can you think back to the begining when you were a wee chap
can you remember when you first laid your eyes on what is known as anime?
what was the first one you saw and/or read?
ahh i remember when i was around 8 or 10...or 6 when i saw sailor moon
i used to watch it everyday until it was replaced by powerpuff girls but powerpuff girls is not really an anime...
i didn't know at first that sailor moon was anime... i didnt even know what anime was
then i started to watch dragonball z now that was a show
i think the only reason i watched it was because i thought it had something to do with dragons but none showd up but i still watched it
(i still didn't know what anime was...)
after the years went by and i turned 13 my sister started to watch tv...
there was nothing on so she was desperate
she started to watch... NARUTO
we all knew what naruto was a frankly we didn't like it one bit
we would make fun of it and tease his yelling voice but still my sister was too desprete
i was on the computer upstairs when i heard a strange noise coming from the tv... a screaming (what could she be watching)
i came down to see the episode when rock lee fought gaara
then i imediatly fell in love with lee and didn't really know what to think of gaara so i started to watch it
and that was my first anime (sorry it was so long heehee)

Hm...well, I watched Cardcaptors (dubbed Cardcaptor Sakura) when I was little, but I saw that as just another cartoon...an abnormally addicting cartoon, but still. Next up was Shaman King and Mew Mew Power, which I count those as my official first anime, even though I only really understood the term anime a few years ago when I started watching Naruto - which I only learned about through a video game magazine's ad.

I use to watch Cardcaptors and Outlaw Star...pokemon and digimon don't really count do they? There are prolly more...I just can't think of any right now ^^;

I guess Pokemon, but really I count Tenchi Muyo as my first anime ever. I used to watch that show dilligently. I didn't know what anime was until after I watched Princess Mononoke, and begged my mom to buy it for me. She researched it and later told me that it was an 'anime'. When I was young I also watched Berserk, that's the show that got me seriously into watching anime.

OMG SPEED RACER!! I don't know if i saw that before or after Sailor Moon, but I totally loved it....even though I don't remember. I know I saw it but I didn't know if I liked it. I am told though that I wanted his hair xd And then it was Sailor Moon. I was the only person in my family who liked it and I wanted to watch the movies whenever I could. My family said no though so they kinda ruined it for me. But I'm wondering if anyone remembers this one show called Flint the Time Detective? I don't know if it was an anime but I really liked it as a kid! It was a show about some wierd eggs that these kids had to find and take care of. There were evil bad guys that almost won but never did, like the old Team Rocket. One of the kids was this cave guy that accidentally got transported to the future by some old grandpa dude, and his hammer was his dad, or something. Something complicated happened with his dad and they put him in a hammer I think....It was a good show but the ending was a little lame.
After that was Digimon and Monster Ranchers. Two of the coolest shows I ever watched as a kid! Digimon was my favorite show and still is. And I have no problems admitting that I DID LIKE THE FOURTH SEASON!! It was a good season and better than the third with the whole tamers thing. I didn't like that one. I have to admit that I didn't know it was called anime until I was in 8th grade when someone told me sweatdrop But I guess I have been a fan since I was 4!

Oh yeah, Sailormoon...I use to be obsessed with that and I use to play it at school x3 Monster Rancher was the greatest ever! I had the game for the ps1 but my dad threw it away ;o; [along with digimon *cries*]

I guess you would clarify whether the anime was something you watched while you were young and didn't know what anime was or something you purposely looked for.
If it was the first one I ever saw, even though I didn't know it, then it was Battle of the Planets (Gatchaman) when I was seven.
If it was the one I purposely watched because I knew it was anime then that was Robotech. (I loved the romance in the Macross section) mrgreen

Ah, those good 'ol days....
*sigh* Sailor Moon and Pokemon, though I am proud to say I remember watching the premire of Pokemon in the states (back in the third grade if I am not mistaken...) and thinking "What a lame show..." The saddest part is that my friends and I still watched ever single episode, lol.

This is going to let you know how old I am if you look it up... Saber Riders and the Star Sherif. It came out a few years before I started watching it... I started watching it when I was 2. I had a crush on one of the guys too. eek

My mom use to watch Speed Racer with me when I was a kid. She had a crush on Speed when she was little.
