The heavily pregnant mare paces around in the clearance where she promised her mate that she will be, waiting for him to return with something or with his sister. Tic chews on her lower lip in worried manner as she scans the clear blue skies for a familiar red parrot but there is no hint of him.. Frosta have hinted that Zaribe will be back with a pleasant surprise for her. She knows that the babies want to get out of her womb but she doesn't want to give birth alone.. and she want her mate to be there to share this with her. "Zaribe.. please return to me.. I do not want to do this alone." She calls out to the skies as her eyes wells up with frustrated tears. The hormones is wrecking havoc on her body and emotions.. she will get into crying jags at the weird or random times.

Tic decided to lie down and rest since she knows that she need to rest alot because its not good for her to be on her legs alot. She rests her head on the ground and closes her eyes with a sigh.

It felt strange saying goodbyes to herdmates he'd learn to like and wonder about. But, the parrot Soquili had left his heart somewhere, and she was waiting for any word. Nodding to the elder his eyes of soft brown scanned the now formed herd. Shaylee of course was there along with Arwen and Kairi. Many others had also showed up to wish the great scarlet farewell. Then with swift kick from the ground, along with basket in tow, the stallion set off for the skies.

~*~

Each wingbeat was a murmur of his heart, a frantic longing to be by her side. It had been days since he made his promise, a present he'd seek for her approval. Now, it possibly seemed frivolous to learn something he already knew, but in doing do he became stronger. Knowing that his heart, his love in body and spirit was what she'd find perfect, then he'd feel more at ease returning. Still the basket was a lovely addition, with so many things from friends near and dear. He was certain to make her squeal and giggle in delight. That's what he sought as his wings carried him closer. As each cloud passed by with a wispy coolness, he felt his strength growing. His legs pushing him as if dancing on air, scarlet, gold and blue shimmered as the sun touched upon them.

A beckoning to soothe the one that waited. A love that was deep and binding.

Swirling through the masses of clouds he saw the two-legger's dwelling, and the trees that grew so tall. Throwing his head back he pushed even further feeling his heart race as his wings beat frantically.

Nearly there, just a bit more.

Descending toward the ground he soared like a bird, his tail streaming behind him. A scarlet figure landing with sheer beauty and grace. Stepping forward he snorted looking around.

Where was she?

Finding a tall flat rock he placed the basket neatly in place, so it wouldn't fall. Then he shook his great neck and pawed the ground. His coat gleamed with the symbol shining for all to see. Each feather upon his wings were pristine and unbroken. Not even a sign of dirt was found anywhere upon that deep red coat. He was absolutely perfect, not to mention he smelled nice as well. Zaribe chuckled realizing while he slept he must of been pampered by Tirrana.

Tic? Tic Where are you?

Not seeing his shining love he snorted flicking his tail. Grinning he threw his head back as a deep rumble escaped from his chest. A stallion's call haunting and melodic rang outward so anything could hear him. A joyous calling of love that he desired so much his heart would weep.

"Tic Tac Toe! My Sunny Rainbow I've returned as I promised. And I Looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove Yoooooooooooooooou!"

He then quieted and waited for her to come bounding out of the trees or bushes. Soon he'd wrap his wings around her and being in his right full place once more.

Back in her heart where he belonged.

Tic is curled up under the tree, hidden from the view because she doesn't want predators to spot her because pregnant mares can be a very easy picking if the guard is let down for a second. She stretches her neck out as she tries to look up at the skies to see if her beloved is coming any time soon. After few minutes of watching, her eyes finally drooped close as she took a short nap because she have been up for a good part of night and day due to the restless motions of the babies inside her. A couple of appearing and disappearing lumps appears on her stomach which caused her to wake up and stand up because she thinks the babies are uncomfortable while she is laying down.

Tic's ears droops with exhaustion as she hangs her head low to the ground, trying to sleep. The sound of wings swooshing and thudding of hooves alerted her that she is not alone anymore and her ears pricks up tiredly while her eyes looks around for the source of that sound. She couldn't see anything so she slowly steps out of the comfort from the trees. The familiar boisterous voice reaches to her ears as she smiles, trotting all way toward her mate. "Zaribe!!" She cries out happily as she approaches her mate but she suddenly stops in surprise as she sees the almost overflowing basket next to him. "Zaribe...I love you too!!" She laughs as her eyes wells up with tears due to the hormones that is running her ragged. She ran all way up toward him and nuzzles him to make sure she is not dreaming at all.

