Ok, if this topic has been already discussed, when you lock it could you send me the link to the topic?
But anyway this is it:
Okies, I have a question. Now, Narusaku-ers, I do not mean to offend you in anyway. I am just a loyal Sasusaku fan and if you guys love Narusaku more than any other couple, then you are loyal to Narusaku. So, if this does offend you in any way, forgive me.
I was bored as heck one day and decided to reread some of the Naruto manga. The moment I came across was this one:
Sakura: It's always like this...I can only do the dumbest of things for Naruto. Yamato: *stares at her* It's not the amount of things you do, but the strength of feelings for her. Sakura: *looks at him, wide-eyed* Yamato: *closes his eyes and smiles* I can tell by just looking at you Sakura, in reality, you- Naruto: Sakura-chan... Sakura: Naruto! *tears forms in her eyes*
When I saw this, I was thinking O.O wahmbulance Uh oh.
Now, I do have to admit that there is a high chance in Naruto Shippuden that Sakura has developed feelings for our favorite little blondie, Naruto. But, for some reason, I still don't see it happening. Compared to the feelings towards Sasuke, Naruto hasn't gotten as much, how you say "fluff heart " from Sakura. (Or if I am wrong on this I shall reread the whole manga eek ) And Sakura has turned down many of Naruto's offers for anything, ya know, romancirific (new word boo-yah!) And she always asked Sasuke for romancirific stuff.
But I also thought of something. In a lot of movies or stories, usually the main character guy gets the girl or dreams he wants. I totally believe that Naruto will become Hokage & bring back Sasuke because Kishimoto wouldn't be CONSTANTLY putting Naruto saying, "I'm going to be Hokage, dattebayo!" or "Sakura, I won't go back on my word. I will bring back Sasuke!" Also, a comment on that statement. Naruto understands Sakura's deep feelings for Sasuke so could that be partially the reason he wants him back? So she could be happy? But I'm going off topic. Since Naruto has feelings for Sakura, and he's the main character... do you think that will higher the chances of him getting Sakura in the end instead of Sasuke?

It's because of Hinata I have no doubt in my mind Naruto won't end up with Sakura. It's because of Tobi's twist in personality that I believe Kishimoto WOULD make us think Sakura was developing feelings of romantic love for Naruto, when really something different was going to happen.
When I look at that scene, I do think, yeah, Yamato was going to tell Sakura she loves Naruto. But not in those words. And not in that way.
Sakura can only do the dumbest things for Naruto, but it's because she does them because she cares for Naruto, is what counts. I do think Sakura loves Naruto, but not like she loves Sasuke. They're more like brother and sister to me. And if you look at it,
SasukeSakura-SakuraNaruto-NarutoSasuke Love-family-friendship
... I'll leave you to think whatever you like of it.
Sakura may have been immature in the beginnig of Part I, I mean, she was only twelve. When we look at our society now and compare her to the children of today, you can see where people would start saying she was too immature to understand true love.
But the thing is, Sakura ISN'T like people in RL, so you CAN'T compare them. Kids today like each other because the other is 'hot', 'it's the popular thing to do', or 'that person gives them buterflies in their stomach everytime they look at them'. And yeah, that might have been Sakura. But as the story progresses, we see that is not who Sakura becomes.
Sakura comes to love Sasuke for who he is. Not because he's hot. And not because it's popular to have a boyfriend (Or to one-up Ino, in her case. Though this may have been a factor in the beginning. By the end of the second phase of the Chuunin exams, that rivalry is pretty much gone. And since Sakura no longer stands in Ino's shadow, it is no longer a valid reason for her to case after Sasuke). That's why Sakura can not be put on the same level of 'immaturity' of the majority of kids who have crushes growing up. Sakura may only be thirteen by the end of Part I, but her feelings are very mature. Much more than that of which she is often compared to. The type of love she holds for Sasuke does not just go away like those buterflies in your stomach. Her love for Sasuke, the REAL Sasuke, is the kind that holds the potential to last through all eternity, and cannot be easily lost.
And that's why I can continue supporting SasuSaku~ heart C:

If Kishimoto puts Sakura with Naruto just for the sake of the 'unwritten rules of manga', I will be incredibly upset. However, if they get more development and we see more evidence towards Sakura's feelings for Naruto, I wouldn't mind it so much.
As it is, though, I think SasuSaku has more development than NaruSaku, and I doubt all that development will be thrown away. There's a reason for it. Because of this, I believe that SasuSaku still has a pretty shot at being canon, and I will continue to ship regardless of what happens.
And, as for the moment you mentioned, I don't see it as proof of NaruSaku. I haven't read that part of manga (skipped straight to the Team 7 reunion instead. xD), but from what I understand, Yamato hadn't known Sakura or Naruto very long. At least, not long enough to judge the nature of their relationship or how they feel for one another. Besides, Sakura's feelings can easily be seen as concern for a close friend or a person she cherishes like a brother.

