One day Lexiel had an itch to take a trip into town, and after getting the necessary paperwork filled out explaining where she was going and for how long she packed a small lunch and left Happy Home asylum for a day at the park. She was able to leave because she was one of the well behaved inmates who would help out the nurses and guards with whatever they needed at the time. They considered her not much of a threat to venture out on her own. Also it was a perfect chance for her to run a couple errands for some people at shops nearby her destination.
Along side her floated the multicolored see through teapot, happily whistling as they walked along the roadside, steam rising from it where numbers could be seen unmistakably, counting only to 12. Spotting an interesting looking branch she picked it up and began to twirl it in the air, giggling at the simplistic beauty of the crisp autumn day and her surroundings. The little tea pot mimicked her happiness in the tune that it played.
About a half hour later she had just finished the errands and was ready to sit down somewhere to enjoy her meal and take her medicine. She decided on a cool shady place near trees with leaves the color of rich amber. Theres she sat with little bags from the shopping she did, legs delicately tucked under her ruffled skirt. Then she began to unwrap the bag that held the little boxes that contained sweet cake, mini ham, sandwiches, and her tea with mercury pre-mixed.
She was about to open the little box containing the ham sandwiches when she felt the odd feeling that she was being watched. The tea pot made a motion towards her like a nudge, but it went right through her leg and she couldn't feel it. She looked down at it though and it made quick jerking motions for her to turn around. She glanced behind her to see a very strange sight. Someone was hanging upside down from a branch in a tree with sporks in her hands. Lexiel starred oddly at the spectacle and decided to say something.
"Hello." She said, making eye contact, head still turned.

"It's still not raining," she complained, staring down - or up - at the two sitting up in the top branches of the tree. Neither seemed to move, but after a few moments, FD smiled and nodded. "You're right Carl, we just have to wait. I'm sure eventually it will." Looking back up - down - at the ground, her eyes wandered lazily around the park landscape, noting the few passer-by's, smiling back as they stared at her, but also judging the distance, waiting for one to pass close enough. One almost did, but then veered away at the last moment, having somewhere else to go. Or avoiding her. Or running away from some crazed gang that he owed money to, that were after him, preparing to strike him dead, or-
It was hard to think what the gang wanted when she was upside-down, so she stopped. Now, there was a very reasonable explanation for someone hanging upside-down in a tree, but it didn't really apply to her. She just wanted it to rain, and rain it would, whether the sky wanted it to or not. Though, she supposed that sometime she really should stop by the appliance store and pick up the utensils she was having shined and sharpened. But the clerk had said five, and it was nowhere near yet, so she would wait.
Floating a few inches above a branch, Skel turned to the brightly-wrapped box beside him and reached in side - ignoring it's protests that it was only allowed to be opened on Christmas of last year - and grabbed out a clam, tossing it back and forth in his hands. The pond in the middle of the park looked inviting, and he thought perhaps he would swim. As he was about to glide down, he looked up and saw a figure sitting on a bench. Shifting to look, he rustled a few leaves, catching FD's attention.
She looked at him, then straight ahead, and saw the girl and - was that a teapot? It looked cool, whatever it was. After taking a few seconds to process her word, she decided to smile first, throw later, and asked, "How's the weather?"

The girls response puzzled Lexiel for awhile, it not being a common everyday answer to 'Hello', but what puzzled her even more was the fact that they were both outside in the same general area and so the weather that surrounded them they both were experiencing... She mentally shrugged off the confusing circumstance and responded to the woman smiling slightly.
"Its fine, a nice cool day. It might rain a bit later though. I saw clouds forming in the distance walking over here from Happ..." She was about to say the name of her beloved asylum but to any normal person on the street... well any not so normal person that hangs from trees, might not be too pleased to find that she lives in an insane asylum... "from my home... " She corrects herself, not noticing another person slightly higher in the tree that the girl was hanging from.
"Might I be so bold as to ask why you might be hanging upside down in that tree?" She says as politely as possible. The Tea pot whistled softly and clacked its lid as it seemed to look up into the tree, higher then the branch that the woman was hanging on. Lexiel looked up into the branches for a brief moment and thought she saw something but it vanished behind the leaves before she could register that there was someone else in the tree.
"Would you like some sweet cake? I'd be happy to share some with you. If you like of course..."
