(Tom) Riddle Me This & Scavenger Hunt for a Prize

Welcome to one of your Halloween Ball event threads! In this thread we’ll be answering both some fun Harry Potter Riddles and a Scavenger Hunt. The Riddles will be listed in the second post; the Scavenger Hunt will be outlined in post three. Please take the time to read the posts before posting, as they will (hopefully) answer any questions you may have. If you have any questions, feel free to post them in the thread below and one of the H5 Helpers will help to clear up any confusion. (They are listed below)

**If you want to submit a riddle, feel free to PM Orna. I can’t guarantee that it will be used, but it is appreciated! Also, if you submit a riddle you are ineligible to answer if that riddle is posted (that’s cheating!).

HOW TO
When responding to a riddle, you can simply post “Riddle #_ and then the answer. This way we don’t have the riddles reposted throughout the thread and people wouldn’t be confused as to what answer goes to what riddle.

PRIZE(S)
The prizes for answering riddles will be decided at the end – it will be a random draw out of everyone who correctly answers a riddle. The prize may be big (a monthly collectible) or something Halloween related. The amount of prizes depends on participation. smile

Current Riddle:

Prior Riddles and their answers:

Riddle #1:
A married leader and a single slave
The toothless elder now gone to his grave
The death for which the younger took the blame
Committed by the one he could not name
They've ten between them, ten that do not see
Now name the leader and his enemy.

Answer:
It's Aragog and the Basilisk.
Aragog married Mosag and now leads the spiders in the forest. The basilisk lived alone and worked for the heir of Slytherin.
Aragog's still alive, but the basilisk was killed by Harry and lost a tooth in the process.
Aragog was blamed for Myrtle's death and refused to tell Hagrid that it was really the basilisk.
And Aragog has eight eyes, which have gone blind with old age, while the basilisk had two which were pecked out by Fawkes.

Scavenger Hunt Information

Welcome to the Harry Potter Scavenger Hunt!
I hope you have a lot of fun finding everything on the list!

RULES
- Do not post your progress during the Scavenger Hunt, the only time you should post (if participating in the scavenger hunt) is when you are finished.
- The images can be of any medium: sculpture, drawing, computer imaging, etc. We just need the image for proof that you found it.
- The entire internet is open for the Scavenger Hunt, please do not re-use websites or images that have already been posted from someone who has already finished the scavenger hunt. I realize that this may seem unfair, but I know that you are some intelligent and resourceful people – you can find the items!
- DO NOT, I repeat, do not edit a previous post to change your answer. That will not be tolerated in this thread at all.
- Do not beg for links or assistance in completing the hunt – you need to be the one doing the work to win the prize! ☺

HOW TO INFORMATION
This is for posting images once you have found all of the items on the Scavenger Hunt list.
Step 1: Save the image to your computer
- This is either by right-clicking the image and saving to your computer OR by taking a screenshot of the image and saving it to your computer. You can learn how to take a screenshot here.
Step 2: Go to tinypic.com, imageshack.us, or photobucket.com. If the image is really large, I recommend photobucket as it allows you to resize your images. Photobucket will require you to create an account – so keep that in mind.
Step 3: Upload your image.
Step 4: Copy the link that says “IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards”
Step 5: Paste the code in your ‘new reply’ window.
Step 6: Finish your reply and hit the ‘submit’ button!

**Be sure to have your images in the correct order as indicated by the listing on the scavenger hunt.

How the prizes work:
First person to complete Scavenger Hunt = November 2007 letter
Second person = 1k + User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Third person = 500g + User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

((Homemade Cat Mask)

After the third person we will still be awarding prizes. We will be doing a random drawing of everyone who completes the hunt. There may be more than one random drawing, this all depends on the amount of people participating.

Of course. Prefects can participate in EVERYTHING! Mods are restricted, but in a scavenger hunt or games of chance, they can participate too. Have Fun!
