The sun was high and bright in the clear afternoon sky in the Pridelands, and Wahabu was feeling considerably happier than he had in a while. Since his meeting with K'A, he'd had quite a bit to think about and even seemed to be recovering a bit. He was still having some sleep troubles, but for once he'd managed to get a decently length sleep the previous night. It was hard to tell if he'd figured out how to fix it or if his body had finally forced it upon him, but he was in a decent mood because of it. So, once again, he'd decided to go off and try to find Kubwa to talk to him- if he got that off his mind, perhaps he'd feel even better. Habu was determined to sort everything out that was worrying him, but when he failed to find Kubwa easily he chose to go for a little walk and think about what else he could do..

Currently, Roho couldn't claim to being happier than Wahabu was. The normally rather chipper and cheerful male was feeling a bit gloomy, and even though the circumstances of his situation were beyond his control, he couldn't help but feel it was all somehow his fault. And knowing that he may well have lost the friend he felt closest to certainly didn't help the matter... even if they shouldn't really have been friends, considering how they had met. Roho couldn't help that it felt somehow... natural to like Azima once the other male stopped being mean. And now the friendship could well have disappeared like dust on the wind, and all because Azima had wanted to change the rules of their relationship a bit. And even though Azima had been the one to want things to be different, Roho still felt as though he was somehow to blame for the mess.
The large male let out a long, depressing sigh, his tail dragging across the ground as he meandered slowly through the grass, paying little heed to his direction, or to who was nearby. His head hung low, his ears lowered into the thick cream of his mane, and there was a slight frown on his face as he tried his hardest to think up a solution to his problem that would make Azima want to be his friend again. But since he'd been thinking basically all morning, poor Roho looked like the epitome of abject misery.

While Habu had not been to alert in recent times, today was an exception however seeing as he had managed to get some sleep before being forced to get himself up. He was on the look out for Kubwa, as he often had been, but his mind wandered to if Intombi would suddenly appear like that time- or if perhaps another random family member would come around, though he was a little less hopeful about that.
The figure he did catch sight of surprised him, for it was not someone who looked like he could be related to him (not closely, anyway)- but most surprising was how very sad he looked.
Partly curious, mostly worried, Habu decided to go and see if there was any way he could help him. After a few seconds hesitation, he dared to walk closer and call out, "Hello there."

As he heard a male voice call out to him, he thought briefly that it just might have been Azima, and his head shot up accordingly. But seeing Habu dashed those hopes; this new male couldn't have looked any more different from his friend. And besides... if that greeting had been from Azima, he would have found himself pounced already. Azima never just said 'hello' like everyone else. That playfulness was something Roho had always liked about the red and black male.
The large, golden male managed to bring a small, weak smile to his face and stopped his slow and directionless weaving through the grass. "Oh... hello." His greeting was sincere and friendly, like it always was, but it lacked the conviction of the cheerful. He couldn't have mustered up even half of it for anything or anyone in the world today.

Habu stopped a couple feet away from the sad stranger, and tilted his head. Something was certainly wrong, he sounded almost cheerful but hardly looked it, and it was just barely a cheerful tone anyway. It almost made Habu regret making the poor lion make such an effort.
"Are you all right?" he asked worriedly, "You look a bit.. down."

At Habu's question, Roho briefly considered explaining his situation to the stranger. It was eating his mind alive, or so it seemed to him, and he needed to unload. But when he looked at Habu, he could see the other male was looking happy today, certainly happier than Roho himself was feeling, and he didn't want to burden anyone else and bring them down to his level of depression.
Shaking his head slowly, obviusly lying just with this simple action, the large male replied softly, "Oh... no. I'm all right, really. Thanks for asking, though." Always polite and courteous, even when feeling as low as he did now; typical, usually-charming Roho.

Habu watched Roho with concern, and it was not hard to see the consideration that went into answering the question- however brief. The slow nod confirmed whatever suspicion Habu may have gotten from the brief hesitation. The yellow lion shook his head in return.
"I don't believe you," he said, "but I understand not wanting to tell a complete stranger. My name is Wahabu, what is your name?"

Instead of being defensive that his lie had been caught, like some lions would have been, Roho simply smiled - though it was weak and looked like it cost him a lot of effort to do. Wahabu was obviously a very considerate lion, just like he was, to be concerned about a stranger's problems. It was all the more reason not to load his miseries on the other male. Roho knew what it was like to suddenly feel depressed when you were usually so happy.
Again, he shook his head. "It's all right. You don't need to worry about it." He managed that smile again. "I'm Roho. It's nice to meet you."

