Master of Gladiators

PostPosted: Sat Oct 27, 2007 8:55 pm

This dungeon is for Radryn Tiaos (Leader), Zypher, Puc, and Kail'igen(Second).

Okay, before we begin, post your stats. Make sure you include the stats you get from whatever equips you bring with you, and specify which equips you're bringing with you. Remember, you are limited by your equip stat for items carried into the Dungeon Thread.

The Wagon Train:

Wagon (2)
A: 0, D: 2, C: 0, M: 0, L: 4 (20), E: 0

Driver (4)
A: 0, D: 1, C: 0, M: 0, L: 2 (10), E: 0

Master Morty
A: 0, D: 4, C: 0, M: 0, L: 5 (25), E: 6 (Amulet of Rebirth)
Amulet of Rebirth: Equip cost (6), upon round following death, resurrects wearer with full Health. This item only works once per Dungeon.

This is what you have been hired to protect. The two wagons appear to be standard buckboard wagons, with an enclosed cargo space. There are no draft animals attached, as the wagons themselves are powered by magic. The cargo is accessible to Master Morty alone; without him, the wagons are simply a means of conveyance. The only Individuals trained in the incredibly sophisticated requirements of driving the wagons are the four drivers and Master Morty himself. Without a Driver, the wagon is useless. You must deliver both wagons, Master Morty, and at least one of the four Drivers to the destination to receive your full contract fee. Master Morty will reward exemplary service accordingly, based on performance.

Master Morty is a Merchant of Means. If, during the course of the journey, you should attain items that you wish to sell, Master Morty will be willing to purchase said items, at a discount. (He is a Master Merchant after all) He will also be willing to sell standard items, spells, or actions available within the Item shop, for a slightly increased fee. It will be your decision to partake of this service or not.

Kail’igen sat quietly at the back of one of the wagons. He listened to what must be one of the other adventurers hired to protect this caravan try to negotiate a deal with Master Morty. He couldn’t help but have a small smile form upon his face. This man who called himself Piro was quite the business man. He made the offer sound so attractive yet if they did there job right, which he fully intended to do, Piro would be making away with a steal. He continued to listen wondering how Morty would react to the offer.

((Don’t we need to wait for one more person’s stats?))

We will start whenever the Party Leader is ready. I have sent a PM to Zypher stating the party is currently waiting on him. It's up to you how long you wish to wait on Zypher. Let me know when you are prepared to start. I will address the question posed by Piro at that time.

Zypher steps onto the field with a mighty grin on his visage and says, "Sorry for the wait, things to see, people to do." He looks around for a few seconds in inquiry and announces, " Can anyone else smell that? Smells like victory! Let's rock!".

Zypher steps up to one of the wagons, gives it a pat to check for stability, then leans up against it. He finds himself wondering where this journey will take him; great or small, and when he will truley find what he is looking for.

((wonderful thats all of us then. Lets get this wagon train a rolling.))

Radryn shaking himself ready took a look at his team, for the most part it seemed rather hodge podge but he could definitely tell there was potential.
"Keep an eye out for bandits and make sure the drivers safety is your number one priority. Throw away any doubt in yourselves, and prepare for a great trip!" With that he moved toward Master Morty and Piro. "When you two are through we will be ready to go."

*Morty's response to the former defender Piro, who is no longer with us, who asks if he can buy healing potions for the drivers...*

Master Morty looks up at the approach of Piro, and listens to his proposition. "Well, I must say my boy, as Defenders go I am certain your are one of the finest, or Master Radryn would not have chosen you for this team. I hold his judgment in the highest of regard. As for your offer, it is a most generous one; one that I can appreciate. It seems that you have our best interests at heart. However, there is a slight problem. You see, my drivers are the finest of teamsters, trained in multiple manners of handling any sort of rig. But, unlike you hearty adventurer types, they have particularly weak constitutions. So my problem is, the usual potion of healing while beneficial in the long run, tends to be a tad harsh on my boys digestive tracts, if you know what I mean. A regular potion of healing would have them laid up for days. I do have an alternative solution, however. There exists within my inventory, a gentler version of your standard healing potion, made with the finest of ingredients selected by the Holy Mistress of the Church of the Divine Mother herself. They are a tad expensive compared to the regular fair, and they don't perform quite as well, roughly half of what you would expect, but for my boys they will work just fine with no harmful side affects. As it's for a good cause, namely protecting what's mine, I will discount the usual fee by 50%. At the discounted price of 50 chips each, it's a real bargain. Although, I wouldn't expect the boys to use them in the heat of battle. To busy cowering under the wagons, I would expect. But, as long as no threat looms, they will keep their heads. So what do you say?"

"Kinda hard to beat that kind of bargain eh Piro?" Grinning under his mask he could tell that Piro had been thrown for a loop on this one. "I suppose thats why he is a master merchant after all." Shaking his head he seriously wondered if Piro would continue negotiating or simply pack it up and go.
