"Miss Mitsuko, you're going to get sick."

Aya's tone was blunt as she looked at the bronzed hair girl. They were seated in one of the booths of the brightly colored cafe, and on the table before them rested a huge bowl of ice cream, complete with little brownies, candies, among other cavity sweet items. The maid grimaced as she watched Mitsuko pick up her spoon, digging it into the the ice cream.

"But it's good!" Mitsuko protested, spooning some into her mouth. She swallowed, before she continued to talk, "And besides, it's not everyday I get a chance to visit one of these cute, small cafes." These 'commoner' cafes were so different from the ones she was used to going to. So much more brightly lit, and...happy feeling. She could hear the chatter of friends from the booths around her, and she emitted a sigh of longing. She should invite some friends over next time. Maybe Minori would come? Perhaps she could convince Takumi to come with Minori...And then there was Roka, Chiya...

"...You're making a mess, Miss Mitsuko." Her maid's voice snapped her out of her thoughts, and back into reality. Looking at her hand, she realized that he spoon, full of ice cream, had been poised halfway between her mouth, and the bowl. Having been distracted, the ice cream in her spoon seemed to get impatient with waiting with her, and was now dripping onto the table. Hastily, the girl grabbed some napkins before it could make a bigger mess. Shoving the spoon into her mouth, she panicked as she mopped up the mess as best she could.

From the side, Aya sighed. How unladylike.

Where to go, where to go.
She had plenty of time to burn, since nobody(worth playing with) was at home, and there basically wasn't anything to do.

So here she was, wandering through the commoner streets, searching for something to do. Her eyes scanned the place thoroughly. The arcade? Nah, that was only fun when she had Micchan with her. The shopping mall wasn't any good either, since she didn't have anything she needed in particular and didn't want to go shopping on a whim. It just wasn't worth spending her allowance on and carrying everything home(on foot). She shook her head and gave a mock sigh, complete with necessary hand gestures. This, of course, earned her a couple of stares.

her eyes finally found somewhere worth going to and her stomach gladly agreed- Her favourite dessert shop-no, cafe. It sold the best sweets in the area- parfait, cakes, shakes, ice cream... Her eyes glazed over just thinking about it. Right! She thought. Food it is! She swept her fringe from her face- it had gotten twice as messy since she cut it- and headed for the counter.

On the menu were dozens of selections, and Chiya couldn't decide which to choose. She stood there for a good while, a (rather obvious) thoughtful look on her face, before turning to the cashier with a large grin. "I'll have a chocolate parfait, apple pie and... hot chocolate, please. "

After receiving her order, with goodies in hand, she searched for a place to sit. Her eyes wandered over to a table where there was an amazing amount of sweets-ice cream, brownies, and more, a rather miffed lady, and a familiar face currently stuffing herself with said sweets...

"Mitsuko-chan, my I sit here?"

Having wiped up the mess, the girl placed the napkin on the table, wary of any future accidents. She pulled the spoon out from her mouth, sticking it back into the bowl of ice cream. It was then, she heart a familar voice. Eyes lighting up in recognition, the girl turned her head to face the person who had spoken to her.

"Wah, Chiya-chan!" The girl's whole face seemed to light up, as she grinned at the other girl. "Of course you can!" She slipped over to the side to allow Chiya some room, before grinning at her maid from across the table. "This is Chiya-chan, a friend of Ouran." She chirped.

Aya sighed. "I figured as much, Miss Mitsuko." Turning her attention onto Chiya, she gave a polite nod of her head and a smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you, miss. You're welcome to join us..." She paused to look at the sweets she was carrying, before sighing. What was with these girls and sweet things?

Spooning more ice cream into her mouth, Mitsuko smiled at Chiya cheerfully. "You can have some of my stuff, if you want~" She offered, nodding towards their table. Though she had bought quite a lot, even Mitsuko was unsure as to whether or not she'd be able to finish everything.

