All my life I had been taught that if I just said those 5 words than any demon, or evil presence would have to leave immediatly. But it didn't work for me.
Last year about late November/ early December I was on the phone with my boyfriend [[At the time.]] one night when he was possessed. The possession lasted for 4 hours; From 10pm-2am. As soon as I realized what was going on and I got over my cries of help long enough, I said those words. And the Demon just laughed. I only got it 'out' By reading the Bible until my boyfriend told me he heard the demon screaming in pain. Of coarse, the same thing happened 2 nights later.
So, why didn't the demon leave when it was commanded out? How come using Jesus' name didn't send him out?

So, why didn't the demon leave when it was commanded out? How come using Jesus' name didn't send him out? Sometimes it takes more. I've never just taken that simple step, though, myself. Whenever delivering someone, I've always gone off in tongue and it usually lasts at LEAST half an hour. Some are stronger, bigger, than others. Whenever I'm under attack myself, I say those 5 words and it usually works. Although, I've had those situations where I had to go and pray like crazy for a bit. The enemy knows our week spots. He knew that you were taught that all your life and knew eventually you were gonna come to a point where you'd say that, he was waiting. Since he can't read your mind or heart, after you said that, he was expecting you to freak out and just stop trying. Except you went and took an extra step that he apparently wasn't ready for. There is a verse in Matthew that, if you have the NIV, it omitts it for some stupid reason. It's an important verse. But it talks about how some didn't respond when the disciples said In Jesus name. Jesus told them that that kind of demon came out with prayer and fasting.

Thank-you for that. I had just been thinking about those nights alot lately, and I had had some unanswered questions. But I've been talking to my youth pastor about it and he answered just about everything I needed. So, now I know how to be prepared for next time. If there will be a next time...

Either that or you scared him off. Either I'm not important enough to be spiritually attacked (whew) or attacks for me don't come in a physical form. Usually it's when I'm up late, and I'm walking up stairs, and I hear something. I look back and tell myself it's nothing, then spend the rest of the time mocking the devil like "Oh wow, an evil laugh. What's next, a floorboard creaking?". IT's usually not that bad. I just laugh it off.

Lavender, mimosa, holy thistle, salt and rosemary. They work really well for exorcisms. Not all demons fear Jesus Christ. I mean, I heard of a girl who accidentally stirred up Azi Dahak (Zoroastrian demon) and when her mother tried to have it exorcised by a member of the clergy, she spat at them, laughed and said something along the lines of "There are those among our number who witnessed the birth of time, who saw the stars kindle, who watched your world coalesce and observed as your kind rose to rule it" and that they were far older than Jesus Christ and Christianity and so on and so forth and then the girl bit her own tongue off and suffocated on her own blood.
Okay, gruesome...

Okay, gruesome... Ah, yes, I know that certain oils realy work. After all that had happened, A lady randomly approached me at a worship service and said all this stuff about me, even mentioning that I was dealing with some serious warfar. I told her to stop watching me through my bedroom window. XD But she gave me some oil. It smells so nice, and she told me demon's can't get near the stuff. It was one of the oils given to Jesus at birth. The 'F' one. I can't spell it, I can barely even say it. [[No good with pronounciation.]] I would still have it only, It dissapeared.. Like, literallly. I had it sitting on my bedside table beside me on night. Next morning, the bottle was still there, same place, but almost every drop of oil was missing from it. I asked all my family and they said they didn't touch it. :/ And What the demon was saying to me was pretty bad. The demon kept threatening to have My boyfriend cut his leg off with a little razor. One no bigger than a box cutter. That demon kept telling me that He was far greater than God and that he'd drag me and my boyfriend down to hell with him on a silver platter. ]:

The more serious the attack is, the more serious threat you are to the devil. I would consider a serious attack a compliment to my faith. Twisting your doorknob? The door doesn't actually open, so I would consider that a good sign. Breathing under my bed? If your room is like mine, there isn't room for a cricket to fit under my bed, much less a demon. Most likely it's suffocating. See? You just make light of the whole situation, twisting the scary stuff into funny stuff, and it works. Kind of like the "rediculous" (or however you say it) in Harry Potter. You make the boggart into something funny.

Iron and silver can be used to ward off demonic and other magical or spiritual influence because they're naturally magic-resistant, which is why horseshoes are considered lucky: they're made of iron. No demon would carry you off on a silver platter. Maybe it wasn't your usual demon? A fallen angel, maybe...? But there's hardly anything that can protect against a fallen angel, certainly not purifying oils...

Eep. That's frightning! eek
It always seems to work for me if I ever find myself being tempted to steal or go back to my drug habits. But it does sometimes take more, or sometimes I just say it over and over again untill the temptation is completely gone.
I hope your boyfriend is okay. sad

CaptianIndianaSolo Scary. I didn't even know that demons can posess people nowadays. I thought that it only happened when Jesus was alive waaay back when... I once saw something on tv about a house that was possesed by a demon. The demon would physically hurt people in the family with pinches or punches from a seemingly disembodied hand. The walls would literally bleed from the ceiling down, objects were thrown about, and voices were heard. There had been several families moving in and out of the house since it had been built, but none stayed longer than a year.
Kinda spooky, eh?
