... Aw crap. Zoma thought to herself, making a low noise in frustration as she realized the scene before her. No bones, or very few and what looked like what could be browning grass and a few rocks and ... well blue skies smiling at her. Somehow, while navigating though bordering lion's territory, trying to avoid anything that sort of smelled like the large cats from what she could remember of them... here she was staring at open sky absent of low fogs and tall things. The female should have figured that climbing that big hill would do that, and the fewer bones as well .. but hey, some places has big hills and some places in the Graveyard had less amount of bones than others.
"I should... well, relish in it.. maybe." She rationalized like a second after, though. A smile slowly spreading on her features over the sheer fact of looking at the sky. She hadn't done something in so long. Zoma found herself taking in a deep breathe, taking in the fresh unstale air around her. It produced a weird feeling in her lungs, giving how foreign it was having been so used to the Graveyard's air. It was nice though and put a wag in her low dark tail as she stood in place.
And then sneezed, loudly.

A figure in a deep blue color trotted along the border of the graveyard, having come from a small trip in the Pridelands to head back into the gloom. She felt restless, spending so much time in the dark place, and yet she couldn't stay away for more than a day, or an afternoon. Why the graveyard drew her, she couldn't say, she just knew that if she was gone for too long, she felt tugged back, some urge telling her to return here.
After a moment more, Bluu shrugged it off and picked up her trot, adding a little bounce to her steps. Heavy with muscle and hard from long travel, the adult female wasn't one to be messed with, not unless you wanted to get severely hurt. But then... Bluu didn't like to fight. Sparring was fun, but serious battle wasn't, which made it pointless in her opinion. Anything that wasn't fun was pointless, life was too short for pointless things.
A tuneless hum soon came from the hyena, and a goofy sort of grin split her face. Oh yes, Bluu sure did like to enjoy her life, playing and laughing and finding all sorts of amusement. A nearby sneeze manage to draw her from her 'happy thoughts', and she paused to listen, her long ears perked and swiveling to catch the source of the sound.

Zoma found herself sneezing again, her eyes now a bit watery. Trying to get the congested and unpleasant feeling from her noise, she shook her head, floppy white mane going this way and that. It proved to be unsuccessful, much to her disappointment and she scrunched her nose in response. Was the clean air doing something to her? Had she gotten too used to the inside and the dusts of her home that fresh things... or something?
Well, this wasn't going to stop her, she decided. Zoma nodded sharply once with a smile still plastered on her features and planted her bottom onto the ground determined to not move from this spot and would watch the prettiness before her... even if she did feel a bit itchy and her nose was a bit stuffed. Nono, she rarely made it to see the open sky and she was going to take it in as much before she turned her back and re-entered her home. Her black tail flicked on the ground a few times as her ears stayed took in the unfamiliar sounds around her.
Huh ... maybe she could go find something to eat maybe... when she felt a little better.

The sneezing proved to be far too interesting to pass up, and Bluu soon found herself tredding closer to the source. She had nothing better to do today... and no prospects for better entertainment.
Left paw, right paw, left paw, right paw... the dark female found herself humming a silly tune as she stalked her quarry, set to the rythmn of her travel. The closer she got, the lounder the sneezing got, till a sudden puff of dust up ahead pulled her to a sudden halt and she perked long ears forward. A mischeveous idea soon crept into her mind, and a coy grin slid onto her maw.
Perhaps it wasn't the most intelligent of ideas... and it could very well land her with a fight that could give her more than a few scrapes... but by the time -that- idea occured to her, she was hurtling full tilt towards where that dust had come from. When she finally burst into sight of the other female, she was cackling loud enough to scare birds from the trees and running as fast as she could.
See... she'd hoped to scare the living day lights out of whatever was up here, and have a good long laugh about it. That is, if the other didn't decide to take a chunk out of her for her prank.

Senses being currently preoccupied with her burning sinuses failed to alert her to the approaching female before it was too late. Zoma's eyes widened, her whole body jumped a few inches to her side and nearly fell over. A little meep also escaped her as she tried as hard as she could not to complete the motion of hitting the ground from her surprise.
"Uwaa! Aaa, you scared me!" Zoma exclaimed, taking in a deep breathe to calm her betting heart. Oh hey, that cleared up her nose! A smile spread quickly on her features as her head whipped around to safe the blue female that had snuck up on her. "Oh!" The dark female blinked, suddenly finding herself scrambling to right her body and face the other female hyena properly.
"Hi! I'm Zoma, and you are?" She chirped happily.

