Yeah one of my friends read it and said the same thing. I was going to read it, but apparently it's part of English 30-1.....so I'm going to just read it then.
Anyways, she said that it was written as if it were for a child. Don't know if it's true or not. Was there anything you liked about it though?
EDIT: lol turn out I have to read it for my english class. I just don't like how it jumps from place to place so often. Some of the ideas are interesting too.

a lot of the book it about things that are soo not important! like there is one part where Pi is talkin about how he grew up in a zoo and then the next paragraph is in this weird font and the person is talking about how he cant handle spicey food. and it was pretty gross too. the author went into detail about how a hyena ripped a zebras leg off and the zebra was still alive and the hyena was eating him from the inside out. and there were other things that were gross!

I liked it. One of my favorites. It was really different from other things I've read. At first, it does drag a little, but after awhile it sucked me in and I couldn't put it down. It was so deep and made me think. I love the connection between Pi and Richard Parker. The details of Pi's survival had me wondering if this had actually happened to Yann Martel himself. All in all, it's a good book.
