It was safe to assume Kimanda had no idea where he was going. If not for the sun rising and setting each day, he probably wouldn't be able to tell which way was north. As it were, he had a hard time noticing when the day ended and it was time to sleep. Well, sleep carefully. Lions lurked after dark and it was fair to say about half did not take kindly to his journey taking him through their hunting grounds during the hunting hours. Fortunately, it was midday. It was time to seek shelter from the harsh sun. Kimanda halted and looked around, realizing he had no idea where he was. It seemed vaguely familiar...but...how often did he see rocks and grasses? Nearly every day? Yeah. Well, there goes that theory.

So he trotted towards the largest rock he could find when suddenly, something green caught his eye. Not grass green, no. This was a healthy green. Intrigued, Ki stopped his mission and peered at the object. Animal. Cheetah! Oh, sweet gods above, she was a girl. It was some kind of miracle! (Or was it a hallucination?) Kimanda wasn't taking any chances. He approached the stranger.

"Hey there, pretty lady! I'm Kimanda. What's your name?

Kuumia looked up. She was in a bitter mood, a hateful mood. Well it really wasn't a mood. It was her personality. Her was of just... being. Her hard eyes made contact with the brown cheetah standing before her. His words made the fur on the back of her neck stand up. She had only been away from Xana a few days and there were already males waiting to speak with her. Since, of course, she was the center of everything.

Kuumia sat down, a pleased look on her face. This was something fun. Something that Could her interest. That is... For a little while. She smiled her usual fake smile, batting her eyes. An image of Xana showed up with every quick blink. He wouldn't like this one bit. But he had gone off to do some errand and left her alone. What he didn't know wouldn't hurt him.

At the same time, the old Kuumia was resurfacing and if this boy wasn't careful he might get chased off with a few claw mars dawn his back.

"I'm Kuumia... Why are you so quick to approach me?" She knew from past experience that is most certainly wasn't safe. Especially since he was dealing with a malicious female.

Kimanda halted as soon as the female spoke. Something, somewhere in the back of his mind, start to wave a little read flag. There was something strange about this one. It wasn't that she wasn't happy to see him, he was used to that. Maybe it was the bat of the eyes and the nasty question all at once. It was like walking on thin ice (not that Ki knew what that was) or wading through rivers. Who knew when something was going to get you? "Why not?" Kimanda countered. He would probably have to give a better reason to keep her from pouncing him. (He'd been attacked more than enough days of late.)

"You are the first cheetah I've seen in ages. Ages!" It was always lions he ran into. Lionesses, to be more specific. Lionesses who thought he was the strangest looking lion they'd ever seen. Oh, at least not a cheetah. And when they determined yes, he was a cheetah, they informed him he was rather skinny. Like maybe he didn't know, or something. Oi.

Maybe she should just leave. This boy already seemed to creep her out. He was to happy... to in her face. Her thoughts were already jumbled, and seeing Xana again after this encounter would only piss him off. She could imagine it now. A bloodbath. And He wouldn't let her have any fun in it. He'd just drag her off. Where was the fun in that? There wasn't.

Then again... She stopped, counted to ten, and smiled. Fake. Thats what she was. She was a fake that wanted to hurt people and to see them in pain. She was one of a kind. Little and quick to make up her mind when it came to fighting or not fighting. Everywhere Kuumia went there was almost always a hit thrown by her.

"Thats nice." She tried to sound somewhat polite. The irritation in her voice easily heard. She had flipped. Changed in a mere second. This boy would have to try hard to impress her.

...maybe this was why Kimanda didn't hang around with other cheetahs. He narrowed his eyes and tipped his head, trying to inspect Kuumia closer. Gods. What was going on? She was fake, well, the smiles and friendliness were fake. That much as obvious was as soon she spoke again. The question was, what was her motive? Did he actually want to know? Er, not really. So the brown cheetah settled for shifting around, not diverting his eyes from the green female.

