The battlefield was randomly chosen:
THE GRASS FIELD!
The breeze from the stadium air conditioners rustled the flat grassland arena, sending small clouds of harmless pollen into the air. The land is completely flat, making manuverability easy to those build to walk on land.

Evelyne grinned, looking at the field. Nice, perfect for practice! She just hoped Charm would be nice to the other trainer. She wasn't too worried, he was a serious pokemon, and she already asked him to battle in this practice just like he'd always would.
"Okay, Ayoka. Remember, this is just a practice. Don't get angry if you lose, this is to get stronger!"
The skitty made a face that looked strangely like someone rolling their eyes, then advanced on the field, her nose moving like a rabbit's at the pleasant grass smell.

Kailana stepped out onto the soft grass, her steel boots flattening the blades down with a crisp crunch. Her eyes shifted from the trainer who had lent her pokémon to an unknown woman across the field, to the pokéball clutched in her hand. "...Let's see what this pidgeotto can do.." She hurled the ball into the air, watching as the red beam of light shot out the form of Charm, the trainer's pidgeotto.
Kailana shouted to the trainer, "Don't think I'll go easy on you!" She looked back to the pidgeotto, "And I don't take well to defiance.."

She took the initiative, eager to make the first battle move as she thurst her arm into the air, her half skirt following her in the breeze, "Charm, sand-attack, now!"
Charm responded quickly, taking off towards the skitty and hurling a blast of sand its way.

Ayoka was engulfed in the dust cloud at once. Evelyne, knowing she would get sand in her eyes, thought quickly and said, as the cloud dissiped a little:"Ayoka, put him to sleep!" Evelyne figured that if Ayoka managed to get Charm to sleep, she'd be alright by the time he'd wake up.
Still hard to see in the sand cloud, Ayoka let out a few soft but clear notes. Evelyne hoped it'd be enough.

She smirked as the torrent of sand hurled itself at the skitty, completely emercing it within a dusty cloud. The soundwaves that floated from the skitty quickly caught her eye, "Block it."
The pidgeotto quickly covered itself with its wings, deflecting the sound waves from the sing attack.
Again Kailana reacted quickly, "Charm, use quick attack!" she commanded, hoping the bird would listen to her orders.
Charm flapped higher into the sky before taking a nose dive and hurling his entire body towards the cloudy patch of field.

Evelyne could see Charm hesitated about half a second before he attacked Ayoka. "Dodge and double-slap, Ayoka!" Shouted Evelyne, confident that her skitty would be able to dodge.
Ayoka jumped out of the way at the last second, then rotated quickly with the intention of hitting Charm with her tail a couple of time. That is, if he didn't manage to fly out of the way before it could happen...

She silently cursed under her breath as the tail of the skitty made contact with her borrowed pokémon. She muttered loudly enough for ther bird to hear, "...Twister."
Charm flapped back away from Ayoka, pulling back his wings entirely before slamming them together furiously, creating a visible twister on course, picking up large amounts of dust and gritty sand.
700/800 HP

Ayoka cried out as she was trapped in the twister for a few seconds before it threw her back on the ground and disapeared. Evelyne was impressed by the force of it, especially since they hadn't used it in battle yet. Feeling proud of her pidgeotto but at the same time not wanting to lose, she replied with a smirk:"Copycat!"
Ayoka has got up already, and though she seemed to wobble a little, she opened her mouth with a intense look of concentration on her face. Soon a ball of light appeared, and another twister, apparently coming out from it, took shape and was hurled toward Charm.

The pidgeotto attepted to climb higher to escape the copied move but was too late and was soon caught in the spiral.
Her red left eye watched as the wind halted, commanding the pokémon further, "Gust!"
Charm shook his head to regain focus, flapping his powerful wings furiously towards his teammate.

The force of the gust threw Ayoka in the air and when she dropped on the ground again she probably ate some grass. Shaking her head to force out the dizziness, she quickly assumed her fighting stance.
"Try singing again!" said Evelyne, hoping they'd manage a few free hits on Charm that way.
Ayoka instantly opened her mouth to sing a few notes, as her trainer had her eyes fixed on her other pokemon to see if he was getting sleepy.

Kailana saw that Ayoka was weakening already, and her second sing attempt was just as weak as the first. "Quick attack!" she commanded harshly, hoping to gain an edge with the attack if it made contact this time.
The pidgeotto barrel rolled through the skitty's sound waves, hurling towards her with all his force.

Ayoka was still attempting to send soundwaves toward her teammate as he was about to make contact but it was useless, Charm was too focused and fast and sent her flying again. Falling back on her four legs this time, she started running almost at once. "Jump and double-slap!" said Evelyne, when she saw this. Ayoka jumped and started to turn around. She only had to have jumped high enough now...

Again she snickered as she watched Ayoka miss Charm by a large margin, "Twister, now! Send that skitty back down to the Earth," she smirked wildly now, seeing her victory in sight as her heart raced towards the finish.
Charm quickly turned around by performing a summersault in mid-air, conjuring up another storm of wind to hopefully send his teammate back down to the ground.
