He crouched, moving silently through the grass.
No, he lacked a target. However, a target might show up soon enough, and it'd do him no good if he scared it off before it had a chanse of appearing, and him catching it. But sooon enough he'd find something, and that something would see that cheetah, although relatively weak to other cats..
Were deadly.
He was fast and cunning and skilled. He was a good hunter. He could catch something. Problem was.. He was not entirely hungry. Just a little bit. However, movement caught his eyes, and he prepared himself.

A pup materialised almost out of nowehere, then squeaked in surprise as he found himself nose to nose with a cheetah. "HOLYWOWWHATAREYOU? " He exclamed lowdly, before anything else. See.. Simba was loud. Yes, very loud.
He was sooon enough scampering around the cheetah, as if to check out everything. "You have a funny tail! Wowwhatisthatissomethingwrongwithyourclaws? Are you a sick lion? "

What the..?
The cheetah stepped beck in surprise, then in circules as the pup ran around. Damn! He'd gona and landed himself something that wouldn't taste good-- and it was a pup! He hated kids. Well.. Not hated them but he didn't like them much. He couldn't do anything with them.
"Calm down! " He demanded, tumbling slightly and landing on his haunches, ears black and clearly not pleased. He lashed his tail irritable. This one was a jackal, to put the cherry on top. And.. he didn't trust those colors. Looked too.. familiar, yes. Too familiar.
"I'm a cheetah. What are you? " He ased that as a test. If the pup answered lion..

He blinked as the creature ordered him to calm down, and seemed slightly taken aback by it. He felt like it was almost the same as telling him to shut up-- and he didn't like being told that. However, he took in consideration the creatures size. It was even bigger than mum.
"Wooowcheetah. " He perked his ears, sitting up now to look at the lean creature. "I'm a lion! and I know wacher gonna say, I don't look like one. Well, I am! " He grinend smugly, as if what he'd just said was something incredibly unbelievable.

Damn. Makani was just.. too smart, wasn't he. He held back a say, and folded his ears back in annoyance. "Actually.. " He said casually, moving to pace around the jackal.
"I think you may be a jackal. Lately some folks have ran aroundmessing with young kid's minds like yours. " Yes, make it sound like its someone else's fault. Maybe he wouldn't have an outburst like the female he'd met.

Simba looked duvious at the first word. Actually.. He kind of knew where that was comming from. However, Simba was ready. "Nope, actually! " He said, as the cheetah had barely finished what he'd said.
"I'm a lion, annere's nuffin' you can say ta change dat! Issin my bloood! " He nodded, wagging his little tail and doing his best to keep his tempted. "My mom is a lion. And my granpa and my gramma and my uncles and aunts! " He nodded smartly, quietly daring the cheetah to disagree.

Yep. He was right. Again. Daamn he hated being right sometimes. "Um.. Well, since you're a lion.. Retract your claws. " He tail, curling his tail around his paws and rolling his shoulders. Damn, Makani was in for one, wasn't he?
However, this was a pup. It might see some sensse. Or lcing to its belief childishly.

Simba was dumbfound. The 'cheetah' surely didn't seem to believe him. He frowned, and look daringly up at the creature. "Fine! Look! " He looked at his front paws inannoyance, and wiggled his toes, and attempted to mess with his claws.
But it wouldn't work. He tried and tried again, but it failed. "Uh. I'm only a cub. So I dunno how to do those stuff yet. " He said, creating an excuse for this lack of ability.

"Understandable. Only.. if you don't know how to mess with them, how did you get them out in the first place? i'm confused. " No, I am not confused. you're just an idiotic little pup who doesn't know wrong you are. Perhaps he was being a bit mean to the poor pup. But he couldn't just let it run around thinking it was a lion.
"Maybe you're not a lion. " He said, easly going into the 'I'm surprised by this!' look, if only to make the pup feel less bad in case he bought it.

His eyes widened. How. how could this guy have a point? And why couldn't he just believe him?! "Look, mister. " He said, pulling off the I'm-angry-but-I'll-be-patient-with-you voice rather well.
"I'm a different type of lion. You only find them in the pridelands, ok? We're not veery common, but we exist! Its just our tails are bushier and we can't move our claws. " He said, furrowing his brows. Was that -so- hard to understand?

Wow. A pup less than half the height of his leg was pulling off the mean voice. He was teeeerrifieeeed! Please. He could whack this kid into tomorrow. But Makani wasn't cruel, no.
"Did you ever meet a jackal, pup? " He sighed, folding his ears back. "I've met many. And if I found one right now, and put it right next to you.. you'd look exactly the same. " He snorted, though kept his voice calm and collected. He was patient.

He gaped for a moment. No. He'd never seen a jackal. He didn't know what a jackal was like, hee didn't know how similar he was to a jackal, no. But.. He wouldn't let this cheetah turn him into a jackal. He was a lion!
"Well, can you see our insides? " He hissed in annoyance, laying his ears at the cheetah. "Because we're very different! "

"Actually, I can. " He muttered to himself. But he wouldn't do that, it was too morbid and cruel to do to the pup, especially seeing as, as dumb as this conversation had been, it was odd to do stuff like that to a creature he'd talked to, or at least, one he didn't hate. The pup was dumb, but Makani didn't hate it.
"No, you're more alike than you think. And if you're not a jackal, than what is? " He demanded, lying down to be in eyelevelw ith the pup.

He frowned. Wasn't that obvious? "Duuh. Something thats not me. " Simba stuck his tongue out at the cheetah, hackles rising in annoyance. but his hackles were short still, so.. well, it didn't show much just yet. Just on his tail.
"And even if I am a jackal, which I'm not, I'm a lion at heart! "

In the mood to pester the pup now, Makani grinned. He could easly turn this into a racist comment. "OH. so you're saying lions are better than jackals? " He inquired, perking his ears quirkily.
"So, do you think lions are better than cheetah? Than wild dogs? Jackals, hyenas, leopards too? " He sneered in mock annoyance, as if scolding the pup. He sighed, though, he didn't find that as fun a he might have thought. "Look. Reason I'm bugging you, " He began, folding his ears slightly. "Is because you obviously can't be happy with what you are. So when reality -does- hit you, it won't be pretty. Sorry for trying to make your life easier. " He glanced away. Not like he really cared what'd happen after this meeting, he did, however, care about what happened in the meeting, and during the meeting some things may be true.
