 Tope knew that Jini liked rabbits... so he was going to get her one. End of story. He had been on his own for a couple of weeks now, not really alone-but with his 'mate' Jini. He felt so proud and grown up, being with her and being away from the family. He did miss them he found-missed everyone-including Dad. He knew that it was not right-what happened, but he did not have the courage to return home-not yet. He stalked, his gloved paw reaching infront of him in the grass, his pink eyes searching for any movement. His ears twitched... even though he was supposed to be getting Jini a gift before she woke up. Sooooooo
Here he was, with his hind end in the air-waiting to catch some meat for his beloved, and he sat down and huffed. He had so much on his mind... and he didn't think he could do anything about it.
This was pretty crappy considering he was pretty happy

A flick of his head pained him, not as much as it used to but it was like those irritating stings that just lingers. He had a flash of an image of a young male, one that seemed familiar but at the same time not. He looked up from his spot, under a gnarled baobao tree, it's leaves loomed out casting it's eerie shadow. The sun made the ground dance with lights, a distraction feature of nature these days. Dumu had to be alone for a while, his mind reeled with pain now, more so often. Perhaps the dormant powers reawoke for a reason, one he could not recall, but it was coming back with a vengence. That image... that lion... who-no, where has he seem his face before?
His mind blacked out all thoughts, focusing on the ones he wanted. More pain. More voices. Needless images. With a roar echoing in his head it hit him. The image that was seen was from a dream, how could he have forgotten, it was the night of after meeting his ol' friend, Umo. Come to think of it, his dreams didn't seem so original anymore and his only one original dream didn't seem to be all that true. So much for the lone female in the single ray of light. His heart still yearned for that one person who soothed him so. Digress, it is no time to think about him right now, it was time to focus on finding other things to do other than thinking about that fluffy mane and... ugh.
He raised to his paws and wandered into a general direction, his mind will make his paws take him where he had to go.

Tope fiddled with a stick, his paws wrapping around it delicatley as he nibbled on it. He didn't know why, but he felt so much angst... he was antsy and woke up sore at night-perhaps all this darn stress was wearing on him. He yawned, wondering if perhaps he was going to get his lady a meal later... she wouldn't miss what she didn't have in the first place, mostly if she didn't know she had it. He stretched, rolling his shoulders.... he wasn't used to not having his siblings around...
Lucky for him, he left before his eldest sister and his mother gave birth too eleven more cubs all together. He sighed, thinking of what his parents were doing... he had promised to meet his brother later the week, and he looked foreward to seeind Ardhi. He really missed his brother. He blinked his pink eyes slowly-pondering his fate...
He rose his head slowly and yawned again, standing up slowly and shaking... perhaps today would be a day to just be with Jini... After all-she was all he had now.

The dark male rounded over the hill and looked down below the slopping side. Not too far off was a coat that was muddy and dark just like the swamps of that Pride. He smirked as he color and markings were just as he had seen those many cycles ago and just a moment ago. He scratched his head and scoffed.
"Stupid visions need to stop itching..." he muttered. He looked around to see what he was doing. Umo said that this one had scarred him and left, left out any details what he has been up to. Though, he reallly doubted that he was able to know. He had a family to care for and Tope was of age to get out and leave. Mah, train of thought was gonna go in circles at this rate. He looked down once again before smirking. Perhaps he could catch him off guard and get at him.
Crouching low, he quietly but swiftly moved down the hillside. The grass brushing up against his sides making the sound of a snake moving about the grass. That brushing sound that seems to always give others away. Frankly, he could care less if Tope saw him, he just wanted to play a little.

Tope was frustrated and his head hurt from thinking about it too much. He contemplated rolling around for a little while-enjoying the scratching of his back. Or, perhaps he should go back to Jini... she would be waking up-did he already contemplate that already. He twitched his nose, his mind not really on his envirnment so the stranger he had met only a few times with his father-was invisible to him. He blinked his pink eyes, stretching his legs out in front of him-attempting to awaken his hunger and pain and what ever damn feeling felt like tormenting him.
Hmm, he stopped for a moment. His fathers name meant Torment... didn't it-he recalled his father talking about it with his mom. Odd, that his father meant something that was totally unlike him. His tail twitched, as he brought the gloved paw of his up over his face and rubbed there for a bit.
It was certainly diffrent being on his own-no mother to watch him. No brother.... Aww. He sort of missed that brother of his-actually a lot. He shrugged. Perhaps he'd go back and try to talk to Ardhi... before he really left

Dumu saw that Tope had covered his fact, covered it meant that he could not see anything. That was good. His fur was blowing away from Tope so that meant he was down wind. He could not get his scent too easily. The red lion was prowling so he should not hear him unless he had made a movement that signaled his position. Good, this should be easier than chasing down an ol’ sickly prey. Dumu moved stealthily over the grass, closer to him until he was close enough to pounce. He hunkered down, toes kneading the dirt ready to get up and at the other male. He had not done this in a while, maybe once with Ewan, many times with Akiiki, but he could not remember how many times with Tope. Best start over.
He pounced with a mighty roar that made him fall upon the other male.
“GOTCHA!” he roared with a rather aggressive tone of voice. His silver eye flickered for a second, luckily, there was nothing to be seen. Nothing seen. No pain.

