His shiny smoky gray coat was pulled taunt over his muscular frame, he was a large stallion, slightly larger than most. Pale lavender eyes scanned out over the land before him, he signed and shook out his mane, the sun was setting in the background, he didnt bother to look at it anymore.
Long thick tail swayed out behind him, brushing against the tender blades of grass behind him, his ear flickered as he continued forward, the solitude was new to him, his daughter had grown into a beautiful yet troubled mare. He blamed her mother for that, he snorted ears pinning back. He was a bit, angry about that still.
With a sigh, he rolled his shoulders and welcomed the silence. And yet cursed it as well, he needed to find friends of his own now..Be on his own...thought Anemone would never be to far from him.

Jaslyn had spent the day just enjoying it for what it was. A day. The mare had been alone for quite a while now, roaming here and there and normally that wouldn't bother her in the least. But normally she found at least a few people to talk or sing for, this was actual silence. Silence was rather lonesome.
Her long black mane tucked easily into the bonds that held it in place and she felt a bit of a smile ripple along her face. A herd-mate had done that for her. Strange having a herd. The purple orchid of her body shimmered slightly in the setting sun and it took Jaslyn several moments to realize that she wasn't alone. Up ahead a grey-black stallion was standing staring into the sun. Part of her figured he didn't look to be in the mood for company, but what was guess-work?
Stepping up behind him nearly silently, her cloven hooves only making a few crunching noises on the fallen leaves in the field. "Hello there... "

He turned his head to the soft voice that invaded his thoughts, his long crimped bangs hung in his face, pale lavender orbs could barely be seen, but the golden ones he gazed into were as bright and welcoming as the harvest moon.
He flicked an ear, the land was full of others, being alone didnt last for long usually.
"Hello.." He replied, turning himself around towards her, his own cloven hooves pressing into the earth and leaving prints of his movement. A small story of his life, his voice was deep, so deep it was almost a hushed whisper.

The stallion wasn't hard on the eyes, not that Jaslyn really paid attention to those things... Just that it was part of what she did. Meeting new people and trying to remember them. Some had beeen... probably ugly. Her eyes lit up just a bit when he didn't look at her with a "get away" feeling.
She pawed at the ground before settling in for hopefully a good conversation.
"Have you found something interesting out here?" His voice was so familiar in it's deepness. Jaslyn's own voice was almost inaudible for the most part. The wind carried it to who she was talking to. Only in songs did any power come to the faintly melodic voice. Yes, this one probably had a story to tell or at least a voice worth listening to.

He looked past her for a moment, unsure of the true answer for a moment, he then looked back to her, his eyes full of different emotions swirling and mingling together.
"I dont think so, not anymore anyways.." His gaze moved over her, she was a beautiful unicorn, he hadnt met many others like himself and she surpassed him.
"What are you doing out here alone miss?" he asked as he tilted his head to the side, long forelock curling around his muzzle as he flicked an ear, moving closer to her. Her voice was so soft, like a whispered lullaby...

Jaslyn had met very few people that held true emotion in their eyes. Either they lacked any emotion or what they had was stored away too deep to be seen.. Why was he different?
“What does that mean? I hope I do not pry.. But it seems you’re hurting…” Why was she looking at him more deeply than others.. Surely she wasn’t turning towards him because of a pretty face.
“I am almost always alone, few want to follow where I go.. And none want to walk beside me wherever I venture.” Her voice was quiet still and her mind had wandered down a road that she rarely enjoyed to travel down. She had never been one to let herself not speak her mind so she pondered, “Why is you make me think of things that make me sad?”

He watched her, a shake of his mane he moved a bit closer to her. It would be rude to be so stand offish with this mare, she didnt seem like she meant him any harm.
But could he open up to her? He couldnt even do it with his daughter, what made her different...
"No no, its alright. I guess in a way I am, I feel as if I've lost my way..See no more reason to look forward to the morrow anymore. The sunset has lost it shimmer, and the sunset just another passing fancy.." He shook his head, if only Niobe were here to shoulder his frustrations..How he missed his sister. "Im sorry, I dont mean to lay this all at your hooves, please Miss, forgive me?" he smiled soft at her, his smile was slightly crooked.
He bowed his head to her, kneeling softly, his mane pooled around his hooves. "I am at your service ma'am.." He lifted his gaze to her, long tresses of mane fell into his face. "I am sorry I make you think of ill things, please once again. Forgive me?"

She was watching him just as closely in turn because it felt so strange to be drawn to someone. Years of being on her own save for her familiar and friend Jem…
Her eyes roamed over the grey stallion softly, very familiar to her.. Yet a complete stranger.
“Those who have lost their way… usually are ones that have started out on their new adventure and it’s a bit of a leap of faith.” Coming to this new land had made her feel so confused and so very out of her league.. Eventually things had become more comfortable but what would it take for her heart to be in love with this place. “Feel free to lay more at my hooves, I have a feeling that on your own your back will snap from the weight.”
A crooked smile? How lovely… “Not ma’am, I promise you that I am simply Jaslyn.” It was simply strange to have feelings that made no sense, not that she’d ever blame another for them. “No apologies between us, all right? Keep us honest and relaxed? .. Friends even”

He couldnt claim to have that many friends of this strange land, he'd kept to himself for so long, and then his daughters had been born..When life changed, it did it quickly without notice...
He watched her, she did have lovely eyes. He had a soft spot for beautiful eyes...he shook his head. Shame on him..
"More like a shove into an opening in the earth.." He smirked faintly rising from his kneeling position. He'd been thrust upon this new land, without a thought in the matter, had been lost for so long, finally thinking he'd gotten his footing, it was only ripped away from him once again. He chuckled at her latter comment, he smiled again. "I suppose so, but I've got a strong back."
"I am Benoni, its a pleasure to meet you Jaslyn." He smiled once again, he was at odds, he felt so at ease with her. He hadnt felt like this in a while.."Ah yes, I'd be honored to be your friend Jaslyn."

Jaslyn didn’t really know it but he and her were in the exact same spot because of her own lack of real friends. Sure, a few of the others in her herd had been around, but what did that really mean?
She continued to look up at him, questions forming in his mind about what to say to him.. Why did she keep staring?
“When an outlook is dark… then very rarely does anything good come from it.” She felt like a little bit of a greeting card from talking so, but personally, if she met just one interesting person Jaslyn considered any change worth making. This Benoni, certainly made the move to the Soquili lands worth happening… He was a type of Soquili that she really couldn’t comprehend… “Is your heart strong enough to handle what you put upon your back though?”
“I’m sure that I’m more pleased by our meeting than what I’ll ever tell.” The same faded smile came to her face but this time it lasted a bit longer than before. “You, I believe, are the first friend I’ve made that isn’t in my herd…”
