Night was breaking, slowly, but Selene could see the purpling of the sky as the sun began to peek over the horizon. Silence, everywhere, until the first birds began to chirp in the small bushes that dotted the area. It was devoid of trees, a prelude to the plains. She sniffed the air, scenting rain on the way. A shame- the sky was almost cloudless.
Blue-teal hair shimmering with pearls and feathers blew in a slight breeze, and she let herself take to the air, seeking out something. Anything. Maybe an old friend, maybe an old enemy? Her 'fathers', Calamity or Rahu? Her brother, Safi? Perhaps one of her sons, Faust, or Chenguang? Yue was not on her must-meet list today, they'd argued the day before. Over nothing, as was usual between the two of them. Love was so very, very difficult.
Or perhaps, today, she would meet someone new? Someone she had only met a few times previously? She wanted to catch up with her roots... so much had been lost after Yue and Chen had been born. Not that it was their fault; no, she would not trade her daughter for anything in the world. It was a shame she did not know her son.
She sighed, dancing through the air on wings of 'star-spun gossamer.' Kishi's wirds, not her own. She couldn't stop the soft laughter, golden eyes watching both the sky around her for dangers, but the ground below, for something to catch her attention.

The stallion watched the night sky as he so often did. For the skies had blessed him with a fallen star and a family to care for. She of corse would flit off into the sky once again and he always waited for her to return, even if she never would. Although she had told him thats why she had fallen from the sky...
He sighed softly, large lungs filling with the crisp air. The wind grew colder as the autum season was set upon the world and there was the scent of rain on its heels. Virgo kept his eyes on the sky as the wind played with silver strands of hair, dancing them as if beams of moonlight across his dark velvet fur.
As Shooting star caught his attention and he tilted his head lightly to the side as he watched it, much slower than other shooting stars. This one seemed to have no particular place to go, just leasiurely making its way across the sky.

She enjoyed the breeze. The sky was so peaceful, this early. None of those chattering birds had yet taken wing, and the birds that flew at night had already headed back down, to start nesting for the evening.
A flash of silver caught her eye, bringing the small mare's attention to the ground below. A familiar figure stood, eyes on the stars above. What was his name...? Sagittarius. That was who it was. Wasn't it? Or was it one of the other stars? She remembered vaguely... Gemini? Cancer? Pisces? Virgo?
.... Virgo sounded right. But she would start with a nice 'hey you' until she remembered for sure. She let herself fall, clumsily plummeting out of the sky, hair following behind her, looking much like a canopy following a falling tree. Quick, rueful reflection made her decide... in the future, she'd make sure her hair was BRAIDED before she went flitting about.
The landing was graceful, though her hair did give a bit of a thud as it landed. She cleared her throat, unsure as to whether or not the stallion had noticed her. "Hello." she said cheerfully after a moment. "It's been a while. I have that better story for you."

Virgo's eyes on been on her long before she had tucked her wings and headed to the earth. Although at first he hadnt realised it was another Soquili, much less it was Selene whom he had met long ago before Andromeda fell from the skies. So many stars frequented the earth...and yet he could not visit them in the sky.
He smiled at her and dipped his head in formal greeting, his silver mane slipping over his shoulders and pooling on the ground at his feet. "Good eve Miss, Its a pleasure to see you again." He remembered her beging unhappy, though at this point he really couldnt remember why. She was a plesent enough mare but there was something in the undertones of how she had spoken that gave more truth than he thought she wanted others to know of.
He raised his head and flicked his tail lightly. "Well then, Im certainly glad to hear that. Did you take to writing the story yourself, or did you only play a part?" He asked her, a simple enough question. He wondered if she had been the one to cause the auctions or had someone else come along that had caused her to see herself and her life from another view.

She smiled, remembering how she'd told the stallion she'd fly to the stars and bring back starshine. Make the whole world sparkle. How could she have forgotten such a dream? Where had she changed? But she was telling the truth. She had a much happier story to tell Virgo now than the story that came from the broken heart of a mare who was barely an adult.
"I suppose I wrote part of it." she said with a smile. "Not as much as I thought I would, but enough to know I've taken an active role in my own life. How about yourself? Have you been writing a story?" Had he found a way to touch the stars, this stallion who was so passionate about his love for them?

