unlike her anyhow. Her eyes and ears could not pick up anything though. She rose to her paws, her tail bobbing along behind her. What to do next? She supposed she could go back.
Denise turned around and started on her way back. Her paws crunched on some parts that were not completely covered with snow yet, just frost. She stopped, catching a glimpse of something winged. It was a Minya, she realized, but one with wings. Well that was absurd, having wings and all. She stayed back and merely observed.

Haruki leaped and bounced about. He was having a ball. This last jump was a doosie though, he jumped into the air laughing and giggling he forgot to look where her was going and -wham!- The brown minya got up close and personal with a pine tree, face first.
"Owww." He slid to the ground a layed there for a bit and rubbed his nose. He was so preoccupied him didn't even notice he was being watched.

She sat down in the snow, quietly observing this strange minya. Watching him have fun was getting a little boring, some part of her wanted to go over and introduce herself actually. But no she would not do that. Densie rose to her paws instantly when she saw him hit a pine tree. What a complete moron. Why couldn't he of looked where he was going.
Her paws seemed to have a mind of their own then, walking over to that other minya. "Idiot." Was all she could say when she got close to him though not that close, she did have to wait and see if first she could trust him enough.

Haruki, still rubbing his head turned to the voice. "I am not!" He wined. "I'm a goof ball thank you every much. Don't confuse the two." He blow her a raspberry. His head did hurt him something fearous but he was still able to make a joke even if it was at him self.
The brown minya looked stopped rubbing his head and looked to the one he was addressing. "I'm Haruki, how do you do?"

"I was mistaken then." She replied cooly, her brown eyes took his appearance in. Denise had been taken aback by the wings, how in the world did he get them? Obviously from his parents but still she had never seen another with wings before. It was strange. She blinked as utter surprise was reflected upon her face, what was with this male? Blowing her a raspberry, the nerve of him.
She frowned, embarrassed a little still. Perhaps it wasn't embarrassment though, maybe it was just awkward because she had never had someone blow her a raspberry though. But still the nerve of him. "I do fine." That sounded odd. "Haruki? Interesting. Your wings, that is, not your name." Did he want her name? Perhaps or perhaps not. "Denise." She added.

Haruki smiled, his headache passed. "Thanks...I think. So where are your's?" He asked getting closer to her, looking her over. "Whats a Denise?" He said right after she had said it. He got right in her face when he saw something shiny. "Oh! Whats that thing! I don't have one of those!" His nose was all most touching the golden jewel on her forehead. "It's soo shiny!"

She frowned. "What?" What was he looking at? "You mean, my wings?" That may be what he meant, but then she was unsure. Denise backed up when he came too close. "Do you not understand what personal space is? You do not invade another's personal space." This male was beginning to irritate her greatly.
"A Denise is me." She shook her head. "It's my name." She was tempted to say duh but that sounded too weird. It wasn't something she'd usually say. This male would deserve it though, he was a complete idiot! She moved her head back when his nose almost touched the jewel on her forehead. "It's a jewel with a gold band around it." Why was she explaining this to him even? Couldn't he tell? Her eyes watched his expression. Perhaps not. Idiot.
"Most likely there isn't many minya with my jewel, if any at all. I have never even encountered one who had a jewel like mine. It is rare." She moved a little more back, away from him. "Like your wings." She added.

"Denise?....Denise.....Den...ise...." Each time he said her name, he would say it slower and sounded like he was thinking it over. "It's petty enough, but can I call you brownie instead?" He asked.
Haruki noticed that she continued to back away from him. Guess I really am making her unconvertible. He thought and stopped advancing. He just continued to stare at her jewel. "So every minya has something special about them. Well I can fly with my wings officiously, but what can that sparkle thing do?"

"Brownie?" She was insulted. Her name was good enough for anyone, Brownie was too dumb! Obviously she was brown but she didn't need him to call her Brownie as if she didn't even know the own colour of her hair, eyes, or fur! Denise frowned deeply, her eyes narrowing at him. "You may call me Denise, Brownie isn't what I'd call an adequate nickname."
She stopped backing away from him when he stopped approaching her. She sat back down on the frost. Though she was still narrowing her eyes at him, she could tell he wasn't looking directly at her eyes. No he was still fixated on the jewel on her forehead. Was there something wrong with it? Why was he still staring at it? She shook her head, breaking her eye contact with him.
"I suppose every minya could have something special about them. Likely a lot of them keep it as a secret as a lot of the other minya I have encountered, there didn't seem like there was something special about them. No wings, no jewel." She paused, reaching up with a paw to lightly touch the jewel on her forehead. "I do not think it does anything, or if it does I do not know what it does." Denise admitted.

"Oh yea? How about party pooper then? Loosen up or you'll go gray before your time." Haruki smirked. Denise seemed so up tight and Haruki thought that was no fun so he wanted to help her loosen up.
"Hmm well maybe it will happen when you need it most? It will do something spectacular." The brown and white minya smiled and nodded. "Now Shiny lets find something to eat and then maybe you won't be so cranky." He winked.

"Party pooper?" That was insulting. She was no party pooper, what an awful term. Her eyes narrowed at him. "Gray? I doubt it." She'd always been like this, she had found no gray hairs as of yet. Perhaps she'd turn gray before him, but only because she was older in age and not because of how she was. Or she hoped she wouldn't turn all gray because of her personality. That would be....disappointing.
Was disappointing the best thing she could come up with? Pathetic, absolutely pathetic. "Why do you feel I need to loosen up? Fooling about like young minya's does not seem all that amazing. You get hurt more easily, all dirtied up that you need continuous baths, or you get into trouble of some sort. I think it is better if I stick the way I am."
"Perhaps it shall." She still had doubts about the jewel upon her forehead, thinking of it as nothing but a piece of jewelry but who knows this minya may be right. Strange things could occur.
Denise wasn't even all that hungry, though this minya seemed to be. She huffed, disliking the wink he gave her as she walked by him. "Fine, let's eat. But I'm not cranky." She mumbled the last sentence to herself. "Anything you want to find and eat, in particular?" Why was she attempting to be polite enough to him still? It's not like he even deserved it or anything.

Haruki just smiled at her as she talked about grays. He eyed her next as she talked about fooling about as she put it. "Then whats the point of life if your not going to live it? You might as well be a rock." He open his wings only to stretch them and then refold them. "Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run then outright exposure...Life is either a daring adventure or nothing." He said remembering something he was once told.
He turned around and walked beside her. "Mice." He smirked.

Denise blinked. She didn't know what to say, he had a point after all. She supposed she was like a rock, she was never interested in having fun, she rarely cracked a smile, she was mostly frowning. Denise had always liked doing what she did, never changing but what if change was good? No, it couldn't be. She shook her head.
"I suppose." She finally said. She walked slowly, many thoughts plowing through her mind. She felt him walk beside her, she eyed him out of the corner of her eyes. "Wait, did you just say mice?" Denise whipped her head up and about to look at him, shock appeared on her face before it slipped back into her customary frown.
"That is disgusting. How can you eat mice? Don't you eat the food your owner gives you? Or at least eat berries from a bush, fish from the rivers, or heck even grass." Her face twitched at the word grass, she would never eat grass again. It was not all that great.