"So. Uh." Come on, Kimanda, think! She didn't seem like the type who wanted to hunt with him. Maybe...race? No. The sun was at his peak. He wasn't an idiot. "So, what are you doing out in the middle of the day? Traveling somewhere?" Yeah, like they had something in common. "Or is this some nefarious plot?" That could be fun. Well, as long as it was some sort of silly prank...that didn't involve lions. Kimanda would prefer avoiding causing trouble with lions.

Kummia threw her head back and laughed. It wasn't a sweet one. It had a feel of darkness. Harsh Malice. Cruel hate. Everything she had longed to be for so long. Her polite disposition changed in a heartbeat. And she took a step forward. Her mellow eyes had changed into a hard stare of disdain. A dark smile appeared on her face and she spoke. Harshly and clearly.

"Oh thank the Gods! Seeing through me so quickly!" There was nothing nice about her. Even on her good days she got so annoyed she left with an 'i hate you.' It's how she worked. How she was programmed. All those lonlyey nights had taken a toll on the previously adorably sweet cheetah. No more would she get stepped on. SHE would do the stepping.

"So, would you like a chase or should I just 'eat' you now?" She always 'ate' what ever she was angry at or about. Her thoughts flashed back to the ugly little leopon she swore she'd literally eat.

"Eat me?" Kimanda parroted, snorting. He shook his head. Kummia couldn't mean that literally (honestly, eating a cheetah wouldn't be worth the trouble of catching it), but Kimanda had no idea what that could actually mean. The brown cheetah didn't take a step back. Too self-assured (or maybe just too careless), he didn't feel particularly threatened yet. His tail flicked. "I don't think I care to be eaten." Ki tipped his head to one side. He never actually tried it. He couldn't actually say.

"But then again, what do I know? Are you sure that's really what you want to do?" Kimanda was quite sure the female would say 'yes'. It didn't bother him though. He still wasn't worried. Besides, if she came after him, he could probably get away. (He still wasn't worried about an attack, really.) Besides, he'd hardly done anything to the other cheetah, short of greeting her upon sighting. She couldn't possibly be that mad.

There was something about the cheetah that made Kuu twist her face into a disgusted scowl. Every time he opened his stupid little mouth she grew more and more annoyed. Maybe it was that he wasn't scared. He should be scared. He NEEDED to be scared. She'd hurt something without a reason. Just for the pleasure of having her sharp cold claws rip into the soft warm flesh of another living being. It was the rush she needed. It's what kept her alive.

"Yes. EAT YOU." She nearly screamed in his face. She was getting flustered and irritated. "And Of course I'm sure. I'm the queen cheetah around here and I. Do. What. I. WANT."

Honestly she had never been this upset in her life. Her rapid mood swings were never this violent. There was just something about kindness that put an odd taste in her mouth. A bitter taste that made everything worse. It made her whole world go red.

She couldn't keep herself on the ground anymore. So she did the only logical thing she could think of (Well, Logical to her.) and pounced with claws outstretched and a snarl on her face.

Kimanda really needed to learn something about assumption: he was almost guaranteed to be wrong. His ear flicked back as Kuu snarled. He really should have been alarmed, but he wasn't. The brown cheetah was too confident for his own good sometimes. (Or was he just unobservant?) His ears swept back as she screamed. Hey! She didn't need to get in his face about it. "Hey!" he exclaimed. I believe you! No need to shout!" He continued frowning as he eyed the female. He wasn't terribly fond of shouting. And besides, she could be the queen around here for all he cared! He would be out of her by the evening, he was sure.

Kimanda was never expecting the female to pounce. Even when she launched herself into the air, Kimanda still wasn't believing Kuu was actually attacking him. It didn't make sense! He didn't contradict her, didn't pick a fight, didn't-

The spotless cheetah was suddenly thrown to the ground, claws scraping across his flesh. He yowled and began to wriggle wildly, thrashing out in any direction. Finally, he got himself to his feet and whirled around, unwilling to let the green cheetah out of his sight. She has just snapped! "What the hell was that for?!" he demanded, a trickle of blood dripping down his face. He still wasn't scared, not yet. It still hadn't occurred to him he should be.