Bluu was rolling on the ground in laughter, that's what she was.
As soon as she'd let out her ear-splitting cry to scare the other, she'd fallen to all fours with her head low and took in the reaction to the scare. When the other female nearly fell over, the blue hyena flopped down on the ground to gales of laughter. Eyes scrunched tight and body rolling in the dirt, she laughed until tears leaked from her eyes, her whole form shaking. Oh, that had been good! And what made it better was the fact that the other hadn't attacked her for it, merely struggled to recover her poise.
It was long moments before Bluu's cackles slowed and softened, fading away to giggles of mirth. Icey eyes shown as she looked up at an upside down Zoma, pink tongue lolling from her open mouth.
"Oh, ya should have seen yourself!" She barked, kicking her hind-legs. "Ya should have seen your face when I scared ya! Ha!" Chortles rolled free as Bluu squirmed on the ground, unaware how silly she might look or the fact that she was grinding dirt into her lustrous blue fur.
"I'm Bluu, by th' way."
The offer of a name came later, when she remembered that the other had offered a name and asked for one in return. Only polite to answer, after all. "Please to... meet you." That sent her off in wild giggles again, her paws lashing at the air.

At first, Zoma had figured her greeting had been rather lost as the other female continued to roll upon the ground laughing like no tomorrow. This was certainly ... new. Usually roles were reversed, with the black hyena on the ground or giggling like mad. But now, she was on the receiving end and she had no idea how to really react.
Her head tilted to the side, watching in honest amusement while the other collected herself again and then supplied her name. Zoma's already present smiled brightened and she made a motion to comment before another fit of giggles overtook Bluu. Her mouth shut closed again, her tail made a swift flick and if possible her head tilted just a tiny bit more.
"This .. is just weird..." She finally said after a few moments of watching, it was like a mirror or like a paradox or something. Why she wasn't' giggling herself was also something she wondered, but maybe she was just stunned with finding another hyena capable of tricks, joking and mocking. Where had Bluu been all her life?

Bluu was more than amused at the fact that the other continued to smile at her in a bit of a bemused fashion, like she couldn't quite understand. But then, it wasn't really a new expression or reaction to the boisterous female. She was set off into another round of giggles as the other solemnly pronounced that 'this is just weird'... an understatement, maybe.
"Weird or amusing?" She laughed, rolling over to sprawl out on her stomach, tongue lolling as she panted for air. She recovered quickly, but the silly expression seemed to fit her current mood. "Ya should have seen yer face! That was the best joke I've had in far too long. All the creatures here, they're too serious... all grumpy and brooding, like the gray place as gotten into even their personalities and leeched all the color out."
And one thing you could say about Bluu, even her personality had a brightness to match her fur, and the graveyard's solemnity fit her about as well as swimming fit a bird. Which begged the question, yet again: Why was she still here in this dreary place? Even Bluu didn't really know.

Bluu's only personal question was something that crossed Zoma's brain every so often, when she actually sat down and pondered deep thoughts like that. Why she stayed in the Graveyard with the dreary and mean others was something of good question, but perhaps being the only home she knew was really the main reason ....
"Probably a little of both," Zoma smiled brightly, giggling slightly, with a nod. "Most of the time when hyena sneak up on you like that, its 'cause they want to steal your lunch or something." Another nod. "Never for fun, they are all grumpy in there. I wonder if its the air... or something. It's weird too!"
But wait, it was her home too after all. Zoma paused, her smile fell and she took a long series of blinks. "You don't think its going to happen to me, too .. do you, Ms. BlueBluu?" Her brows arched in a sad way, worried. "I don't want to be like Ms. Grumpy Fur and Snarly .. and be all meeeeeean." The darker hyena whined. Being mean would be so depressing and just so upsetting, all the fun would be gone from the world ~

