Okay, I've heard of Gensomaden, RELOAD, Gunlock and Requiem. Now ADV has announced Saiyuki Double Barrel. Did they just pull this out of a hat? Did they rename Gunlock. Help-chan!
(oh yeah, Double Barrel comes out mid-february, costs about $30, and runs 250 min or so.)

Well, it's not Gunlock, because Geneon has that licenced.
The only other thing I can think that it'd be would be the OVA...

it sounds like an ova. they cant rename gunlock. it must be an ova

I read somewhere that it's the dirst two Gensomaden Saiyuki DVDs together. Seems odd but... OMG! You may be right! each of the 1st 2 dvds is 125min.... Although it could be an OVA. I'll hope so. (though my bank account is hoping it isn't. ^^0) I found out about it in the dec 2nd rightstuf letter.

Well, I just watched the OVAs this morning, and they're only an hour long in total. So it's not them.
Methinks ADV's packaging some of Gensomaden together to make money this Chrismas. whee

I just picked up Saiyuki Double Barrel Vol.1 for my best friend's birthday and we proceeded to watch it (I've been trying to get him to watch the show for a while now, and this seemed like the most logical way to do it).
Great packaging (makes me kinda jealous that I bought the individual discs with the vol.1+box), great deal (10 eps for 20 bucks is outstanding for anime), and quite fun (as is everything Saiyuki related). Overall, awsome deal, and a great gift for those who haven't seen the series (seeing as it shows what the series is capable range wise).

My two friends got that for me from Katsucon! (plus they got Greg Ayres (AKA: my hero) to sign the cover! Sweet . . . . . I was touched! crying Really . . . If I could cry, I would have then!
I might take pics of it for you guys to see what he wrote . . . quite hilarious if you ask me!
I might watch it on Friday or something . . . . whee

yes the double barrel editions aren't anything new. they're like two individual dvds combined. and i must say, it's worth it if you haven't seen it yet which would be quite a shock. but yeah, 20 dollars for 10 episodes is so worth it.