It was safe to say that Kuumia was almost done with this pathetic piece of cheetah. He wouldn't fight back and he wouldn't retreat. Kimanda was to proud or just to stupid to run from her sharp personality that matched her teeth and claws.

Kuumia had been is several fights before, but she usually only picked on smaller things. They made her feel more in control and invincible. But this Cheetah, the only one that she had ever honestly been close to an actual fight with, was just like all the younger once she paws had trounced on. He was Pathetic. And to make it worse? He was boring.

"What was it for?" Kuu scoffed. "It was for the sole reason of I don't like you." That much had to be obvious. To her, it only proved the original point of he was stupid. Incredibly stupid. "So say one more thing that I don't like. Do it. You'll be limping out of my sight instead of walking out with you're shattered pride."

Kimanda snorted, his masculinity seriously affronted. If she had said anything but that, anything but that, he would have taken off, right then and there. But no. She had to go and mention the wounded ego. So, of course, being the tough male the thought he was, he really needed to defend that pride. His chest puffed and his ears flattened against his skull. She was making him angry. Anger was such a rare thing for him, he hardly even recognized it.

"Yeah?" he jeered. He was too frustrated to think clearly now. Sure, he might be a little skinny, but he was still a decent size. "I dare you. I bloody dare you to try it again," he challenged, lips curling into a sneer. Smart move? No, not at all. However, Kimanda finally got a hold on what was coming to him. He wouldn't be caught unaware again. "Let's test your theory."
PostPosted: Fri Dec 07, 2007 2:16 pm

Oh? What was that? Was he trying to fight back? She tutted. Kimanda had already shown he was weak and pathetic. She had landed a hit without really trying. But now. It had become a challenge and she was going to run with it and smash his pretty little face into the cold hard dirt. He had picked what would happen, but a part of her wished he had just walked away. A fight with someone her size would be much more difficult than normal.

Kuuma stopped to evaluate her situation. It seemed to her to be a fair fight. Her experience vs his size. This would soon turn into her very first game of wits. "You dare me? Then you've got it." She snarled and spat at him and attempted to get at his throat. No matter what anyone did, they ruined her mood. If they're sweet she was annoyed. If they were rude she was threatened. She was begining to think that no matter what she did, she would always end up with a fight in her claws.

That was such a stupid thing to do, stupid stupid stupid. It was a shame Kimanda's pretty little head could not comprehend the weight of the decision he just made. Kuumia was far more experienced in the art of fighting; the only 'fighting' Kimanda ever did was the bringing down of his prey. Those, being small mammal-ish things, did not fight back as another cheetah would.

Kimanda barely had time to register what the other cheetah said before he realized he needed to move. Legs gathering underneath him, he barely darted away in a tangle of limbs. He still felt the rip of claws across his skin, but he was otherwise lucky. It was only a flesh wound. And that was when Kimanda realized what an idiot he was being. He didn't stop moving and he didn't look back.

He probably wouldn't have another getaway chance like this. Hopefully Kuumia didn't give chase. Kimanda wasn't sure what kind of runner she was.

Red Blood. Red Blood. Best friend. Favorite color. The feeling of ripping through fur and flesh. Slicing with ease. She smiled as her ran away from her sharp teeth and claws. It was rewarding knowing that she still had a fighting spirit and a strong will to fight. The one thing she loved more than herself.

She stood, satisfied. Kimanda was running like a frightened hare into the horizon. It was a taste of victory, even if it was by default. It was all the same to her. A win was a win. And a loss had yet to happen. Her ego was inflated.

Kuumia watched him run, waiting for him to get far enough away that she felt comfortable leaving. She might have a fighting spirit, but was far to lazy to go after him and test his cowardice. She hadn't lost once and was not going to let her ignorance ruin that for her.
