"As long as you know what you're doing..." The bay maned wolf muttered to himself. So much for that. He hadn't quite known what he was doing when he had wandered out on his own. He hadn't exactly counted on getting lost, but then again he hadn't counted on drifting off daydreaming either. It wasn't quite in his nature to daydream. For the most part, he was a rather down to earth creature, and the fact that he had drifted off while walking along amazed him.

What was he thinking of?

That he truly could not answer. Not only had he drifted off, he had paid absolutely no attention, and now he was stranded in the middle of somewhere with not so much as a joyful imagining to console himself with. How wonderful. Zan turned to look behind him. He had left behind a hardly visible trail that was soon disappearing as gentle winds swept through the tall savannah grasses. Soon, what little he could see of his own past route would be blown away by the wind. And he had never been good about using his nose.