"Thanks!" She chirped to both the master and servant, and set her food on the table. "You know," She said with a laugh, "you really shouldn't speak with your mouth full of ice cream. Eh.. it doesn't matter. it because the sweet stuffs here are so good, right?" She laughed blithely again. She took a sip out of her drink, and then(with her taste buds appeased) looked over the spread in front of Mitsuko.

"There's... a lot here, huh?" She smiled. "I'm afraid I already have my own-it's not very good to eat too much in between meals, as much as all these sweets are..." She paused, took a bite out of the apple pie and swallowed. "H-e-a-v-e-n-l-y~" Ahh.. They really were. sure, she and her papa could make the same sort of stuff at home, but eating other people's work is totally different than enjoying your own.

"Ah-" She said, looking at the maid. "Why don't you ask Miss-" Eh. Did she mention her name? "The nice lady there to join in?"

"So... How nice meeting you in a place like this! Did you come here on a whim, too?"

"No problem." Smiling at Chiya, the girl emitted a soft giggle. "And sorry. I was just excited to see you, is all!" Then, she nodded enthusiastically, "Everything here is really good, yup! It's a lot cheaper here as well." It was below average price for a commoner, but for students who attended Ouran...well...

Eye twinkling, Mitsuko looked back to her bowl of ice cream. "I had my meal recently, actually, so this is all just dessert." A very, very big dessert. Then, she stifled a giggle as the other girl took a bite of her apple pie. "They really are, aren't they? If only I could bake..." She sighed.

Aya grimaced. "If you could, then that's all you'd have for breakfast, lunch, and dinner." She pointed out, before giving a little shake of her head. "Besides, you know we worry about you in the kitchen." With Mitsuko, whose clumsy level was set to high, a kitchen wasn't the safest place for her to be.

Turning to Chiya, Aya smiled politely. "My name is Aya, Miss...Chiya?" She frowned for a moment, certain that 'Chiya' was just a shortened nickname. "I'd certainly help Miss Mitsuko finish all these sweets...if not for the fact I'm not one for sweet things." She wrinkled her nose, staring down at the desserts on the table.

"You should try a little at least before you say you don't like it, Aya-chan!" Mitsuko protested, puffing out her cheeks before grinning at Chiya. "Yupyup! I always wanted to come to one of these cute little cafes!"

"All just dessert..?" Chihaya could not suppress her amusement. "Quite a bit, isn't it? And yeah, it really is a lot cheaper. "

To the maid she said, "Yup! Chihaya, actually, but Chiya will do just fine. I'd say..."She pondered for a moment before continuing. "ninety-percent of the people I know call me Chiya. Pleased to meet you, Miss Aya!" She gave a big smile at the lady. Upon hearing that she didn't like sweet stuffs, and spying the slight disdain at the amount of sweets Mitsuko was having for dessert shown on her face, she nodded. "I see. If I can finish my own share, I'll help you with your's." She said with a smile to her friend. A little more wouldn't hurt, after all. She was pretty much used to being gorged on sweet food.

"Baking's really easy!" She laughed. Maybe it was because she was brought up being taught how to make desserts. After all, she couldn't cook for nuts. It was a mystery, her father once said. "And it's really fun! I can teach you one day, if you like."

Mitsuko could only nod, as she had stuffed more ice cream into her mouth, finishing off the bowl and swallowing. Sheepishly, she picked up a brownie, nibbling at it. "I think I freaked out the people working here when I ordered so much stuff..." She admitted, Aya nodding from across the table. It wasn't everyday they had a rich student come in a order this many desserts, after all.

Ah, Chihaya. So that was this girl's full first name. Nodding politely, Aya offered a small smile, "If you're more comfortable with Miss Chiya, then I'll call you that." She then sighed as Mitsuko smiled at Chiya. "Mmkay, Chiya-chan! Looking at everything I ordered now, even I don't think I can finish it anymore." She admitted, before biting into the brownie she was still holding.

