Why is this such a big thing with the emo subculture?
I knew I was bi since I was eight or nine. I happen to be goth/emo (Emoth). However there are way too many people now just saying they're bi to be cool (cough, my exgirlfriend, cough. I am a girl FYI.) and such.
DISCUSS: Why is being bi part of being emo and why is everyone saying they're bi?

Almost everyone goes through that phase though. When I was in middle school all my friends were kinda like...wondering if they were or not. Alot of girls claimed they were bi purely just because "guys think its hawt". Thats lame. Some of my friends experiemented or whatever and came out saying "well...I'm straight" a couple ended up comming out. The whole time I already know i was going to be straight. I never went through that fad or whatever. Theres nothing wrong with being bi or gay at all. Its a lifestyle choice, preference and way of life. I say, its just a phase in peoples lives. Even though the people who are for sure about their sexuality think its annoying, its just what tends to happen in middle and high school. Think of it this way, maybe you should consider it flattering.
Dont worry about it...Your teenage years are supposed to be the most confusing.

I'm mostly straight, but I'm what I like to call bi-hetero. I like girls and interested in guys, but I wouldn't actually have sex with a guy, just make-out or whatever. Nothing more, like...yeah what I'd do with a girl.

Emoth is a word I made up with my British theatre instructor and I like it good whee
Also, yeah it's not confusing for me, I was just commenting on it in general.
Also, it is an issue that occurs in life. Hence, life issue.

I'm bi, yeah. And I've actually dated more chicks then guys. I just never tell anyone because it really isn't their business unless they really want to know. I'm just tired of all these people running around saying they're bi or gay just for attention.

Another thing is that most of the people who are bi through out high school tend to make up their mind which side by college. I dont have any bi friends anymore cuz they picked one. So for now you can be (I'm saying this seeing as the general population on here are young folks) but I can bet a good amount of money that you will pick being gay or straight right around your college years. I dont think calling yourself bi in middle school is good enough, or saying that you have made up your mind. I think if you are in high school I think you almost have the right mind set and decision making capabilities to make that kind of conclusion for then.
So basically based off of my experience being 20 years old:
middle school: No, I dont think youre mature enough to make the full decision but yes you can experiment and call yourself bi...for now.
high school: Alot of people will turn one or the other, but alot of those bi people will go back and forth. I think you can say your bi and mean it. But its temporary until you make up your mind.
College and after: You'll probably pick a main side but at the same time be attracted to the other of course but by then you will decide what you want to live with(significant other) for the rest of your life. You wont be exactally bi but you will be like...75% one way and 25% the other. Which is mature.

I wouldn't say I'm bi. I also wouldn't say I'm straight or gay.
I love a girl, I love a girl. I love a guy, I love a guy. Nothing I can do about it.

Also, it is an issue that occurs in life. Hence, life issue. And you know only about 15% of the British have any mastery over the English language.