Habu's blue and red eyes didn't leave the other lion, it was hard to ignore that he seemed so down about something. It was hard to be social when one wasn't in a good mood, but Roho was doing a decent job of it. Habu took this as a sign that Roho was usually much more cheerful than he was right now.
"It's nice to meet you Roho," he replied with a genuine and encouraging smile, "I don't mind listening, if you need someone to talk to. It's too nice a day to be so down."
Habu didn't really know what else he could offer Roho, younger lions were so much easier to cheer up because they seemed much more inclined to play games or something. There was no way of knowing that much about Roho without asking.
"I don't know if I've seen you around before, have you always lived here?" he asked, trying to make conversation so Roho could avoid talking about his troubles if he wished.

He did want to talk to someone, to get the load off his shoulders and maybe be given some advice about how to fix the situation, but... he just couldn't bring himself to do it so easily. His story was quite a bummer (in his opinion, at least, having nothing of real sadness happen in his life since the death of his mother), and he didn't want to make anyone else mopey. "No, really... It's all right. I don't want to spoil anyone else's day."
At the question, he blinked, then nodded his head. "Yes. Yes, I have. Ever since I was a cub." Looking more closely at Habu, he surmised that the other male didn't have what were loosely referred to as the 'traditional' colours of the Pridelands, the goldy fur that he himself had. "Have you? The lands are so big here, with so many lions, it's hard, I guess, to meet everyone..."

Habu smiled at Roho, but he wasn't about to force him to talk if he didn't want to. Perhaps some light conversation would be enough to help cheer him up, it never hurt to get your mind off your troubles after all. When Roho said he'd lived here ever since he was a cub, Habu noticed he was being looked over.
"Yes, I was born here," Habu said brightly, "I'd say so, it'd be really hard to even know some just by looks. And then there are times you keep running into someone." He chuckled. Sometimes you just never met someone, other times you kept running into them. It must have something to do with knowing who they were and being able to pick them out easier.

He couldn't say he wasn't relieved when Habu apparently decided to grant his wish and not speak about his woes any more. It was bad enough he had upset himself and Azima both with his blundering and stupidity; he didn't need to dampen anyone else's spirits and add to his guilt. If he hadn't been dumb enough to not pick up on the signs, he might have realised how Azima felt before he was told and could have handled his reactions better. He probably could have been more tactful. He was just such an idiot, and he didn't really deserve to unload his burden.
Roho nodded his head in agreement, because while it seemed there were too many members not to meet lots of them... that just wasn't the case. "Yeah... I always find that there just isn't anyone wherever I wander on my days. I don't run into others as much as you'd think I would." He tilted his head slightly. "If you don't mind my asking... who are your parents? I might know them if not you. My father is Mahiri, but my mother Bakhti passed away a long time ago, when I was very young. I don't think you'd know her."

"It's odd that sometimes the places you go have the fewest lions there, but I suppose with so many lions around you develop more of an interest in finding those places so you don't feel crowded all the time," Habu suggested brightly, more than willing to put forward his opinion. He was always more than happy to make friends, but being smothered by massive amounts of pridemates wasn't good. Most of the lions he saw now were his family, both in and out of the pride (which was odd).
"I don't know either of them, no," he said thoughtfully, realizing that Roho did look somewhat familiar even if he couldn't place why, "My father is Kizamaji, and my mother is Mtima'safi, but she left some time ago."
Habu was caught between trying to figure out the familiarity and wondering if Roho was someone who'd met his mother before. It'd be interesting if he had, but unlikely since he had to ask. Habu was the spitting image of his mother, after all.

The large male shrugged his shoulders slowly, managing a feeble smile. "I don't know... I think I'd like to be crowded every day. I like being with others. I don't like being by myself." But saying that just reminded him of Azima, and what little show of happiness he'd given faded away as he wilted like a flower, his shoulders sagging. "And I don't like losing friends."
Roho shook his head slightly. "I don't know your parents, either. I guess that's not it. I only asked... because everyone tells me I look identical to my mother. Same colour fur, same markings," he said quietly, gesturing to his forehead with a lax paw. "I just remember she had pretty blue eyes instead of brown. It's one of the only things I do remember about her."
After a slight pause, he added, "The name Mtima'safi is vaguely familiar to me, though." He shook his head in slight bewilderment. "But why, I couldn't say."

When Roho admitted to not liking being alone, suddenly Habu had a feeling he'd found some insight as to why the poor guy looked so sad. Since his mother had left and everything, Habu was quite used to being on his own though he'd always enjoyed company. His father was out a lot, but he got quite a few visits from his young aunt and uncle. He seemed short supplied on friends that stuck around, though.
"I don't think anyone likes losing friends," Habu said, adding with a slight sad tone, "I can't seem to keep track of mine."
When Roho said he looked identical to his mother, Habu looked him up and down and smiled again. He supposed that Roho looked much more like his mother than Habu looked like his, but it was perhaps something they had in common. Even if Habu was similar to a lesser degree.
"I look a lot like my mother, but not identical," Habu said conversationally, "She was the same yellow, had one blue eye, one gold eye.. brown that faded to yellow on her head and tail.. she didn't have blue, though. She has purple markings.."
