Pale eyes glanced back, Pembe'juhi had to make sure that his mother or uncle weren't following him. He wanted to get out and be on his own for once. Pleased to see that he wasn't being followed, he smiled happily and pranced around a bit. The day was nice and sunny, a few clouds in the sky here and there. The perfect day to play with someone! Though, he just needed to find someone to play with.

Not far from where the pink male was prancing, another cub was sat on a rock, also looking around. This was the first time Timiza'upeo had been allowed to venture out on his own, without him being under under the watchful eyes of his parents or in the company of one of his mother's jackal friends.
He looked somewhat worried, having gotten used to the security that his parents or the jackals provided. Without that, he didn't feel quite so sure of himself. His mother had assured him though that he would be safe, as long as he remained well within the Pride Lands. With a small smile on his face, he continued to look out over the horizon.

Going in no particular direction, Pembe'juhi wasn't sure where he was going, but that was the fun in it. He surely did get the adventurous and playful spirit from his mother's side of the family. Just as he thought he was alone, his pale eyes caught sight of a cub not too far off, alone and sitting by himself.
Curious, he decided to head in that direction to see what the cub was up to. Perhaps he could have someone to play with afterall! He smiled brightly as he greeted the other cub, "Hello!"

Despite the fact that the golden cub looked as if he was completely aware of his surroundings, he was startled by the greeting that seemed to come out of nowhere. When his deep purple eyes finally rested on his fellow cub, he tilted his head, a somewhat confused expression on his face. "You're pink." Timiza'upeo wasn't usually one to just blurt things out, but in this case he simply couldn't help it. The only time he had ever seen pink previously was on flowers, and the occasional butterfly. Of course, the fact that this cub was pink too wasn't a bad thing, it was just very strange to him.

As the pink cub had came up to the other cub, Pembe'juhi noticed his bright eyes. They were purple, an odd color like his pink. With a mock shocked expression, he looked at his paws. "I'm pink?! Oh no, those evil flowers made me pink!" He couldn't hold the expression any longer as he laughed heartily.
His pale eyes looked at the other cub with a friendly smile, "I'm Pembe'juhi, but you can call me Pembe!"

At first, Timiza'upeo didn't even realise that the pink cub was joking, but it soon dawned on him. He let out a little laugh, his shyness holding him back somewhat. A part of him still expected his mother to nudge him reassuringly, or his father to ruffle the small tuft of fur on his head and tell him that everything was alright, but neither of them were there to do that. With a gentle sigh, he tried to reassure himself in his own mind.
Whilst he was trying to give himself some helpful tips, he realised that the pink cub had introduced himself. "Oh!" Again he was startled. "Umm, I'm Timiza'upeo. You can call me Timi?" The golden cub tried to mimic Pembe's enthusiastic introduction but failed rather miserably. He shifted uncomfortably, clearly embarassed by his shyness and his inability to interact with others without the support of his parents.

His head tilted slightly as Pembe'juhi flicked his tail. Timi appeared to be quite shy, and it kind of reminded him of his sister. Not at all to take advantage of the situation or prod fun at the other, he smiled. "It's nice to meet you, Timi. Do you live around here?" It just seemed to be his day, the little pink cub was meeting plenty of cubs his age around here.
"Would you like to play?"

"Mhm." Timiza'upeo nodded and lifted a paw to point at one of the many dens that dotted Pride Rock. "I live there with my parents and my two sisters." Turning back to Pembe, he realised that he had simply assumed that this cub was a fellow Pride Lander, rather than asking him. "You live here too right?"
At the pink cub's next question, Timiza'upeo managed a small smile and another gentle nod of the head. He didn't have any ideas for games though, so he hoped that Pembe would have some.

