Natalie had been fairly busy lately, but she'd gotten a call here and there from various Guardians asking if she was still making clothing, like she once had for Haki and Gavin. And now she finally had the time for it. She called back one of the people she had taken down the number for - a woman named Kainda - leaving a message that yes, she was still doing custom clothing, and that she would be home for the next weekend all day long, and to stop by when she had the time.
Natalie was now playing with Ophiera. Michael was at work, and Natalie was taking a break from the theatre costumes she was working on to play a clapping game with her daughter. Of course, Ophiera turned it into a dancing game, and soon they were jumping around the living room, laughing.

"I don't see why I need extra clothes? I have enough right now." Adair complained. Kainda found he did that alot when they went places, complained. It wasn'te ven that he had a real problem with anything, he just didn't like to do thing that weren't his idea in the first place. Especially if he was doing something else when he first started. So now they were walking to the apartment of a Natalie to try and see if she could make clothes for Adair, their last shopping adventure did not go well.
"Yes you do. Your cape is already a mess again and I'm not doing laundry every night. So you need a few more clothes. Not a lot, besides, she has an Ames too, you guys can play. It's a little girl." Kainda added, remembering how Adair charmed and was charmed by little Elisa, though the general memory around Elisa was bad she didn't blame the girl for them both running off.
"She does?" Adair asked quickly, then smiled. He liked making new friends, especially the girls. Holden was great and his very best of friends of course, but there was something especially nice about being friends with girls.

By the time Kainda buzzed Natalie's apartment, Natalie and Ophiera were draped similarly (Ophiera enjoyed mimicking) on the couch, tired out. Natalie pulled herself up, padding over on bare feet to buzz open the front door. She opened the door to her apartment, waiting.
Ophiera came over a few moments later, toddling over and wrapping her arms around her mother's leg. She was, physically, around maybe five years old, but liked acting like she was younger. It may have had to do with not being able to speak... babies couldn't speak, either, so she associated with them. Natalie hoped she could break that habit.
"Come on up!" she called out, stroking Ophiera's now-frazzled curves.

"Now be nice, behave yourself and NO running off." Kainda groweled as she tugged Adair up the stairs. Adair snareled a little, pounting over that. It was a one time thing. It wasn't like he was going to do it again. Especially now that he knew it was bad and that Kainda would give him so much greif over it. It wasn't even like they went anywhere dangerous.
"I know, I know!" Adair grumbbled as they finally reached the front door. Kainda smiled as she saw the woman who could hopefully solve their clothes problems. someone who Kainda could return too, and most of all, someone who was willing to work cheap, as Kainda didn't have much money left.
"Hi, I'm Kainda, we spoke on the phone. This here is Adair," Kainda placed her hand on Adair's head, feeling the mix of hair and feathers as she smiled politely. Adair was pouting a bit still as he looked over the two girls, eyes landing on the girl around his age.
"Hi." he said after a minute, waving his clawed hand.

Natalie nodded. "Natalie- though you, ah, probably know that - and this is Ophiera." She held out her hand. Ophiera waved, and was silent. It might have come off as shyness... if she hadn't gone directly up to Adair and taken hold of his clawed hand, looking at it and turning it this way and that. Then she smiled broadly at him, nodding. She liked it!
"Ophiera's mute," Natalie supplied, after watching the exchange. "Ah, before we get to talking about clothing - can I make you guys anything to eat?"
Ophiera raised her hand, waving it around.

"What's mute?" Adair asked quickly, looking up between the two women then again and Ophiera. She at least seemed friendly, even though she wasn't talking He grined as she smiled at his hand. So far everyone seemed to like his claws and wings, which he enjoyed too.
"It means she can't talk. Kinda like Holden only she dosen't say anything at all." Kainda tried to explain, a bit surpised, she never met a mute before, they seemed pretty rare. Holden was more quiet by choice, not because he had too.
"Why?" Adair asked, looking up to Kainda again, since she explained last time, still confrused.
"She was just born that way." Kainda geussed, glancing to Natalie to make sure she was right.
"So you can't say anything?" Adair asked Orphiera now, knowing yes or no questions could be answered, since all they required was a shake of hands.

"Yes, born that way. Dacian thinks that something went wrong because of how long she was a ball of energy... I don't know. We still can't find exactly what's making her mute."
Ophiera shook her head, still smiling. She opened her mouth and pretended to talk. Soft breaths of air were audible, but that was it.
Natalie, meanwhile, slipped off to make root beer floats and grab some cookies. And she grabbed a small apple for Ophiera. A few months ago, Ophiera had seen Snow White and had developed a fear of apples... but slowly, Natalie had gotten her back to eating them.
Ophiera, still holding onto Adair's hand, tugged him inside.

Adair followed, grinning a bit as he followed. She was different too. It was sad that she couldn't talk but if he could handle Holden refusing to talk he could handle Ophiera's inablity to talk. They were kinda the same thing.
"Do you play games?" Adair asked, careful to make sure that it was a yes or no question. Kainda also steped in, wiping her feet as she let Adair be dragged off and wlaked over to natalie.
"You didn't have to do that." she started, but smiled at the hospitality. "And about Adair's clothes, you don't charge too much do you? I don't have much money right now since I had to basically buy anything Adair touched in the store. Also, on a related not, I got a crap load of fabric that maybe you can use.' Kainda offered. She had no use for the torn shirts and stuff, she didn't know how to sow.