"Oh Zaribe... My parrot... I have missed you so... but ...I have some news I need to show you." Tic hesistately says as she steps backward so Zaribe could see her swollen stomach fully. A tentative smile appears on her face as she looks at her mate. "We are going to be a mommy and daddy..." She spoke as she chews on her lower lip as she watches him, not sure how he is going to react.

His heart was murmuring yet it screamed loudly which each anxious beat within his breast. Her scent was too far away and it made his hooves dance amongst the hardened dirt, making his glow with pride. Whickering once more he tossed his great head and snorted.

Perhaps he should call her attention once more?

Not a moment too soon after he heard the sweet call of one known as his beloved. Perking his ears his nodded his head outstretching his tricolored appendages. Sleek, groomed, and very striking, he showed off his plumage for his lady fair.

"Sunny Rainbow!" his voice grunted with a sound that could of been thought of as a bird's squawk.

At first he didn't take notice as he blew kisses and snorted his affection for her. No matter what she looked like he loved her with all his heart, nothing would ever change past that. All he knew was he was back, near his shiny yellow mare that beamed like a rainbow as it reflected a prism in the sunlight. She was so beautiful, even words couldn't write beauty about her. Sure she seemed to look a little on the heavy side, but Zaribe knew not to tease mares about their eating habits or their figures. For one swift toss of the head or a cow kick was enough to make someone remember to never do that again.

Momentarily he forgot about the basket along with his quest he'd strive to complete, only that he was here... now.

As she spoke his ears swiveled forward, eyes of deep brown gazing upon her in curiosity. It took a few moments for those words to set in finally.

We are going to be a mommy and daddy...

Tilting his head with another blink of his eyes a big grin started curving very slowly upon his muzzle. I'm a father? Now this was something that made him puff out his bold chest, letting the scarlet coat shimmer and glow like red fire. Imagine him a father with little parrotlings running after him. Oh my the possibilities that traveled through his head with fast paced motions. He was simply proud as those peacocks but with much more dignity. Though he wanted to strut like one, that's for sure.

"Really!" he exclaimed with a deep chuckle tossing his head while it bobbed back and forth. "You and me with a parrot fa-mi-ly?" he sang aloud with a silly tone in his voice. Poking his head down he nuzzled her belly blowing warm air out in his rapture. Waiting patiently he got a response as something bumped his nose from in Tic's womb. Had the little ones known their daddy was there greeting them? Chuckling he nuzzled her belly once more getting the same effect.

Then he raised his head letting the tri-colored mane fall back along his shoulders, "Tic! Oh my lovely Sunny Rainbow! This is my final ending in the quest!" he announced trotting over to the huge basket, "Don't you see I've found the perfect gift."

Picking the wicker basket up in his teeth he sat it on the ground between them, his rainbow tail swishing back and forth. There were so many things to tell her, precious memories that flitted and swooped back to him like a great bird returning to the nest. Stories of old, stories of new, a path waiting to be written into a new tale.

He would tell her the perfect gift, but then again if she were like him, she'd know it already within her own beating heart.

Tic Tac Toe immediately got showered with affection which she happily returned with her own affectionate nuzzles, lips and kisses. A happy and content murmur escapes her throat as she is finally in her mate's arms (figuratively speaking) once again and she doesn't want him to leave her side ever again. But she couldn't help but to peek at the basket curiously because apparently those gifts are for her but she doesn't really want any of those.. all she wanted is Zaribe and the children that is growing inside her right now.

Tic watches Zaribe anxiously as she broke the news to Zaribe but when she sees the huge grin appearing on her mate's face, a look of sheer relief and happiness replaced the anxious expression on her face. She laughs happily as she looks at Zaribe then she nods quickly. "Yep.. us with a parrot fa-mi-ly!" She exclaims as she smiles when Zaribe nuzzled her swollen stomach and the foals inside her womb reacted by bumping into his nose. "They know you are their daddy..." Her eyes well up with happy tears as she watches her mate with a happy smile on her face.