Waiting until her mouth was empty, Mitsuko smiled, before making a face. "I'd love for you to teach me Chiya-chan! I'm just worried that...I'll make a mess, is all." Across the table, Aya hid a smile, "And", the maid continued, "The Takara family staff is worried that she'll hurt herself. I'm sure you've witnessed Mitsuko's little trips and falls before?"

Chihaya laughed. "I'd love to have seen that!" She could only imagine the faces of the cashier seeing a petite girl like Mitsuko order such a large selection of food. As DESSERT, no less. No, wait.. She corrected herself. No way they could've known that... scratch the last sentence. But still It would've been so rich! Their expressions.

"Oh...yeah..." She remembered how careless Mitsuko was, and as the mental picture of Mitsuko baking came into mind. "You'd be quite the snowman!" She giggled. "...no offence." Chihaya added, raising both hands in defense. "Oh yes, but there isn't anything to hurt yourself with in baking, Miss Aya. Unlike the art of cooking..which I fail at... there are much less things you can hurt yourself with...But then with Mitsuko-chan..." She paused. "It's possible." Laughter. She couldn't help it. Her friend's carelessness was amazing, in a cute sort of way.

"But don't you think that trait of hers is cute, Miss Aya?" She grinned.

Despite herself, Aya smiled, covering her mouth to stifle a laugh. "To be honest, it was quite amusing. I've never seen so many people gape at Miss Mitsuko like that. I though I was going to die of embarassment, though Miss Mitsuko seemed completely fine." Laughing, she shook her head. Sometimes she couldn't help but wonder what kind of things phased Mitsuko. She never seemed to be embarassed by anything.

Mitsuko giggled as Chiya spoke, shaking her head quickly as the other girl rose her hands in defense. "Don't worry 'bout it! I -would- become a snowman, wouldn't I?" She paused, to grin. "Being a snowman wouldn't be too bad when Christmas time comes around..." She seemed to really consider it, while her maid sighed and turned her attention back to Chiya. "Well, Miss Chiya, it's true that you can't hurt yourself as much as you can when you're cooking but..." She nodded her head as Chiya laughed, fighting a grin of her own, "Mitsuko can make any situation bad."

Looking thoughtful, the maid made a face, "Well, cute in a way I suppose, but after you've known her ever since she was a child and tumbling down stairs every morning..."

Is it because she's ignorant or nonchalant, I wonder...She thought silently. Chihaya decided it was the former. Her friend was way too innocent for it to be anything else. Mitsuko's reply was super cute, even! It simply proved her previous statement absolutely correct. The girl was so cheerful it was hard for her to take offense or be affected much by anything. But that was what made her so absolutely likable. In the midst of the thoughts, she realised she was smiling herself silly. Which, to everyone else, seemed like it was for no reason at all. I must look like an idiot, She thought, but paid no heed. She was past feeling embarassment over her actions. And her reason was the latter of the two she had come up with earlier.

"That bad?" She said, to Aya. "Are you serious? Every morning?" It was slightly unbelievable for a grown girl of 15-going-on-to-16 to be tumbling down the stairs at the start of every DAY. Even if it were Mitsuko.

Beaming cheerfully, Mitsuko picked up a cookie from a plate, nibbling on it while she turned to look at Chihaya. She tilted her head a little when she noticed her friend smiling, but only grinned and reached out to pat her friend on her head. "Chiya-chan is so cute and pretty, especially when she smiles!" The girl chirped. From across the table, Aya sighed, rubbing at her forehead. This wasn't how she imagined Ouran students would act, coming from rather weathy families and al -

"Mmf?" Aya blinked in surprise as her thoughts were cut off by Mitsuko, who had shoved a cookie into her maid's mouth. Staring at the girl with a frown, she got a smile back in reply. "You should eat some too, Aya-chan! The cookies aren't -that- sweet, but they're tasty!"

Attempting to sigh - it was hard when you had a cookie in your mouth - Aya took a small bite of it, chewing and swallowing before she answered Chihaya. "Well, it used to be every morning. Lately it's only once a week or so, but it still happens. And if it's not falling down the stairs, it's something else."
