Story

April 26, 1986. A routine test at the Lenin Memorial Nuclear Power Station went horribly wrong. A meltdown in Reactor 4 set off a chain reaction that caused the worst disaster in the history of nuclear power. The resulting explosion sent waves of radioactive fallout and posinous chemicals across the land, reaching as far as the east coast of the United States. It caused 56 deaths and ravaged the landscape around it. A 30 kilometer area was closed off, know as the Zone of Alienation. The Zone felt ghostly, as if the entire population was watching you from behind locked doors and dark windows.
April 13, 2006. Nearly 20 years after the disaster, fear shook the world when a second explosion rocked the black land known as the Zone. No one knew that within the dark halls of the power plant, trapped in the forlorn sarcophagus of Reactor 4, something evil stirred. A new era dawned as treasure hunters, mercenaries, cults, and soldiers, collectively know as Stalkers, roamed the Zone, each looking for something different, whether it be riches or enlightenment.
June 16, 2012. You awake as a Stalker with no memory of your past. Which path will you choose? What strange beasts will you encounter? What riches await you? What horrors? Who is Strelok? Can you survive in this man made Hell and uncover the mysterious secrets of Chernobyl?