The pregnant mare smiles as she watches Zaribe carry the basket over and she shook her head. "I already got the perfect gift, Zaribe. Its you.. you are my perfect gift.. along with the foals that is growing inside me right now." She whispers as she walks over to him and nuzzles him affectionately. "I love you, my parrot."

Sunny Rainbow, a permanent name he'd given her from their first meeting on the day they shared delicious sugarplums. She was a sight to behold in those deep brown eyes of the macaw stallion. For an instant his mind traveled back to his sister wondering where and what she was up to. Then as fast as it had flickered in, his patterned thoughts rested gingerly upon his mate and the jumbling masses in her womb. Two were distinct of course he noticed by the moment. One was a bit smaller while the other was bolder and bigger. Both certainty knew he was dad of course the way the greeted him with their bumps upon his nose.

Where would she nest he wondered?

"Have you a nest set up my love? Parrotlings where Zi and I hail from are born in nests." He thought a moment then remembered she wasn't a flyer like the parrots he knew back home. The male parrots always made the nests for it was their duties as mates. He'd see about that immediately after their affections were settled and cleared.

Upon her mentioning of his answer to the effect of the gift, he grinned quite happliy, "Took me how many days to realize I was your perfect gift hee hee. Oh well these things are what others offered to you, showing love from all of us. You can thank Celendria for this wonderful learning experience."

For a moment his words settled as only his deep grunts and breathing were heard. Nestling his head into her neck and mane, Zaribe in took the scent he'd missed for so very long. Curving a wing over her back, he rested it there as a human wraps their arm around their loving mate.

Tic grunts as one of the babies kicks her in the bladder which caused her to stomp her foot down in pain and slight annoyance before another hoof found its way to her lung. She tosses her head as she struggles to breathe for little bit before she smiles at her mate. "They are very active little parrotlings, my love." She says breathlessly as she shifts her weight around to make sure she is comfortable. Tic nips at Zaribe's neck affectionately before she murmurs happily, happy to have her mate back and she have a feeling that her children is getting impatient to hop out of her womb and into the baskets that is waiting nearby for them.

Tic blinks owlishly at her mate in confusion. "Nest? Um... No.. do I have to make a nest so our babies could survive?" She began to fret as many of the thoughts ran through her mind. "What do I have to do or get to make the nest, Zaribe.. I want those children to have best nest they could ever have in their lifetime." She frets as she moves from her mate and looks around for suitable things to make nest with.

Tic chuckles at her mate as she smiles happily at Zaribe. "I have known that you are my perfect gift.. along with those babies inside me from the day one, my parrot." She says with a soft smile on her face as she looks up at him lovingly. "But those gifts are very beautiful! I smell sugarplums in there.." Her nostril flares up eagerly as she peers at the basket curiously.

Zaribe looked around them considering what to make. He was a fine built stallion capable of creating a nest fit for queen. Noticing twigs and nettles, leaves and the like he nodded, taking note where they'd be in a few moments when he'd start.

His moment of urgency hit him as she winced from the swift movements within her womb. Nest. He needed a nest for her soon. Leaning inward his warm puffs of breath slowly glided toward her neck and cheek in reassurance. He was going to be the best father that one could be. A role model for his parrot children born of the Sunny Rainbow he'd given his heart to willingly.

"You will not do anything my Sunny Rainbow. I will make you the perfect nest that is fit for a golden queen." Tossing his head he nodded and kissed her with his velvety touch.

When she took interest to the basket and answered his question correctly he grinned quite proudly, "Yes there are compliments of that little purple wonder. She was quite excited to give them to you as a gift my love."

Stepping backwards he bowed to her with urgency in those deep caring eyes, "Now I must begin my task before your little ones get more eager to arrive".

Trotting off he started grabbing twigs, branches, and all things usuable, lying them within a neat little pile near her. Now and then sizing up what he'd need with her own weight he scurried this way and that pulling stuff into the pile. Leaves here, twigs there, and so many sticks and other soft things that he couldn't recall grabbing.

Seeking the perfect spot he began intertwining things together as they started forming his ideal nest for her.

Tic Tac Toe breathes heavily as the foals began to get really restless, kicking all over the places while positioning themselves to exit her body. The mare smiles wanly at Zaribe lovingly before she tosses her head in pain, stamping her hoof against the tree.

