I dun't like it. >.> That acting cut it out and runied the song and its not the REAL meaning so nuh uh its not one of my favorites. The only thing I like was Green Day preforming. So the movie is a big waste domokun that song wasn't suppose to become a single since its personal to one of the band members.

I liked it, but I agree with Green. It should have been about Billie Joe's father or someone's father or anything like that rather than being about some teens and one of them goes to war.

it wasn't very good. i mean, i found out recently that my dad has cancer, and it's so strange to me how it's all happening around september. the song means a lot to me because of that, and i wish the video portrayed his relationship with his father.
i do love evan rachel wood though. heart she's gorgeous and a great actress.

wmuwse is the worst video i have ever seen by GD. vut out the shitty realationship stuff and the war relation, then it would be good. the closups of the band were good. that's about it. only the time they showed them play.

I liked the video but I didn't like how at the beginning they are in a medow and the people are talking. ******** bor-ing. Then when they cut it and the girl comes out from the inside of the house and they talk. That was crap. Other than that the video was good.

Well, I like it, but don't like it at the same time. The acting was good, but it didn't really do much for the song. The fact that they made it similar to the relationship between Jimmy and Whatsername is cool, but everyone knows Billie wrote it for his dad. So they should have sticked with it being about his dad. THAT would be something to cry about. And getting to see Jason in a video with them was cool too.

They shouldn't have made it a single if they dont want the real meaning in it.

I really liked it. It did kind of bug me that it wasn't about Billie's dad. That was also a complaint I had with the 'Holiday' video, in that they didn't portray the obvious meaning of the song.
Despite not sticking to the song's meaning, I thought the video really captured the mood of the song. I thought the acting was great.
Also, they finally put whatshisname in the video. Jason, was it?

Well, it's not exactly anyone's place to be bitching about THIER video. I'm sure they made it that way for a reason. Think about these possibilites:
1. Maybe incorperating Billie's relationship with his father was too painful for him to want to do.
2. Maybe Green Day wanted to make the video something people could relate to considering the fact that they could know people in the service like every other person in both America and the UK.
3. Or it could be that they wanted to show ingnorant young people who don't know jack about the war (not nessecarily anyone on this guild) that it effects people like them and that the loss of one you love doesn't only pertain to your father. Maybe they made the video more general in the terms of loss because not everyone's father had died an untimely death.
Not to mention the fact that Green Day didn't get to where they are now by trying to please everyone out there. It's not our place to say that the WMUWSE video sucked because we didn't write the music, we're not in the video, we don't the people who are, so who are we to critisize?
I like the video. It means a lot to me considering half my family is in the military and my friends' families have already suffered losses from Bush's mistakes. So although I didn't lose my father, I can still relate to that kind of pain. I think that's why they made the video the way they did.