Pale blue eyes gazed over to where Timi was pointing to. Ah! Pembe'juhi smiled happily, Timi's den was not so far away from his own family's den. He looked at the other cub as he pointed to where his own family's den is. "Oh! You have sisters too! I have two sisters and a brother. We all live over there with the rest of my family. There are so many lions there." He lived with plenty of his relatives at any given time, and especially since his Uncle Siltim had found a mate, he had hoped that had meant he'd get some cousins soon.
As Timi wanted to play a game, Pembe sat there for a second thinking of what to play. There were many games in which they could play, but a few of them might not be good for Timi since he seemed a little timid. Hmm...ah! They could go and play explorer! "My Uncle Siltim showed me a game to play that we could do. One of us starts out with an item that we need to find. We go around and search for items, and whoever finds the item first wins!"

Although he only lived with his mother, father and two sisters, Timiza'upeo had been told about all the uncles and aunties and cousins he had on both his mother's side and his father's side. "My mother says our family is one of the biggest in the whole Pride Lands." Of course, he didn't say that in a bragging way, it was just his way of trying to further conversation. Apparently he was getting the hang of it.
When playing was brought back up, Timiza'upeo looked rather unsure about the game that Pembe suggested, but he tried not to let it show as he started to feel a little more comfortable around the pink cub. Smiling slightly, he nodded and then looked around. "What item should we use?"

In awe at Timiza's words, Pembe'juhi was happy to hear that he wasn't the only one with a big family. His family was big to him, but Timiza's family must be huge then! He flicked his tail as he looked at the other cub. His pale blue eyes looked around for an item to start out with. "Well, I guess I should start so that'll help you understand how to play the game." He could see Timiza's hesitation and decided that he'd give it a shot first before letting the cub have a go.
"Ok, here is what we should do. I'm going to call out an item out of the top of my head, and then we'll search for the item around here. The first one to come back here with the item wins," He paused, "Just make sure not too be too far because we don't want to get lost!" Then, he got an idea, "Ok! The first thing we'll search for is a flower!"

(( sweatdrop Sorry for the wait luff. ))
Timiza'upeo was careful to take in all that Pembe said about the game, as he didn't want to mess it up. The rules turned out to be quite simple, which was a relief.
After the pink cub said what they should be searching for, Timiza'upeo hesitated. "Should I go when you say go...or, do I go now?" The golden cub didn't want to seem like a cheater, so he thought it best to wait for confirmation before running off to find a flower.

With a nod, Pembe'juhi replied, "We can start now! Let's go!" After telling that to Timiza, the pink cub went off to his left looking for a flower. His pale eyes gazed to the left and right, searching for one. He wondered out Timiza was faring. Did the other cub find one before him? It took him some time, as he weaved back and forth, close to where the pair had started before he spotted a white spot in the sea of green. With a smile, he ran in that direction, hoping to have found a flower afterall!

Timiza'upeo really liked flowers, as they attracted one of his most favourite things; butterflies. If he could spot a butterfly, he was bound to find a flower. Eyes narrowed, he looked from left to right for the familiar flutter of colourful wings.
Eventually, his eyes fell on a bright blue butterfly, hovering just above the grass. He couldn't see a flower below it, but he was sure that one would be there. Smiling, he ran over to where the butterfly was. It would be so great if he could win the game, but he would be happy either way as he had seen a butterfly.

As his pale eyes kept the white spot in sight, Pembe'juhi was just in luck as there was a few small flowers just up ahead. With a large smile, he went to pluck a single one before heading back to where Timiza and him were supposed to meet. Was the other cub there first? He didn't know, but he'd find out. With the flower in his mouth, he turned around to race back towards the meeting point, his eyes scanning for any signs of tan.
As he had gotten closer to the meeting place, he had his eyes ahead and didn't see where he was going. Thus, he tripped over his feet to fall face first into the ground. With a small thud, he pushed himself back up and shook all the grass off of him. Oh no! His flower was crushed. His ears lowered slightly as he gently picked up his flower and walked a bit more carefully, hoping not to crush and damage his flower any further. Maybe Timiza was waiting for him?
