Aaron and Zael were meeting up with Fuego in the center of a nearby park. It was a sunny day, and both the couple and the single had brought their children. The park itself wasn't too terribly large, but it did have lovely green grass, a path, and places to picnic. Zael had thought to bring all sorts of picnic gear, and Aaron had agreed. Fuego hadn't brought anything, so he showed up empty handed. That wasn't a problem - the other two had made enough food for an army, practically.

The two kids were barely more than babies. They WERE babies. And the moment they ran across each other... they hated each other. Codi was terrified of the three-eyed child, and Gray was enjoying being scary. The grown-ups, of course, didn't see any of this, because the babes couldn't talk. But they thought things, and those things came out in their actions. Gray, for example, was thinking that this was a boring get-together, but that teasing Codi was EVER so much fun. As a result of that thought, he started throwing things at the slightly-older child, not really caring who they hit. Codi, thinking that he'd like to get AWAY from having things thrown at him, started crawling away as fast and as far as he could. But his daddy defeated the purpose by picking him up each and every time, setting him right back next to Gray, who would look at him like a wolf looks at a lamb its planning on devouring.

Aaron peered down at the two children in the grass. He smiled.

"Look at that - Just like we used to be at that age, Z. All over each other."

Zael nodded, and laughed a bit as Gray pounced at the other child, who skittered back, and started crawling away again. Fuego picked him up for the fifth time, and set him down beside Gray again.

"There you go, Codi. You be good now. Play nice."

He looked back at the other two, and paused in his speech before going on.

"I haven't seen you two in forever, you know that?"

Aaron nodded, and then right-out hugged Fuego.

"I'm so sorry about Tundra... Any news yet?"

Fuego shook his head.

"None - they're still looking for him. I don't know where he went after that night. He called me from some hotel, and that's the last I heard from him for this past month and a half."

Aaron and Zael both looked at each other, then back to Fuego. It was Zael that spoke now.

"You know you're welcome to stay with us at our new place. It's a big too big for just two... I mean, only if you want to. We're not going to force you to stay..."

Fuego just sighed, and watched the two children without saying a word.

Halcyon came rolling by, at first one could easily pass him off as just another kid who dyes his hair odd colors like prismatic white. At least until he gets to his feet and holds up the football, "HAH! Got it father!" his eyes were prismatic as well. He even had a bit of crystalline structures growing about his eyes and upon his knuckles.

The man who responded to father was midnight black in skin tone, with shock white hair and lavender eyes. He was dressed in a sports hoodie for the local university football team, even marked with alumni for two decades ago. What marked him even stranger though were the two pointed ears, "Good, always important to roll with a hit."

Fuego turned to look at the man and his odd son, smiling. HE wasn't all that normal-looking either. His skin was pale, but exuded heat in waves. His eyes burned the color of flames, and the hair on his head was ember-red, and spiky. He shifted his weight from one foot to the other, and crossed his arms as he watched. Aaron and Zael joined him in watching, and nudged the little ones along with a foot whenever they'd get too close. They didn't want them run over, after all.

"Greets, stranger!" Fuego called, being the closest of the three. "How're you doing? Great kid you got there. Very... uh.... Unique. What's his name?"

Not like he could talk, really. Codi had a wasp stinger on his rear end. That was... considerably more unique than most people were used to.

Aaron moved alongside Fuego, and added his own two bits.

"Mind if we join you in your game?" he asked, motioning to himself and Zael. "We could do with a bit of exercise!"

Cordain grinned widely at the man, Halcyon gave a chuckle, "Sure, I'm Cordain Vinataro, and this is my son Halcyon Vinataro."

Hal moves off and readies to throw the football, however it's not like a passing through, the throw is one aimed to nail the chest hard, of course it's thrown to Cordain first who catches and rolls with it before standing, "Good hard through." he then throws it like a normal pass at Fuego.

Fuego caught the pass easily, and aimed it back at Cordain, passing back. His throwing was good, as was his aim. He must play sports. He went long, and gestured for Aaron and Zael to do the same. Either one that was passed to would be ready to catch. He spoke as he ran.

"Please to meet you, Cordain. I'm Fuego Arrikanez-Drakain. Over there in the navy hoodie, that's my cousin Aaron Arrikanez. The guy in camo next to him is my cousin Zael. The two kids are ours. The tannish one is named Codi. The black-skinned one is named Gray."

Aaron went long as requested, and ran in place a bit. He wasn't paying much attention, and ended up running into a bush before he corrected himself, and came back as bit, able to see and hear as well as to speak himself.