"Golden queen? I think I like that name" Tic laughs as she watches her mate collect things to make her a nest. She still don't understand why its important for Zaribe's kind to have nests for their young'uns but she just merely wanted to please Zaribe and raise the children properly. Eventually she will bug her mate to explain more about the nests because she is curious and confused about this.

Another hard kick to her rib cage caused her to dance backward in pain and with a grunt. Tic laughs weakly as she moves closer to her mate while murmuring to comfort herself. "I think they are getting quite impatient, parrot..." She whispers to her mate as she doesn't really want to hurry him along but the babies are pressing really heavily against her womb and its hurting her really badly.
PostPosted: Sat Nov 10, 2007 2:36 pm

His eyes darted to her bulging tummy with great fear and excitement as he weaved the sticks and brambles into an actual nest she could rest within. True it wasn't the best nest, but please don't breathe a word to the startled stallion that he was imperfect. The slightest imperfection would of sent him ripping and redoing the structure all over again, and that was the last thing he needed.

Stamping his hoof he grew impatient knowing his time wasn't on his side hearing her grunt and stammer from the babies' announcing arrival. Grabbing a mouthful of old blankets and soft bedding he finally stepped back to survey his handiwork. Things were unsettled, but his darting eyes back to Tic screamed mentally there was no more time. "Tic can you walk over here. Come your nest is ready my Sunny Rainbow."

He sprinted over to her wrapping a wing around her bulging stomach and shoulders as the contents kicked outward determined to nail him in the side. He didn't mid this attention but that last one... wow was that painful. Stepping lightly he urged her toward the nest for without realizing it Tic's water had already gave way and the parrotlings were coming rather they were ready or not.

Tic smiles reassuringly at Zaribe as she could see that he is trying his best to finish the nest before the parrotlings come but her eyes fills with unshed tears of pain as another contraction decided to make itsself known. She did a small little dance in the spot as she tries to hide the pain from Zaribe because she doesn't want him to worry about her. A small pained whinny escaped her throat and brought Siryn Tiger running out of the forest toward them but the human suddenly stops.

"I think I can.." Tic breathlessly says as she looks at the nest, awed at how fast and accurate Zaribe was with creating the nest for her. Her heart swells up with pride and love for her mate as her unshed tears began to roll down her cheeks but in sheer happiness. "I can see that.. and the nest looks so beautiful and perfect.." She whispers to her mate as she slowly makes her way over to the nest with Zaribe's assistance. She smiles as she felt his wing wrapping around her body as they walked over to the nest. "You are going to be a wonderful father.." Tic smiles as she settles down on the nest with a grunt before she kicks her hind leg out behind her in pain. "Ow..."

Siryn Tigera was lurking around nearby, watching the sunny mare whom is swollen with perhaps two foals because she knows that Tic Tac Toe would need baskets. She already came prepared with a sling full of the long dried grass and she sat down in the plain view so they won't get alarmed then began to weave the baskets with her nimble fingers. While she is weaving the baskets, she began to sing the song that have been passed down the generations that was believed to bless the baskets that is being created for the soquilis.

Occasionally her smoky eyes will glance up at the mother to be to see if she need any assistance or see if the foals are born or not. A slight smile tipped up at her lips as she watches the concerned father trying to help the mother that is going through the probably the worst pain she will ever experienced
PostPosted: Sat Nov 10, 2007 7:13 pm

Zaribe grunted with urgency leading her toward the soft nesting where she'd give life and breath to their children. What would they be he wondered deeply as she lied down within his creative sanctuary? Would they be of the earth or the trees like himself and Zikeria? Or would they simply just be both though have gorgeous bright colors flickering off of them in radiant hues? Whatever they were they were frisky little ones so Zaribe was certain the birthing would go smooth and faultless.

Occasionally his curiosity took his attention of the girl weaving the baskets as she kept her own vigil. Seemed if they did have problems everything would be taken care of.

So he nuzzled Tic as he whispered wonderful things to her over and over, "Just a bit more Tic.... then we'll be a big happy family once they're able to stand and walk on their own. We just need to hold patience for them." Nesting his wing over her he knelled his head inward and waited for the party to begin as he himself fell to his knees near her side.

