A pastel colored Kylan sat under the shade of the trees at the edge of a clearing, tail twitching as he stared out at nothing in particular. It had been an uneventful day, luckily. Waking every morning was not something Fairweather actually enjoyed. It seemed more like an annoying chore. To him, life felt meaningless. A constant, drolling up and down. A void of pointless nothings that would eventually lead to an eternal sleep. Everytime he shut his eyes and left hismself drift, he prayed it would be the final time.
But bitter emo thoughts aside, he continued to stare, ears sliding back at the slightest sound. Smaller animals rustled the leaves behind him, probably preparing for the cold season that would soon come. He would have to find shelter soon, too. A sigh. How troublesome.

Near the edge of the same clearing was another kylan . A female wandering around with nothing much in mind to do. Long horns bobbed with her on her pace, as she weaved through trees and bushes with ease. This change of weather made her all the more irritable, and she needed something to distract her from boredom. Eyes blinked when they spotted another of her kind resting nearby. Perfect. Prowling closer, Zuuka smirked to herself. How close could she get before the other realized she was there? And how would he respond? >D

Hm? Large ears slid back further, though it seemed almost impossible. Poor eyesight had taught him from an early age to rely heavily on his remaining scenes. When the rustles from behind him grew larger than a small animal would've created, he scowled. So much for the simple pleasures of listening to nature, however little pleasure it actually brought him. Tail flicking in a warning manner, he waited patiently for whatever was to come, if it was even coming his way. A bit hard to tell. Nevertheless, he laid perfectly still except for his tail. Flick, flick. Muscles tightened. There was no telling if it was another Kylan or a different large animal. He still had to be ready.

Seeing the tension in the other, Zuuka only grinned wider. She only wanted to antaganize! and it was allowed only when she was doing it to others. Crouching low with tails flicking, Zuuka glared at the other's back. Without further warning, she pounced. "Hyaaa!"

Dark teal eyes narrowed ahead, still staring at nothing as they'd been doing before. Closer and closer the sounds came. There was no mistake now. It was heading his way. Quills bounced as he turned his head, looking from the corner of his eye. Everything came in strangely sharp and angular patterns and movement was difficult to discern. The action was mainly to let whatever it was know he knew they were coming. And suddenly, a strong shape jutted out of the others. Eyes widened, sending warnings to his muscles, which reacted rather quickly...
But not quickly enough. Having tried to rely to much on sight, he'd been fooled. He felt paws press against his body and a loud battle cry in his ear. Miffed, he let out a hiss.

Teal paws pressed against the fur of the stranger kylan. Zuuka was shocked at all that the other let her get away with it. For all he knew, she could maul him! Her black muzzle scrunched as she cackled down to the other's hissing. Her tail bristled dominantly behind her. "This is my clearing, got it stranger?" She chomped her teeth for emphasis. Hah, take that! She may not be big, but her attitude sure made up for it against any foe.

The hiss drew out, sounding even more unpleasent in the male's throat as he stared up at his attacker. Her size and fuzzy outline told him she was the same breed as he, another Kylan. And the way she so haughtily claimed the clearing as her own told him they would probably be hard-pressed to agree on much of anything from this point. Talk about 'good' first impressions. "Yours?" he questioned, hiss subsiding in favor of a sarcastic tone. "Oh, my. Please forgive me." Shifting his weight, he me moved to rise, tail swishing out behind him in obvious aggitation.

Floppy ears pulled back to the hiss, ignoring the others obvious irritation. It was only when the other peered back at her that she arched her neck, expression blinking and pondering. This male...his eyes were unfocused. But he couldn't be downright blind, as he was taking in some of her own features. With a hum, she allowed him to slip away, a pout forming on her muzzle. Aww, well that wasn't entertaining at all. Avoiding the swishing tails, she sidestepped up to his left side. "Heh, you're fogiven at the price of a name." Her long horns bobbed with her nod. "Well then? What's your name?"

The same unfocused eyes narrowed on his new company, now conveniently at his left. "I don't much think it's your business," he replied, half-frowning, half-smirking. Then he began to walk off, tail still twitch-twitching out behind him; the best form of stress relief. It looked as if he would walk away without another word, but after a step or two he stopped. Turning back ever so slightly, he smiled. "I don't need your forgiveness, lady. Keep it to yourself." And he was off with his slow pace again.

GASP! No he didn't! >O It was enough to make Zuuka's quills quiver and her tail bristle. The nerve of him, challenging her back with words when she wanted actions. Icy eyes narrowed as she trotted persistantly after the other kylan, nipping half-heartedly to his dusty tail tip. "Is that so? Fine, I guess I'll just call you....Pinky! That matches, wouldn't you agree? Pinky." A grin graced her maw as she kept pace with the moody other, too amused now to walk away.

He could sense her attempts at his tail. The movement of wind and the feeling of her successfully snatching bit of fur here and there sent chills up his spine. Stupid sensitivity. Trying to ignore her, he swished his poor appendage down and away from her half-hearted assult. However, he couldn't stay passive for long. The fur along his neck and back stood on end, the tip of his tail twitching not so much in stress relief, but now annoyance. "Pinky?" Stay calm, he told himself. Don't let her get to you... "Is that really the color of my fur?" He questioned, trying to play dumb. If he could twist his neck around and get close enough, he could see the pink and purple, but under normal circumstances, it looked muddy gray to him. Pfft. He couldn't help it if he had a girly pelt.

Zuuka snuffed as the tail turned into a more lively bait. Almost to the point of flicking her in the face. Withdrawing her head from the faint shakes, she pulled on a smirk to the other's clear annoyance. "You heard me right." Pinky-purply plushie. That's what he looked like. Bouncing up beside the other, she smirked all the more to see his aggitated face. "Awww, don't be sad about it. At his rate, you'll get used to being called that. You know, since I never did get your name." An itch for an itch, she could live with that.

Being compared to a plushie of any sort probably would've ruffled his feathers beyond a quick fix. Lucky she'd kept that one to herself. Scoffing, he kept his gaze forward as he moved. There was no real destination in mind. Anywhere away from the annoyance she was causing. But it didn't look like that was going to happen anytime soon. "Why should I give you my name if I don't even know yours?" He questioned indignantly. Tail twitch. He'd never even asked for her company in the first place, come to think of it. Not that she seemed to care much about what he thought, anyway.

"Pfft, and what do you care? Or in that matter, what do I care? Name's Zuuka." Her quills lifted with pride to her name. Now, just to know the other's name. But Pinky could last forever, she sure wouldn't forget that. Her maw pouted as she caught sight of that tail again, and it was will power not to chomp on it. This character was just too fun to poke. But weren't they all?

"Zukka, huh?" It didn't make him sound overly interested. In fact, the underlying bite in the way he said her name was likely to assure her that the only reason he'd remember her name was because she was annoying. A sigh. Well, she did offer hers. There was no escaping that he'd round-aboutly promised his in return. "I'm Fairweather," he muttered, glancing away. Fairweather wasn't much better than Pinky, to tell the truth. Ears slid back against his skull as he merely imagined what she could do with that information.