In my most honest opinion, I can say that that is not what I thought Yamato was going to say, if he hadn't been interrupted.
I know a lot of NaruSaku fans say that "she looked like a deer-in-headlights" when he was saying it, and that "she started to sweat."
Dude. She had that same look after seeing Sasuke for the first time in 2 years. She was sweating because she nearly fell of a bridge and her best friend just attacked her.
Naruto might still be interested in Sakura, but whenever he proposed a date, I couldn't help but smile when she turned him down, saying "If you have time to waste on dates, you should be training."
Because it shows that Sasuke had a big and positive effect on her. It was Sasuke who compelled her to improve herself. Sasuke's influenced the way she views things a lot. And also, I smile because Naruto's getting what he deserves. As mean as that sounds, he shouldn't be fawning over Sakura. He should be training, as Sakura said, so they can bring back their godforsaken teammate D:

That is true. But that' gotten so cliche that people are starting to get tired of it.
Besides, remember in Harry Potter 7?
I used to always think that Harry was going to end up with Hermione, since he was the hero of the show. But, Hermione ended up with Ron, and Harry ended up with Ginny.
Now if you look at it this way, (as crazy as it might seem) the concept of love in both Harry Potter and Naruto are the same:
Harry Potter (The hero, like Naruto) is friends with Hermione (the main girl character, like Sakura) and Ron (the supporting main guy character, like Sasuke.) I'm not sure that Harry has a crush on Hermione, but there were little hints throughout the book, (kinda like the Yamato and Sakura thing, little things like that.) But Hermione, the main girl character, ended up with Ron, so it was like the main girl character anded up with the hero's best friend. (Like Sasuke and Sakura.)
MEANWHILE, Ginny has this huge crush on Harry. (Kinda like Hinata, who likes Naruto.) And THEY end up together.
See what I mean? Now, I don't now about you guys, but somehow thinking of Harry Potter makes me ship NaruHina and SasuSaku even more. xD

Kono omoi wa mune ni shimatte okou... I’ll keep this love in my heart…
I'm not sure, but I've heard from a few sources that Yamato wasn't implying romantic feelings on Sakura's behalf in chapter 297. In the Japanese raw version, it said something about her insecurity, but I'm not totally positive. >;3
...”Nakushita shimatta...” …”I’ve lost you…”

Let me add to Sakura La Croix's analogy with an anime reference.
Kishimoto has always been a big fan of DBZ (by Akira Toriyama) and he has stated that several things in Naruto was inspired by DBZ.
Maybe, we might infer, even the relationships.
Goku is the main guy, Bulma is the main girl. Vegeta is Goku's rival/sometimes friend. Chichi is not the main girl.
Goku sometimes acts perverted towards Bulma, who dismisses them. Chichi manages to trap Goku into marriage, and Bulma eventually ends up with Vegeta and has a son with him.
Goku = Naruto Vegeta = Sasuke Bulma = Sakura
Do the math.
(Though... Chichi = Hinata does not seem accurate...)
Anyway. I don't think that anyone should be jumping to conclusions about that statement Yamato made. I think that it's a pretty vague statement, and without stable basis on Yamato's part. he didn't know his team as well as, say, Kakashi.
Besides, if he were to say, "In truth, you care about Naruto very much," then that would be accurate, wouldn't it? It doesn't have to be in the romantic sense of the word.

What does Yamato know? He's known Naruto and Sakura for like, five minutes, and there he goes jumping to conclusions. It'd be funny if Sakura started insisting Yamato was in love with Kakashi or something.

Unfortunatley, yes i think there is a higher chance of a narutoxsakura relationship. But I think Sakura is partly undergoing a huge mental struggle.
She has feelings for Sasuke. Naruto is in danger and is having problems with his demon. Sasuke may not return or won't return feelings. Naruto has a partial crush on her. Sakura knows Hinata likes Naruto-I think she kind of respects that. Naruto is her closest friend left. Sasuke may never return or may turn evil.
She is not exactly sure. But think.....the series is about:Naruto What are Naruto's goals: Hokage and Sakura The good guy always wins and gets what he wants......?