The stallion smiled as he was happy she had found a way to look at the world from a different view. At lest a different one than she had before. She was an adult now, grown more into her form, stronger too from the way her held her head. Yes she was better off than she had been previously. He smiled at her, the smile of a friend whom was glad to see someone they cared about had turned their life around. While he only may have met her once, she had played on his mind several times in the months since their meeting. How could one forget a fallen star? And truely that is what she had been, lost and alone.
"Well M'lady I am very glad to hear that. It always seems to work out better when you can write some of the words yourself. " He smiled and nodded his head. "Indeed I have, another Star feel from the sky last winter. I vowed to help her on a quest and here I stand now. " It sounded so funny, he sounded as gallant as a night speaking of his fair lady whom he had sworn on bendded knee and sheild to protect. "She bore with her young when she last feel from the sky... so I suppose Ive been writting a story all along."

Selene couldn't stop a little laugh. "You just catch all sorts of fallen stars, don't you?" she said finally, giving him a warm look. "And children! Congratulations." She tried to remember whether her Yue Shuang and Chenguang had been born yet when she had last met the stallion.
It had been over 12 moons since she'd spoken to him last. Goodness! "I do believe the stars are falling at an amazing rate around here." she said finally. "How many little constellations did she bring?"

Virgo smiled at her as her won warm smile broke across her cool features. It was very good to see her smile. "It would seem so." he said with a grin. "Although I wonder what draws the stars to come down from the sky." he said after a thoughtful moment.
"Ahh she brought with her three chilren, two boys one girl. Each as amazing as their mother." he said with a smile. "And you Selene? "

"I would think the same thing that draws the stars to earth is the same thing that draws earth to them, isn't it?" she looked almost impish. "Gravity." she waited a moment, to watch his face for any kind of a reaction before continuing. "And the realization of something new, different."
She cleared her throat. "As for myself, I have three children. Two sons and a daughter. Same as yours, though their father wasn't a falling star. He was a... something." she made a little face, pondering exactly WHAT Forrest had been. A fling? A mistake, definitely.

Virgo smiled at her, though her words where true he liked to put a more poetic spin on things. "True enough M'lady true enough. I suppose taht gravity pulls us to eachother as well." He chuckled softly and shrugged his shoulders. What ever the reason was, he was glad for it.
He turned to look at her, that playful handsome smile still resting lightly on his face. He was sorry to hear that love was not yet written into her story but he had faith that she would find her shining knight...or in the case of Selene, she might very well be the Shining knight herself. He flicked his tail and nodded softly. "Well whatever the circomstances Im glad to hear that, I mean nothing can compare to the love of a child."

What kind of gravity did pull one creature to another? If she chose to look at it with gravity pulling everything one way or another... lovers, enemies, friends, FOOD... it made everything more confusing.
She finally shook her head, ignoring the subject. "The love of a child." She could remember that. She really could. Those days when Yue was still so very small, and didn't realize how much Selene had resented her; the days before Faust realized just how different from his 'parents' he truly was; the memory of a brightly colored Chenguang hidden behind a tree while his elder sister tried to coax him out to meet the world. "It's wonderful, while you have it." The hurt of losing Faust to some obscure darkness; of never seeing Chen, her beautiful fairy-winged son; the hurt when Yue had been so angry, and hateful. "And even more precious if you've lost it once." She and Yue understood each other now. Not to say their relationship wasn't painful at times, but still.
The world wasn't all butterflies and clouds, when she faced up to it.

Virgo Nodded quietly as he watched Selene. It seemed that she had had a hard life, even more so by the children she had raised. Now things seemed to have reached a balance for her and for the most part she seemed content. Yes, little Selene had grown up well in the time since he last saw her.
His tail flicked softly behind him and he nodded, there was wisdom in her words. "Things are always more special to us once we have lost them, and gained them back. We tend to neglect things we dont realise are special to us, until we have lost them we dont know how much they ment. A childs love is very special indeed."

She nodded softly, slowly. "How very true that is." she let her head fall forward, sighing. "I wouldn't recommend you let it happen, ever." she gave Virgo a small smile, raising her slender head again to stare the larger stallion in the eye. "It's a monstrous heartache. But on to happier thoughts. Tell me about your children!"
She danced in place like a filly, smiling with pleasure, looking expectantly at the stranger she called friend. "You said two sons and a daughter? What are their names? What are they like?"

Virgo was happy for the change in subject and laughed as she suddenly snaped from sullen, to animated and hyper. He watched her as the grown mare seemed to prance from side to side like a filly who wanted to hear a store. A great laugh escaped his chest as he watched her, merryment and mirth escaped him. "Ahhh well now, I have Lyra, Cassiopea and Gemini. Gemini is like his mother in more ways than one, he is pale and sparkles like the night like she does. A true star in the sky, he unlike the other two was gifted with wings. Little cassi Is wise beyond her years, and has a horn, rather like you, and like 'Romi. She has a bit more blue than her brother and more spunk and courage than some full grown stallions...and Lyra, is a true gentleman even at his age. He looks rather like the spitting image of myself."