Tope was curious to whether or not Jini would be wanting to go too the firekin lands soon. This concerned him because everytime he wanted to ask more about her past, he got this cold clamped up feeling and couldn't continue. He had heard little of the firekin-but his father had a vague idea... and it wasn't good apparently. In truth, it frightened Tope so far that-he was frightened for Jini's safety and his own. Thent here was the fact that she had that leg of hers and the traveling would be an issue.
Oh spirits what should he do.
Tope just about jumped out of his skin's when he heard a roar and felt someone tackle him-OHGAWDFIREKINEATINGME. He paniced, his body spinning so that his back feet were ready to start beating the foreign creature-destroy it. His mind had been on those firekin at just the wrong moment, and if Tope hadn't recognized the stranger-he would have fought horribly. He stopped moving, his back legs braced in the air and ready-but they lowered as he smirked. Oh the relief. Dumu... You sneak.... damn-you frightened me to the skiesHe said, laying back his head to take a deep breath, he could feel beads of sweat crawling between the fur of his forehead.

"If you focused more, you would not have been tackled. Keep this up anymore and you might just get killed by something worse than me," he smirked and put a paw on his muzzle, his nose really. "A lion never puts down their guard, even if we are on top of the food chain, doesn't mean there aren't cannibals out there just waiting to chew on your bones."
That should have scared him enough to gain his attention for the meanwhile.
Dumu laughed and got off of him, turning to him with a sly smirk. He felt rather proud that he was able to get at Tope, scaring him. The expression was priceless! What he can't seem to figure out though was... why he started to panic like he did. Surely he knew that the Pride Lands had patrols and would not allow hostile beings into their lands so easily or close to it for that matter. Besides, Tope was suppose to be a strong guy, unlike Dumu, and he panicked over him? He must have been jittery or something... Either way, there was a reason to seek him out. Normally, the location ability was only used to find others. But to use it was such a pain in the rear! First off, he had to clear his mind and that was hard enough with the voices and images and the screams and the faces... well, one gets the idea. Then there is actually focusing all his thoughts into Tope's image and voice. Having a voice change due to age is hard to pin point. Not only that, the target has to think about Dumu in return! At least that is the easiest part. He just had to think of his name and presto!
"You know, you are one hard lion to find... you don't really think about me much do you?"

Tope sort of made this uncomfortable noise in his throat while Dumu touched his muzzle. He smirked and sat up, his back legs a bit stiff from being so tight. Man, he had really really started to freak out. He needed to stop thinking all these horrible thoughts... He really did. He looked to Dumu and made a face. Thanks... Though I prefere to keep away from others... but that hasn't been working very well lately... I seem to be attracting more than I want too He said, heaving himself up all the way and looked at his paws for a moment-he had extended his claws so much that they were sore too. Damn.
This was Dumu, the sort of adoptive brother figure-and yet Tope didn't feel it-even though he knew Umo did. He looked at Dumu and sort of gave him a once over... and wondered if he himself looked so grown up. He looked down, observing his paws again before he looked up. He gave a funny look, his eyebrows askew. Huh?Huh? Why were you trying to find me?
And -well- no offense but... i've been busy.... of late... haven't had much time to think of anything really... He said, looking absently into the distance before he looked back too Dumu. What does thinking about you have to do anything with? Isn't it obvious I have a becon-since everyone seems to be finding me... He said with a laugh, standing up and shaking off his rather scruffy self.
Thank the spirits Dumu wasn't what Tope thought he was... even though that made no sense... and Tope had no clue what those Fireskins looked like anyway...
Or if they existed... but he believed Jini.How have you been Dumu?

"Well, it seems like you being out is not good for you then. You are jumpy and paranoid, that may end up hurting you or others around you if you keep it up," he said rather sagely. He knew that from experience. Ever since he had that run in with "Okoth" the family has been in an upheaval. How such a being could exist and the nerve to inhabit his brother's body no less. Akiiki was too strong to give up too soon, he musthave been in his body... sleeping... he sighed and shook it off.
"Well, after what I had to go through, I think you should know what you should be doing, Swamp Boy," he scoffed. He was not really nice about it. He had to learn the hard truth that living without his family was dangerous and those he met weren't always going to be pleasant to him. "After what you put your father through, your family must be doing soooo well without you right now."
His silver eye flickered, bringing a smirk to his maw.
"Your brother, Ardhi's mad at you. Your father has taken my advice and caring for the family, but he still worries. And you should really be hunting for your love. Jini is gonna get hungry as soon as she wakes up," he shook his head, breaking eye contact. That pounce... that contact gave enough information no matter how fragmented it was. He almost got Jini's name wrong and called her Jani.
"Your father has no time to find you, Tope. He is a father, as I will be soon, though I may not be there for my cubs, I trust the female will be. But your father cares too deeply to leave your mother alone after the exile to come find you so he waits for you to come back. So how long are you going to make him wait, Tope?"
The sole purpose of finding him was to get him to come back home. Though most of what he said were assumtions from his visions and bits of lies... he hoped that Tope will fall into it and go back home.