The blue female laughed as she sprawled on her stomach, watching Zoma with an amused expression.
"Yeah, I suppose that's what it is, a good deal of the time. But I'm not like that. Stealing ain't any fun." She laughed as her ears flicked and she grinned, her short white tail wagging.
"It could be the air..." Bluu didn't know what could be in the air that was so different from places like the Pridelands, but that did seem to be the case. "And I don't think it'll happen... I mean, if you're fun and happy now, after living there for as long as ya have, I don't think that'll change, ya know?" She shook her head as a cackle burst from her and she stretched, spreading her toes wide. "It would have happened by now, I think."
She grinned as she looked the other female over her, already liking her. "Life just isn't worth it if you're not having fun, ya know? What's the point, otherwise?"

Zoma breathed a relieved sigh, "You really think so? Thats good ~ I really don't want to be grumpy." She shook her head as she spoke, rather matter-of-factly, letting her white fluffy mane go this way and that.
"Thats what I keep trying to tell them ~ or at least, well.. try, sometimes I don't get to but I try to tell them to lighten up," Started her rant, "But nooo, they gotta be all grumpy and lacking in fun. Gotta be all serious hyena." The last bit in a more deadpan, deeper tone of voice. Her body posture as well went all rigid and straight to add to her mockery of the others in her pack. but she couldn't keep it up for very long before starting to giggle over the whole thing. Zoma's form hunched back into a more relaxed position as she laughed.
"It makes the place a little more depressing with them like that... but aa, what can you do ~" She again sighed, still with a thoughtful smile on her face.

Bluu chuckled as she nodded, listening to Zoma and grinning. The expression grew wider as she went on, till the blue hyena was chuckling.
"What? They don't want to have fun? Must be the air getting to them... how boring! A serious hyena is a -boring- hyena, don't you think?" She laughed. "You know... you should do something for them, if they won't cheer up on their own. You know, something funny, something to make they laugh like their supposed to." She tilted her head as she thought about it, trying to imagine what such a prank would be like.
Of course, that made her chuckle, and soon she was lost in giggles, flopping over on her side.

"I know! Weird, huh?" Zoma inched a little closer with a wider look in her eyes. "Hyena are supposed to have fun and all that good awesome stuff, it would have been nice to at least have someone in there that was fun. ... well, Bubbles is but I haven't seen him in a while." Her eyes went skyward for a moment, in thought of the last time she had seen the hyperactive hyena.
"And I have tried, I got death glares and snarling.... not good times." The black hyena explained, returning her gaze back to the blue hyena lulling on her side on the ground. "I fear dying, that would be really bad times, you know?"

Bluu blinked slowly a few times, processing this before she broke out in a grin, waving a paw at Zoma.
"Ah, I knew it. Bunch of up-tight, stuffy pack hyenas. No fun at all, that group. I'm suprised you stay with them, if they're as dry as the bones around them." She huffed in laughter, rolling onto her stomach and sitting up. Her little white tail wagged, brushing the grass.
"Yeah, dying would be... rather the opposite of fun. Living is fun, dying is not fun." She nodded as she let out a cackle. Suddenly an idea occured to her and she bounced to her paws, her ears perked forward. "Hey! Lets go find something to have fun with, what do you think? We could sneak up on a herd of zebra maybe, and see how fast we can get them running... or make faces at the crocodiles!"

"Well, its the only home I've ever really known. You know?" Zoma shrugged, her smile small and a little sad, "So, its kind of hard to leave ... and I was excepted into the pack there ~" Leaving would feel like betrayal to the pack, even though she honestly wasn't sure that they would realize she was gone or even miss her. It was a sad idea to think upon, but at least there were a few hyena in there that liked her .... kind of. And maybe if she worked at it more, there could be more friends and less enemies.
Zoma's smile began to falter slowly as she thought about it, until Bluu thankfully brought up suggestions of things to do. Her smile brightened and eyes lit up, fun ideas! She hadn't done anything in so long like this. "How about both! I hear the meerkats are fun to scare too when you block some of their holes! They all scurry around in panic ~" The dark hyena giggled, finding this all refreshing.
Until she sneezed... and sneezed again. She wrinkled her nose, batting at it with a paw to get the feeling away before starting to giggle again.
