We need to organize how this guild is run a bit more. Mods need to step up more. Ace and I do most of the maintenance and such. (not to discredit others who some maintenance as well.) Once the subforum issue is complete I'll assign mods to the difference subforums to take care of maintenance and discipline in them. We need to change our methods of dealing with disciplinary problems. This may include all mods and VC's etc.. getting together in a private thread somewhere to discuss an issue and decide our course of action. We basically need to work together more and more efficiently so it don't seem like the guild is collapsing when a troll is on the lose. I'd like to even have a place in which two users can work out disputes between one another without disrupting the guild and the disputes would be mediated.

All this excites me as this can be a very efficient and a hardworking guild.

Well thought out. 3nodding

Now that we have three active captains, I'm sure the guild will run well.

I want an active guild. Hardcore active.

Once we get people posting in the subforums, it'll be a cakewalk.

I agree, but just as important as taking care of the guild internally is taking care of it externally. What I mean by that is that we have a LOT of mods, and we need to each do our part by sending out invites. Our guild needs to grow if it's gonna stay active as long as we hope for it to.

Btw, when I saw this topic name, I couldn't help but think "Nazi..."

gonk

I've been sending invites to new literates in the sticky, as well as searching next-gen console/game threads and sending invites as well. People should know that 20 invites doesn't equal 20 active members. It might take a lot of invites to get a handful of active people... but it's worth it.

But, a word to the mods, don't be afraid to make stickies, lock threads, move threads, etc. You're not overstepping your boundaries. You're helping us out. That's why we made you mods in the first place.

On a different note, I think it's a shame some of the founders (You can't love without hate, Paiking12, and that playstation chick with the hard-to-pronounce-username) hardly post anymore.

Already one step ahead of you. Look at this new banner I just personally made:

@ Ace: You seem excited about this too. lol

Haha, good luck with that, Ace. Like, 1 out of thirty people I invite actually post.

I have a whole list of people I invited and none of them are active. D:

@Tango: Same happened to me. Perhaps this new banner will encourage people to join by showing it's affiliated to a sticky.

Also we should go into VDG threads and mention our guild in discussions (w/o is being spam) to encourage people to join and stay active. Of course we need incentives to keep them..

I frequent versus threads, usually, but I'll try to frequent more discussion level threads.

Not to mention, the Gamers Debate Guild has been a little strict in terms of who it admits (I've seen some people not make the cut that are good people, too), but I think that those people would make fine additions here.

I was thinking....perhaps part of the reason is that it's pubic. I know that was the foundation this was founded on but since it's public perhaps less people see the need to actually become members and maybe they don't usually become regulars due to the fact that they aren't connected to it in any way. (not that invited people post much more frequently) lol

@red. whatever helps. 3nodding

Wak, if we mention our guild in the forums, it's kind of obvious we're members. That's advertising, it's against the VGD rules.

But still, I like that banner for two reasons. One, you used my banner biggrin and two it shows that we're affiliated with the sticky.

My guess is that we look for some major video game guilds and start cranking out affiliations.

Yeah, that's how this guild could be.

But it's sluggish... and we're desperate for members, so we aren't going to be hardcore strict. Down the line when we're established, we can afford to be picky.

Right now are only rules are you're a gamer, and you're semi-literate.

I mean mention it discretely.

Example Post: (Pretend you go post in a Metroid Prime 3 thread.)

I loved MP3. How do you think it compared to the other two?

I think you guys may like the guild in my sig..

Well, isn't this thread exciting. I see lots of good arguments, but nobody is actually arguing.

This is why I don't leave my guild...

Wow... I just realized how hard this is to come up with on the spot.

I'm not sure what to do with the reviews that my editors did not write in the reviews subforum.