"Halcyon? That's an awesome name." he shouted. "Like Fuego said, I'm Aaron, and that's my mate Zael in the green-brown camo. Gray's ours."

Cordain and Halcyon exchanged glances and a wicked grin crossed their faces. With a shift Cordain threw the football not towards Aaron, but at Aaron, which is what he was doing with Halcyon.

Hal gave a smile at the men, "So I am assuming that two of you are male lovers? Hmm..." he looked thoughtful after speaking, as if rolling the concept around in his mind.

Aaron caught the ball easily, and threw it back AT Cordain - not toward him. Give as one got, yes? He grinned. This was actually quite a bit of fun.

"Yeah. Zael and I have been lovers for about three or four years now. Since we can't have kids on our own, we adopted Gray."

He jogged backward, then forward. Burning energy.

"Do you have a mate, or...?"

It hadn't occurred to him to ask the man if he was straight.

Cordain caught it easily, didn't even blink before he threw at Hal, "Nope, no mates. There are a couple women I'm interested in and I can pretty much have any woman I want, including celebrities."

Hal caught it and rolled before he threw at Zael, "I'm the one of us with a steady relationship though."

"That's certainly a change." Zael laughed, as he caught the ball.

He threw it back at Aaron, who threw it to Halcyon. The younger of the two lovers didn't look entirely healthy. This would only be good for him to a point. Already, he was breathing hard. Zael had more stamina, and he was far healthier. He was barely even breaking a sweat - used to physical labor like this. It wasn't that Aaron was unused to physical labor or lazy - he just had medical problems galore. Most of them to do with his heart. Thus, the panting.

Gray didn't look altogether interested in the game. Codi did, but Gray didn't. He was more intrigued by a butterfly that lay dying a ways away from him. Death fascinated him for some reason. He inched away from his guardians, and went over to sit by the butterfly and watch it suffer and die.

Codi was more interested in the game. Had he known what was going on behind him, it would have scared him even more than he was ALREADY scared of the other toddler.

Fuego watched. He didn't play. He was already hot enough as it was - literally - and didn't need to have any more exertion to raise his body temperature. He sighed, and sat on the ground, taking off his backpack, and starting to set out a picnic cloth, and various food items.

Hal looked at the trio for a moment, "So what is it the three of you aside from raising kids?" Cordain caught the football and threw it to Hal who threw it hard at Fuego.

Fuego wasn't ready for it, therefore it ended up beaming him quite hard in the head. Hard enough to knock him out. Zael ran over to check on if he was ok, then started laughing when he saw he was just out cold.

"That will probably teach him to pay better attention next time! And what do we do? Hmm... Well.. Fuego here, whom you just knocked out, is a writer. Myself, I'm a for-hire cop. Aaron drives an ambulance on his odd days, and works as an EMT on the even ones. We're... fairly busy, but not too."

He looked down at Gray, and yanked him away from the butterfly, sitting him down on the picnic blanket, and picking up the football to throw back at Cordain.

Halcyon caught the ball, "Oh...I just attend college and my father here owns the Vinataro Hotels...all...eighty of them?" he looks to his father before flicking the ball towards Zael.

Cordain smirked a little, "Eighty Seven world wide."

"Eighty seven? That's quite a number." Zael said as he caught the ball. "I can't say I've ever heard of that hotel chain, but I'll definitely have to book a room there some time. Perhaps even this weekend. Aaron's going to be staying in the hospital for tests, and I'LL need somewhere to stay myself. I know they're not going to let me see him for a while."

He tossed the ball back towards Halcyon. Gray, meanwhile, was getting into trouble again, crawling towards the other one that seemed to 'feel' like him. He liked this person. Without asking, and completely silent, he crawled up to Halcyon, and clung to his leg. Codi just curled up beside his unconscious guardian, and made worried whimper-sounds.

Halcyon caught the ball then stopped when gray took a hold of his leg, "...Hey there. You want to play too?"

Cordain noticing the game was over moved over towards the other adults, "Funny...I hear that a lot yet I get enough business to have that many...granted most of them are outside the united states in other countries."

Zael shrugged, and looked back at his lover, biting his lip. Worried.

"Do you happen to have any around HERE? I need to get him some rest, and he sort of refuses to go back to the castle with me. I think he and Draco got into a fight or something. I'd swear. Sometimes, you'd think DRAGON was Aaron's lover, and not me, the way they argue."

Gray looked up at the older one, and gave a grin. Both of his real eyes closed, and the tattoo remained wide-open. He reached up to tug at whatever bit of Halcyon's clothing he could reach.
