I've seen the thread about how long it takes some people to read books, either because they had to read it for school, or because they just weren't interested in the book, but determined to finish. I was wondering: If you are interested in what you are reading, how long does it take you to finish (assuming no one interrupts)? For example, I read Harry Potter and the Deatly Hallows in two days, but that was while I was at work, and them at home dealing with my family. I think I could have done it in one day solid without interruptions. I can read fluffy stuff like Star Trek novels in less than a day, even with interruptions.
How about you?

If i'm intrested in a book for example Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows i read in 4 hours without interuptions. It doesn't take me that long really if i don't have any interuptions and i am really interested in a book. It can take me up to a couple of days sometimes but thats if i read maybe an hour a day (very rarely) but yeah normally if im really interested depending how many pages etc. i'll read it really fast and then read it again later on lol.
Overall because it seems really confusing it doesn't take me that long without interuptions but i tend to read books over and over again really fast

Depends on the book and depends on if I have time. But I usually read fairly quickly

I tend to read neither fast nor slow. I like to read a book as if I was speaking it. I enjoy it better that way. I enjoy books the way I enjoy chocolate. Slowly so it lasts longer. I could probably read faster, but I just don't want to.
Plus, my mind wanders so at times it can take me ten minutes or so to finish a page. I'll be reading, then what I'm reading reminds me of something. I'll start thinking about that and the next thing I know it's been ten minutes or so and I will still be on that same page.
I only finished HPDH in less than one day because I was afraid my sister would come into the room and yell the ending before I finished.
So far as I can remember, the quickest it has taken me to read a book is 4 days. I read The Tale of the Body Thief by Anne Rice, which is 435 pages long, in four days.

I read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in 2 days flat after school started. But It's taken me almost a week to finish Inkheart. I guess for me it depends on the book and how much free time I have. I spent 3 months on Stephen King's Desperation on because I couldn't get much into it.

About average speed but it really depends on what I'm reading and how interested I am in it

Mallorys Wedgie Friend I'm slow... a page a minute... D: It takes me forever to finish a book. Same here but a bit faster. Maybe a paragraph over a page in a minute. For my average 300 pages, that's about 5 hours. Edit [4:42PM 27-10-09]: New average page number: 750 My how I have grown in this guild.

I read faster than I type so, I would say well over 75 words per minute (( I cant be accurate, thats just how fast I type.)).... I couldn't read the deathy hallows too quickly because I was someplace where I was too buisy to read, and even if I had time the people in charge would have shot me for slacking off... it was kind of terrible.

I read so much faster than I type. I read a litte over a page a minute, so that's much faster than my average speed of... I really don't know, I can just tell. Edit [4:39PM 27-10-09]: I type so much faster than I read. I read well under a page a minute, now that my books are that much more sophisticated and such. I type "hunt and peck" but I know where all the keys are, so my average speed is 28-32 70 words/minute.

It actually doesn't matter quite so much to me if I'm interested in it or not, what really matters to be is whether I have a goal or not. Like I just read Eclipse over the past 3 days with reading 2-3 hours a day because I wanted to have it done today so a friend could borrow it.
When I don't have a goal I tend to meander through a book, like Jiggery, I let my mind wander when I read and don't have a goal to finish it by so when that happens to takes me much longer to finish books.

I think I'm a fast reader if I'm really interested in the book. Sometimes it harder with all the interruptions life hands you. Sometimes I start a book only to find myself thinking how terrible this book is. I don't even care how it ends, and I'm not wasting my time trying to read it.

To me, I mostly read a 300 to 450 page book in one day if I don't have school. If I do have school it takes about a day and a half to read it. Truth be told I read the book Eclipse, the new book on Edward and Bella story in one day while at Barnes&Nobles. I was there to catch up in some Manga, but I couldn't help but read the third book I wanted to know what happen.
