 Danny bounded around, playing in the leaves. Fall had come and he was going to take advantage of it. His winter coat was starting to come in, making the cool wind feel like a spring breeze. He stopped short when his little black nose caught the whiff of something. It smelt strange. Unlike anything he had ever known.

Cassandra or Sandy as she preferred to be called was roaming along happily her fluffy tail stirring up the air and leaves around her. She loved the heat and passion of summer, but winter was appraoching and she had resigned herself to enjoying it as well. She flopped over in a pile of leaves and purred to herself her nose twitchin curiously.
She opened her eyes and looked around uncertain if she should go explore the scent or let it be.

Ears forward, nose close to the ground, Danny searched through the leaves like a blood hound, trailing after the strange sent like it was his job. He couldn't understand. It wasn't sweet, nor was it foul. It as just there.
Finally he picked up on something. There it was! The sent, he found it! He pawed at a pile of leaves to feel something squishy. He quickly flipped over some to find a black animal with a single white stripe down the middle.
"Skunk!!" He yelled as he backed away, tripping over his tail. He collected his feet and quickly dashed away before the animal could spray his nasty oder.
In the distance he saw Sandy. Running towards her, he grabbed the scruff of her neck with his teeth. "Come on! It's a skunk!"

Sandy had her silent question answered for her as Danny grabbed her and announced what the odd odor had been. She quickly found her feet and raced along with him worried they would upset the creature and end up giving off a distinct odor not their own!
"Oh Danny! How is it YOU always manage to come across these oddities..." She shook her head and slowed down glancing over her shoulder to ensure they were a safe distance away.

He turned around and gave her a genuine smile. "Just lucky I guess." He said and continued running. Though they were far away from the hazard, he was having fun running with Sandy.
It wasn't every day where he got to spend time with her. Brook thought it was weird for him to hang out with Sandy. She didn't approve of their friendship because of their pelts. Danny was tired of her drilling him so he made it a point to stop hanging around her when Brook was around.

Sandy couldnt help but laugh at Danny's antics and bounded after him happily having missed his company. She grinned and waved her tail under his face before leaping infront of him.
"Catch me if you can!" With that challenge spoken she dashed off through the falling leaves and dove into a pile to craete more of a flurry.

He stopped short when she leapt within inches of his face. He tried not to run her over, after all what was the fun in doing that on accident?
He grinned at the dare. He laughed, and started to run after her, dodging the leaves that fell around him. Fixed on his target, he never blinked. Danny stumbled a little when he misjudged the depth of different piles, but continued to follow Sandy closely.

Sandy's tail waved wildly as a banner to indicate her location before vanishing in another flurry of leaves. She stirred them up into a veritable twister and laughed as she bounded away and around Danny.
"Come on! Come on Danny! Faster!" She always loved to see the male put on a burst of speed. She grinned and dove under a falling pile to hide her tail tucking down under her and her ears falling back to conceal her.

DAnny saw her disappear and stopped. He looked around, and lowered his ears. He crept close to the ground, his thin tail waving through the air slowly. He sniffed the air, and pawed at a nearby pile of leaves, seeing if there was anything squishy lurking in the pile.

Sandy gave a yap and leapt at her companion with a grin, true to her name Sandy pranced wildly around. Her tail sent up another flurry of leaves before she sat down panting. She laughed lightly and watched Danny her paws moving to bat at him lightly.
"Oh Danny nothing could be better then spending a while with you, you know?"