Tope stared hard at Dumu, his pink eyes blank. He admitted that he was jumpy but-it was only because he had been so worried about Jini and his family. He looked away, his eyebrows furrowed.
When Dumu spoke and called him swamp boy, he curled his nose.Then the words came out of his mouth and Tope could have just thrown up.
Wh-wh-what? He stammered, looking back up at Dumu. Dumu must have spoken to his father or something-otherwise how'd he know. He perked up at the news of his father being-a father again. I-I I don't know... I do plan on going back. I do and plan on going back someday but... I don't know when He said, shifting uncomfortably. He didn't care what anyone said-he wasn't ready. He wasn't going to let someone guilt trip him into doing something he would regret more than he already did.
[/color-I can't go back right now... JIni... Jini has this pain inside her from a pride-called... the Firekin... they did something to her and she wants revenge and... I don't want her to go alone... And I don't even know what I am getting myself into... He said, shaking his head with a disgusted look on his face. He stood up and paced back and forth for a moment-needing to gain some of his composure.
I'm a coward and i know it and I don't need to be reminded... Especially from a family friend.He said turning away from Dumu and sitting with his head hanging. Must everyone remind him he was the worst son-a horrible learner and a horrible brother

Dumu shook his head for it seemed that Tope really did not know about his 'brother's' true person. His origins... but he did not plan to tell anyone about his father anymore. After what had happened with Akiiki... he was afraid that if anyone knew his father that it would put them in danger. Knowing Dumu was a danger. However, he trusts that those he knew were safe and will be.
"So you will return to them again, but when? When they have forgotten you? When you have cubs and family of your own? When, Tope?" he questioned, nagging and harshly examining his reasoning, trying to get this lion to draw his own reasons and answer. That way, he will understand himself. "When will you be ready?"
He sat back down and stared at him.
"The Firekin are a fierce pride that should not be trifled with, especially if Jini wants revenge. Chances are that she may get herself or worse. If you went with her, it may help, but it will become a burden if she starts to worry about you or you her. That would only put you both in danger, Tope," he spoke rather sagely. He knew that the Firekin were a bad group of lions. He knew that if one of them got hurt, the other would as well which left both of them vulnerable. Dumu learned that himself when Ewan was hurt during a hunt.
"I never called you that, Tope. You just chose this path to live. There is a fine line between a coward and someone who want to live their own life."

Tope didn't understand fully why Dumu really cared about whether or not Tope went home. After all, Dumu had a relationship mostly with his father-and Dumu was acting like he really cared if Tope went home... and it sort of hit Tope that-perhaps Dumu really did care that much for Umo. And that made Tope smile inside. Yes... I plan on returning... I don't know when-I don't know if... I'll have cubs... He said, looking away for a moment. Cubs... with Jini. He had never thought about it-let alone imagined he ever be a father... He wasn't ready and Jini wasn't hopefully. Man, imaging making his Father a Grandfather.
The words of the firekin frightened Tope but also angered him. These firekin were bad news and they had hurt Jini-in some way... he guessed it was something to do with her mother. He looked down for a moment, his mane falling into his face. I am calling myself a coward. He said, looking up with a defiant look-not towards Dumu but towards himself.
You've known my father all your life, right?

Dumu smiled, "Having cubs is a lot of responsibility, it's hard to say how many cubs the two of you will have or if you could even care for them all. That is why you have a family to help you, help them," He chuckled and looked back at him, he saw that he was slowly realizing things bit by bit, but Dumu could not give him the entire image. That is something he had to do himself.
"There is a line between cowardice and being safe, I think you would be better of staying here with her than letting her go there," he added as he sat himself down. Talking about all of this sort of made him feel like a father... was this how Athrun was? Talking to him and Aki about life's lessons and yelling at them for doing bad things? Was this... how Ewan was when he instructed him how to behave and hunt? In ways, Ewan was like a father, he would have been a great one too.
"Actually, no, I knew him for not too long now. Once or twice I have visited but trust me when I say that I know just as much as you."

Tope agreed and something inside him told him that-there was a chance that Jini would not survive a birth-like her mother had not survived. He sighed and looked down-wanting nothing more than to have a family again... and not a broken one... one that he had broke. What Dumu spoke was truths. And there was no doubt his mother and father would help with cubs-the big softies they were... He smiled-his mother was the best in the world and his father-he wished for no other-though there were times-sometimes-that Tope disliked him.
He nodded. She'd do it without me if I didn't go... and I am going to try my hardest to stop her-to make her see-that it is not worth it-to risk it all-for revengehe said, looking down to his paws. With Jini's hurt shoulder-she would never take on anyone-let alone firekin. Dumu.. do you know about the firekin?