Siryn Tigera just simply smiles at Zaribe as he glances over at her before she holds up one finished colorful basket to show him that everything is under control. The young female began to work more quickly on the second basket because she knows that the time is against her right now. She could see some movements behind Tic and she knows that there is no time for her to work on more baskets just in case Tic have more so she just let her fingers fly through the dried grass, and a basket just quickly formed into a real nice looking basket with similar colors to the first basket. "Parrot..." Siryn spoke in a gentle tone as she gets up with two completed basket but she could see that the first foal was out. "I am going to put this little'un in the basket.." She explains to the father as she moves toward the parents to get to the bright colored foal then she carefully puts it in the basket and places the top on it with a gem glimmering in the sunlight. "Just one more.." She moves around to Tic's neck and strokes lightly.

Tic smiles gratefully at Zaribe as he settled down next to her, she nuzzles her mate lovingly before a soft pained whinny escapes her muzzle when she felt another contract swing through and she pushed instinctively to get one baby out of her. She tosses her head in pain before the thin sheet of sweat covers her body because it is taking everything right out of her. When the contraction subsides, Tic rests her head against Zaribe's neck positively exhausted from all of the pushing she did to get the child out. She could hear Siryn's silent encouragements like "Just one more push" or "you are doing a great job, girl" inside her mind.

The mare managed to push a foal out with a loud grunt and she turns around to examine the foal, lipping and licking the filly off. She glances up at Siryn whom just smiled reassuringly at them then placed the sleepy filly in the basket. Its almost like it was a cue for another foal to come out because the contractions began once again shortly after the filly was secure in the basket. "Oh ow ow ow ow.." She whispers in pain as she automatically began to push once again while laying on her side, her swollen stomach moves up and down with her heavy breathing. After 10 minutes of contractions and pushing, the cold is finally out and Tic repeated the action she did with the filly, cleaning it off before Siryn put the newborn colt in the basket. "We did it..." She tiredly says as she smiles up at Zaribe with glowing happy eyes.

Not once did he move from where the stallion had settled himself.

Usually mares pushed the males away for this was a special time, yet Tic allowed the great colorful parrot to stay by her side. Maybe fate was truly a blessed thing to bring them together, Zaribe didn't mind. His eyes never left hers though the two-legger caught his attention with the baskets she was making. Strange how those creatures seemed to know what to do when little ones came along. They truly were marvelous creatures these humans.

Each grunt, every pain his compassion reached out to her with fierce devotion. He began nuzzling and comforting with soft breaths upon her face and neck, though he was wildly curious as he watched his own babies born right before him. Not knowing the gender he noticed each when born was different in color and size. Perhaps they were blessed with both a boy and a girl he pondered.

Till the last seized moment he held his breath while each foal was placed in its own respective sanctuary. Smiling he looked deeply at the sweat soaked mare, taking in that glow he loved about her. "You did it Sunny Rainbow. We have our family now. I love you so much."

His eyes held great love for her as the parrot stallion finally produced a lazy yawn. Much had happened in the past week, for now he wouldn't mind a nice bit of shuteye to ease his thoughts.

Siryn smiles gently at the sight of the mates relaxing together after going through labor and birth of two probably most colorful foals she ever seen in her lifetime. She quietly nudges the baskets closer to the parents and murmurs some compliments and encouragements for them to grow up strong and big just like their parents. "You did a very good job, Tic." She spoke softly to the now slender mare then she smiles at Zaribe before she stood up. She knew that she is not wanted around here and her job is done for now so she just disappears into the forest soundlessly just like she appeared to help with the birth.

Tic just sighed in relief as she smiles at her mate, knowing that the hardest part is over.. now the fun part is coming.. raising their first offspring together. First children... Tic thought to herself as she felt like her heart just lodged itsself in her throat and she felt like she want to weep with joy and overwhelming emotions. She watches Siryn handle the baskets with tenderness and love and pushed those baskets closer to them. She nickers in gratitude to the human before she leans against Zaribe in sheer exhaustion while feeling one basket bump against her side.

"I love you too Zaribe... our family is now complete..." Tic yawns as she murmurs lazily before she nuzzles his neck lovingly. "Now.. we rest.. we have been through so much. Tomorrow.. we will enjoy our time with the baskets.." She tiredly says before she nudges both of the baskets more closer to the parents for protection.