Ophiera looked at Adair and nodded, smiling. She let go of his hand and proceeded to twirl and dance over to the kitchen area, where she stood on her tiptoes to get the apple that Natalie held out. Natalie then picked up a glass of rootbeer float, holding it for for Adair to take.
"We can work something out, I'm sure," Natalie said, smiling. "Poor college student here-" albeit with a sugar daddy of sorts- "so I entirely understand the lack of funds. And sure! I have lots of fabric already here, but if you want to bring some of it by, I can see what I can do with it." She smiled and nodded.
"Oh. Do you want a sandwich or something?"

Adair walked over and reached up for the drink carefully, his claws clicking against the glass. The young toddler was learning quickly about how sharp his claws could be, but he didn't mind over all. Expect when he hurt someone when he didn't need too. Like Kainda. Adair glanced at Kainda's hands, that had scabs running over the palms and between the pointer finger and thumb. They were from Adair's claws, when he pulled his hand free. The kitsune never complained about it.
So Adair prefered not to think about it. "So do you have any games we can play with?" Adair asked, checking over his question to make sure it was yes or no even as he sent a dashing smile over to Ophiera. "If not I could show you some fun games." Adair asured her, not wanting her to feel like she might loose something if she didn't have games.
Kainda glanced over to Adair when he took the class and noticed the dashing grin but missed the concerned look to her hands. The boy would be a ladies man when he grew up, hell he might be the kind to charm as a child, some where, and Adair was just full of natural charm.
"No, I'm fine. If you're gonna need to messure Adair I suggest you do so soon. Once he's in a game he wont want to pause it for anything." Kainda warned as she took her own float and sipped at it. No one had made her something like this in years, it was nice.

"Probably a good idea. That'll be all I need him for, and then we can just talk what you'd want for him." Natalie smiled, and then went over to the living room area, catching up a sketchbook, a pen, and a measuring tape.
Flipping to a new page which she labeled 'Adair,' she wrote down a whole bunch of things (lengths that she was going to measure), and then looked over at Adair and Ophiera.
"Hey, before you two get started, I need to see a few things about Adair. Can you guys come over here really quickly? And then Ophiera can show you her toys." She smiled, gesturing them over to the carpeted living room.
Ophiera had nodded earlier at the question of toys, grinning. But mommy came first- so she toddled over, taking Adair's hand again, munching on her apple.

Adair blinked at the question but when Ophiera grabed his hand he followed carefully. He didn't want to scratch Ophiera with his claws acidentally. She'd proably cry and then Adair would feel bad. He liked making friends he didn't want to ruin his chance with this one.
"What do you need to see?" Adair asked interested. Now he stood infront of Natalie, still holding his glass tightly as he sucked away at his new favorite drink. The foam was fun!
"She's going to take your messurments for clothes." Kainda told him. "You need some more clothes and since we can't buy ones from the store she's going to make you some, but first she needs to take your messurements so she can be sure they fit right."
Adair listened to the explination, thinking about it for a bit before he placed the cup down. "Alright." he agreed with a shrug, at least he'd get to play afterwards.

"Right, measurements. And it'll be quick, so no worries!" She smiled, unrolling the measuring tape. She settled down on one knee before Adair, her sketchbook on the ground by her legs. She was quick, wrapping the measuring tape around, jotting things down, then moving to a new measurement. Within five minutes, she was done, and she sat back.
"There we go! And, last but not least - what are your favorite colors?"
Ophiera rocked back and forth on her heels, waiting for her mom to finish. Natalie was fast, but Ophiera was still impatient.

No one had asked Adair what his favorite colors were before and so for a moment he had to think, really hard. After all favorite colors were a big desicion. It said a lot about a person and would reflect itself carefully. Adair frowned and then smiled as he decided.
"Orange, and gold and maybe red." He said firmly, then sent her his wicked grin before turning back to Ophiera. "Come on! Lets play. Show me your games." he ordered easilly as he went to tug her arm gently into his. Holding hands wasn't much of an option for Adair because of his claws but this way he didn't hurt anyone.
Kainda smiled a bit as she watched Adair run off. He forgot his drink but since Kainda was sure the boy didn't need more sugar she didn't bring it up, just grabbed it and went to put it in the kitchen.
"So I'm not entirely sure what I'm thinking for Adair but something...I don't know simple, and easy. Tunics and pants and that sort of thing." Kainda admited. "But it has to be machine washable and very durable. Can you do something like that?"

Natalie nodded. "Mmhmm. We'll just use durable fabrics and I'll serge the seams. I wasn't thinking any fancy fabrics for him, anyway - just light canvas and cotton and corderoy and denim. I have most of those on hand, too."
She flopped down on the couch, and motioned for Kainda to join her. She began sketching out an idea that allowed for all of his special features, trying to find a balance between function and fashion. After all, anybody could make a sack with a few holes cut in it. "Tell me if you like or don't like something I draw, kay? And keep throwing out ideas."
Ophiera let herself be led over towards her toys, then took the lead. She reached up to pull a board game down - Candyland -, a puzzle, and some dolls from a shelf. And a few videos. She also liked to play dress-up with mommy, but Natalie probably didn't have anything that would fit Adair. Yet.
She grinned up at him, looking as if she were giggling. But again, only air passed her lips. She flopped down on the floor, tugging at him to get him to join her.
