This is a story about a person named Aaron, who has been on gaia since november 20th 2004.
Tek tek was but a glisten in the eye of the creater back then, but it still allowed you to tek tek a dream avi. So after i got situated when i joined i proceeded to play around on it.
I tek teked for hours, not likeing much of anythign i made except this one blue and white avi i made. (blue being my fav color). it looked like this:
It was worth about 58k back then.
So i said "yeah ill do it, ill get that avi! its all ill work on!" and i began to collect. Now mind you gold was alot harder t get back then i still managed to get the 12k to get the 2 ice guantlets and the pants shoes shirt and headgear in a months time of hardcore questing.
I was excited! 12k down, only 3 items left to get! one being 20k (the scarf) and the other 2 being about 14k (the anklets) and 12k (the headband). So i started saving and never spending my gold on anything. finally after half a year i managed to get to 20k, i was so ecited and was close to the angelic scarf. and when i went to look for one to get, i was horrifyed to find something.
the price had risen from 20k to 40k, in just 6 months. and the anklets had gone up to about 34k, and the headband to about 30k. i was upset, why did they go up so much? but disgruntled as i was, i kept on and saved more.
about another half a year'ish went by and i managed to save up 40k and i blted to check for the price of the scarf. it was 100k then. the anklets were 80k, and the headband was about 60k.
i was furious, so i quit gaia. for about 8-10 months.
i finally came back in in late 2005 only to find the scarf was now 1 mil the anklets were about 200k and the headband was about 200k too. i picked up where i left off and began to collect items to try and work up as fast as i could.
this went on through 2006. at the begining of 2007 the scarf was now 2 mil, and i had about 1 mil in items. so i quested on and eventully managed to buy the angelic headband when the price dropped to 140k, and i quested on.
Well now, being near the end of 2007, i decided to check my worth to see if i was near 2 mil. IT WAS! i am now worth 2,103,102 gold!! i ran to check the price of the scarf today afetrr finding that out!
IT IS 2,900,000 MIL!!!!!
WTF!!!!!
i have been chaseing this damn scarf for 3 years now!! every time i get close, it gets this boost of value, just out of reach!
its to the point now, where im sick and tired of trying to get it. its been 3 years and no luck. i was willing to sell everything i had to get it and i would be compleatly happy again. i would wear that dream avi and only that for the rest fo my time on gaia and i would be ESTATIC! but no! gaia doesnt want me to have it.
So now, i wonder, what the hell is the point of trying to save up and get this one item ive been after for 3 years? there is no point from what i see now.
so we wil just see what happens now, cause im sick of saving, getting my hopes up, then realizeing i just didnt quite cut it again.
If you read all that, yay for you, you now know what ive been up too these past 3 years on gaia. =]
